Great looking ride and really thought out... What a tribute to Bill Jenkins. First man to win at Ponoma Superstock. He won with a 67 camero with the same paint scheme. Awesome car
Oh yea those Liberty transmissions are $$$, saw a lot of those used in UMTR / United Manual Transmission Racers group, they have two classes street stick and pro stick, fun cars to watch for sure
This car has the Grump's look, He wasn't perfect but like the car Bill was loud and scary. I'm sure he is smiling somewhere at the sound of this beast.
Looks like he has flat shifted a few cars threw the years that was great brought back memories and that's really what this all about but instead of 2000 dollar cars they are 40 and 50 thousand dollar cars
Love the old style "cheater slicks" that y'all just made a pound or two lighter. Hey man, less weight helps the et's! Lol. Sick AF 68. Keep em comin Nick!
This car brings back so many memories because it's drag racing history. I remember Grumpy Toy at two drag strips. National Speedway at Long Island, New York and Raceway Park at Englishtown, New Jersey. During 60s and 70s Bill Jenkins was a top Super Stock class driver along with the mopars of Sox & Martin. His Camaros in Hotrod magazines help make Chrome Crager mag wheels popular.
went to local resturant here in eastern nc couple months ago my good friend garley daniels{one of grumps great friend} and buddy martin of sox and martin was having lunch garlley 2 time world champion aways had jenkins competion sticker on car
I love 68 Camaro’s had one when I was 19 with a slapstick shift red with a black stripe. This one is great but too race car for me. I love the original 350 SS with all the factory options
I had a 69 350 4 speed Hurst shifter. Didn't know they came with a 5 speed. All original would be better, except for the Cragar mags which were very popular back then.
Man o man! What a beast she is. That's a whole lotta motor! I love reading all these comments cause there are alot of gear heads that comment and I always learn something from all the experience that you guys share on here. Keep up the great work Nick! You guys have a very classy place there at Maple Motors, pun intended.
I started singing the intro song and went, "Wait a minute here!... This is new lol.. Love the car Nick she is a true gem!. To the person who buys it "You lucky individual!" they'd know exactly what I really meant to say lol. Thanks for sharing as always Nick and I know that this will be gone in 4 days or less. 🙏🙏🤞
Out of all the beautiful, bad ass cars you’ve had, I think this one takes the cake. It would make a great weekend toy to get into a little trouble with!!!
I would give you a deposit right now and be down at the end of the week with the cash if I had a clue how to drive and handle that beast and also be able to get that through my state inspection, AWSOME car man.
Had to pause for the cause! Cause my adrenaline shot up when he nailed it! Dude!!! THAT'S a Camaro!! There's your Camaro Nick!! Ha!!! I'm forwarding this to some guys I know in Ohio may be interested! ✌😎 🚗~wo💥💥ombah!!!💨
Wow! sure brings back memories of driving my white 68 Firebird 400 4spd Hurst out to the drags on Vancouver island back in 75. I paid $1700 back in the day and thought that was a lot of money. I am shocked this car sold for $39 US. Perfect race car. Right colour, right wheels, right motor, sounds deadly. Wonder where my Bird is today, sure would like to have it back or this one..just dreamin. awesome video.
Bill Jenkins Camaro was a 67 , one of the first to roll off the assembly line . he put 68 door glass on it . it ran a 9.99 in 1970 1st production car to break the 10 sec barrier. Bill and the Sox & Martin team dominated the class back then .
Looks like the car he won the Gator Nationals with in 1970...WOW always been a big fan of Grumpy, grew up with him in the Philadelphia area in the early 70's
If I had that thing...I'd immediately replace that Liberty with a M21 like Bill's original had!! It would be MORE period correct for a 'tribute' car, and MUCH MORE PRACTICAL for street driving! Not to mention the money you would recover by selling that Liberty to a racer that's going to actually use it for its intended design purpose!!
Awesome car Grumpy Camaro.. I remember those days. Super Fun Car.. Be really cool if u come across a Dick Landys Challenger or A Sox and Martin Car.. some day
I'm old enough to remember when Bill Jenkins and his Grumpy's toys ruled the drag strips. Saw him run quite a few times. ! Neat tribute car. One of my friends saw the original car in pennsylvania a few years ago @super chevy. !
1968 Chevrolet Camaro Drag Strip Ready GMPP 502 Big Block V-8 engine with aluminum heads Probably sold right after the video was put online. Now that is a Real Car. Nick, If you want to make that Grumpy's Toy shift better. Go under it and have someone put it into 1st gear, As long as you are in 1 st gear just take the cotter pin off and pull out the linkage rod and you have to adjust the length of each rod so that while you are looking right at the place where the rod goes, It has to be in the center of the tranny spot, then put that linkage rod back on and do the same thing for 2nd gear the same way, then 3 rd gear, then 4 th gear , then 5 th gear and then put it in reverse and adjust the length the same way. As long as you are in any gear just take the cotter pin off and pull out the linkage rod and you have to adjust the length of each rod so that while you are looking right at the place where the rod goes into place, It has to be in the center of the tranny spot, then put that linkage rod back on and do the same thing for every gear.. It takes 2 people , but you can do it alone...
Good looking tribute car. I don't think I could live with that shifter on the street, though. Besides, even if you are going to take it to the strip, you don't need a maxed out pro setup for sportsman passes. If you look at Grumpy in the day (there are videos), he has a long, curved Hurst 4-speed in Super stock with a similar car. He ran pretty strong with that setup!
I bet that trans has already been sold. It would go for enough to put in a strong 5 or 6 speed and good shifter and have enough leftover to pay for insurance for a year and then some.
Holy tire shredding batman it's race car week at maple motors and I'm loving it!!!!
Great looking ride and really thought out... What a tribute to Bill Jenkins. First man to win at Ponoma Superstock. He won with a 67 camero with the same paint scheme. Awesome car
This car isn't going to last long!! That transmission is one EXPENSIVE UNIT!! Beautiful car!!
Oh yea those Liberty transmissions are $$$, saw a lot of those used in UMTR / United Manual Transmission Racers group, they have two classes street stick and pro stick, fun cars to watch for sure
That’s one of the nicest cars you’ve ever had Nick. I am a grumpy Jenkins fan and that’s awesome !
You'll never have to worry about someone stealing it. they will never know how to put it in reverse or first gear
😂
This car has the Grump's look, He wasn't perfect but like the car Bill was loud and scary. I'm sure he is smiling somewhere at the sound of this beast.
Grumpy Jenkins. Racing Legend. There's a GMP diecast of this exact car
Looks like he has flat shifted a few cars threw the years that was great brought back memories and that's really what this all about but instead of 2000 dollar cars they are 40 and 50 thousand dollar cars
Beautiful car! More than I could ever handle. Highly impractical but I'm sure alot of fun.
Damn, this Camaro looks like an old race car! Impractical for street driving, however.
Love the old style "cheater slicks" that y'all just made a pound or two lighter. Hey man, less weight helps the et's! Lol. Sick AF 68. Keep em comin Nick!

@@hartfordsignpost589 They didn't come with a 5 speed. No car comes with this particular 5 speed from the factory. Not much of a car guy, 'eh? lol

Yes indeed
Where's Grumpy why did he sell it?
yea that a repop of the Grump's car .I miss the ol guy

Happy blacky nappy, for I am so sorry that I did not see this ride before now. Love it all the way. Old Master Gunnery SGT USMC.
Now that’s what I call a real test drive!
I would give you a deposit right now and be down at the end of the week with the cash if I had a clue how to drive and handle that beast and also be able to get that through my state inspection, AWSOME car man.
That's not a street car you shouldn't need to get it inspected for track use should you?
You've outdone yourself on this "Grumpy's Toy" tribute Camaro, Nick! By far the nicest race-ready car you've ever reviewed! 😀👍🇺🇸

AIN'T NOTHING LIKE THE SOUND OF A BIG BLOCK GETTING IT ON!
Like mowing grass with a chainsaw
Guys hate seeing a man drinking beer mowing grass at 60mph
What a ride!! WOW! That's a car you pull in some place & everyone crowds around. Love it.
Not for the street. But a badass nonetheless.
perfect for a daily driver!
Grocery getter.
😂😂😂😂😂
I'd 100% take it to Sonic drive in ! lol
She just sounds so amazing!.
God please let me have the good fortune and I do mean small fortune to own/build something like this some day. 🙏🤞😂
He.
Nick if I was to hit the lottery I wouldn't even worry about price you got me. I'd just throw you the cash and give me the keys.....lol
That's an amazing Camaro. I'd love to own that. Good luck.
God that transmission sounds incredible !!!
I thought I was alone.
@@cdjr66 you can hear those straight cut gears whining 😀
Hope yall let the engine get up to temp, transmission and most importantly the tires or you're gonna have traction issues.Cheers
I'd love to own this recreation of Grumpy's Toy. Killer 68.

one of the legendary Bill Grumpy 's Hot Rod's 😲
The real gumpys toy is in Pittsburgh just a few miles from my house estate Ed over 1 million dallors

coolest car you've ever had
That was me flashing the headlights at you the other day on Rockland Rd when you were in the Chevelle. I wasn't in my Camaro, though.
COOL, couldnt build something like that fir 40 grand,, some engine specs would be nice along with rear end, etc.

HARPER is such a big kid!
That was Bill Jenkins most winning car in the 70s. Although that's a replica it's an awesome car.
Beautiful car but I would put my son's GTO up for a pink slip if you're willing. I would love to have this sitting in my garage.
Is that truly one of Grumpy Jenkins cars?

Nice Tribute to "Grumpy" Fast as Hell!
Thats a sweetheart hate the 68 grill though
I think I'm in love,and her name is Liberty!🇺🇲
Take it to Bristol for a proper test ride awesome car love the gear whine
Love the gear whine
Very cool 68 Camaro, Has a hankering for speed, let's go. Great video, really enjoy them. Thanks
Seats 💺 look incredible 😍
Plenty of vacuum. Nice surprise.
I was hoping for the Leroy Jenkins version
Good buy. M&H makes a period slick that would perfect for this car.
Rad sir!
I have a model car if of grumpy’s Toy I built as a kid…
Monster Camaro sir.
Awesome
I’m looking for a 63 Chevy truck sir, doesn’t have to be pretty or built to the hilt…
If that car came from California, I think it may have belonged to a friend of mine who built it, Groucho’s Performance.
someone is going to have fun with that ride.
Am I the only one that saw the frame broke on the driver's side where the front of the rear spring mounts?? But it is a cool car.
You made me go look under the car, it’s 100% not broken nothings wrong with this frame.
Detailed pictures on my website of the whole undercarriage
It sounds so angry and I love the shifter!
I am so jealous whoever owns this car right now because this car is already sold. I am jealous.
Nice, but that trans/shifter looks like a pita.
Cool Camaro but if they were going period correct why did they use a polished intake. They should have used a 1970s Chevy/Edelbrock intake.
Good looking tribute car. I don't think I could live with that shifter on the street, though. Definitely just a drag car here not street ready at all
That Camero is the only Ten i see 😉. Great show👍
Grumpy Jenkins loves ScottieDTV on UA-cam! Great video!
Very nice ride 🔥 American muscle 💪 got to love them big block Camaros.
You guys were just playing with it. Heat up those tires and do some serious slamming, friggin terror.
Man do I remember BILL GRUMPY JENKINS CAR! GRUMPYS TOY!
That car should be sold quick
Ya I had a 68 firebird with 400 horse power 455 Bonneville motor with blower I couldn't keep the front tires is
I love the Camaro great car to drive your buddies to liquor store make beer runs and memories
The Old School Krager S/S's make the car....lol
1st gen Camaros are gorgeous cars
Love the 68 Camaro.
Absolutely an incredibly gorgeous car seems like somebody should did build it right but I don’t know but I think That gearbox sure does sound crunchy
Dam love it not a joke
Paint job is unbelievable
Needs a tunnel ram! Neat car but that shifter looks like a pain. Love the car though.
Save one for me! I'm saving my money. PS. Don't tell my old lady! LOL
Old School !!!
I bet that trans has already been sold. It would go for enough to put in a strong 5 or 6 speed and good shifter and have enough leftover to pay for insurance for a year and then some.
better get ya seat belts on. lol
ya hide it incase cops come by. lol
hope they don't see this video
but sure u had Hell Good Time💪🇺🇲
Cool car but on the street that trans would have to go. Borg Warner 4sp would be my choice.
You can even see them having to push it just to get the undercarriage shots lol. Definitely not practical for anything other than the strip.
It's made to go fast. Far faster than you can shift a manual trans. Her et would go WAY down with a manual trans.
Or a glide
@@chrisbryant1657 yep with a 5500 stall
That thing is faster than my ex when I was working out of town! Lmbo
I’m shocked that this car hasn’t been sold yet
The grump knew Chevy power was the best.
There is an in car video of Grumpy running the original one, he timed his shifts with puffs on his cigar!
Grumpy was always my favorite, cuz I’m a Jenkins and a little grumpy. Especially these days
Good looking rims
Hell to the yeah, BB baby, looks like a good investment 😁
Now that car sounds teally sweet
I want this badass camaro dam!!!!
Ok that is a BEAST!!!!! VERY NICE.
Best video yet !!! Bad ass car. Worth every penny. You look like you were having a blast too Nick !!!
