She's my kind of chef. It's like being in a kitchen with a friend showing you how to cook. Smashing the garlic with you hand. Love it. My wife is Indonesian, and she's been craving for some yellow rice. I will make it for her today and make her happy thanks to you, chef Cynthia. Subscribed.

Its instant Yellow rice. Normally we use raw turmeric. Steam it to remove bitter taste. Extract the juice and mix it in to Coconut milk. rice is cooked with turmeric + coconut milk just to give yellow colour and oily texture. Rest of cooking process is continued in a special pan to steam rice. But Its miny traditional presto pan rarely used right now after Ricecooker started kick in 😅

this is an interesting question, because Indonesian government itself choose to import rice from other country, which really confuse the Indonesian citizen as we use rice as our primary food. it's weird lol
we even question "why don't we use our own local rice?"
i'm indonesian by thw way lol

    add more ingredients such as
chicken stock (if your are not vegan), pepper powder , pandan leaves , and bay leaves so that the taste will be more richer

You need to wash the rice

    • @andreaniretno1786

Yes you are right... wash the rice 2 or three times with water before we cook it. And add some kaffir lime leaves, bay leaves too... it makes better taste and also smells so good.
