If you want to avoid deep frying you can safely use ove. I baked it for ~40 mins (cover the meat after ~20 mins) in 180 degrees Celsius. I also skipped coating chicken with rice flour and simply dumped rest of the marinade on top of the legs
Hi..i'm from Indonesia 😍 Yellow rice is indeed one of the popular archipelago specialties in Indonesia. Usually this yellow rice is indeed a typical dish in traditional ceremonies or certain events, but also usually becomes a daily food that is sold and can be eaten without a certain celebration👍
Hello there, I am so glad that you guys have this recipe here! I was thinking of doing Nasi Kuning for this coming Hari Raya. A question, if I am using normal white rice, not basmati, what is the ratio for rice : water : coconut milk? I am afraid that it'll get too uncooked or too mushy if I do it like the way I do for nasi lemak. Thank you in advance!
Hi Frist time cook nasi kuning for family hope it works 😁worries for a nasi n chicken hope my family will enjoy my hard work thanks you for your resepi will update how it turns out 😉😘
Hi i tried the recipe for the nasi kuning but it turned out a bit bland. Should I have added salt into the rice mix? Thank you. Your dish looks so good 😅
Looks super delicious! Question. In this video it showed that after you blend the ingredients you use it to marinate the chicken. However, In the detailed instructions found on your blog, it says that you have to cook the spice paste, then add the chicken in etc etc to marinate. Please advise which is the more accurate instruction re the marinate the chicken, using blended spice paste straightaway or you have to fry the spice paste first. Thanks very much. ☻

Hi! Thanks for letting us know. We've already updated the recipe on our website - there's no need to fry the spice paste :)
