Maybe I just suck at bindings but I Don’t see myself fully using the toolset I am given with left click right click.

Rookie mistake going into the mining animation for the ore! You can just attack it and your character will collect it.
Yes but from what I heard it 'kills' the vein preventing it from respawning the ore
If I recall correctly it the ore will respawn

Cause this, don't do the Whiterun Quest at the start, then you will never be disturbed by them (I hate Dragons, lame Bulletsponges and good for nothing...) But damn... I really miss Games like Skyrim:(

if you need to level your smithing, just make th "band of matrimony" it costs no resources and you can do it 1000 times in 30 seconds. I see no other reason for mining iron.
