John handed so many of his treasures over to you because he knew they would be truly loved and cared for. He entrusted them to your wonderful family. It doesn’t surprise me that you have so many fans that want you to succeed in your restoration of that beautiful chateau. John could see his beautiful things living there how wonderful.
The embroidery that you've received is a small copy of the most famous tapestry "The Lady and the Unicorn" (La Dame a la Licorne). It was done in a style the "mille-fleurs" after "thousand flowers" that decorate the background. The original tapestries of the kind were created in 15th centuries in the Loire valley for the chateaux of the most powerful nobles. The original tapestry consist of 6 panels depicting a lady and the unicorn. Your embroidery shows "A Mon Seul Dessir" (Only at my will) panel depicting a lady returning a necklace to the box, held by her servant. The original tapestry was discovered in the castle of Boussac by the French writer George Sand in 19th century. It was woven in 1490 for the wealthy merchant Jean Le Vistle to celebrate one of his appointments. It was first displayed to the nation in 1853 at the Musee Naional du Moyen Age in Paris and supposedly is there today. This tapestry is considered by many to be the greatest tapestry ever created.
Stephanie at Chateau de LaLande based a whole Christmas theme on this tapestry, including gorgeous wrapping paper and crackers~some of her dad's artwork seems inspired by this tapestry as well. ( :

I love how your appreciation to the gifts and visits you show. And how excited Terry was about getting the door handles, which by the way are beautiful! And how Ash was about his copper pans... You need to get him a kitchen lol. And how sweet is it that John brought Tracy a lovely rocking chair! Will you be putting a kitchen on the 3rd floor? Looking forward for the next video. You guys are a joy to watch.
That was wonderful……luv luv luv the Aladdin’s cave. What a beautiful generous soul John is! You are so blessed to have such a lovely follower! God bless him.
The Lady and The Unicorn is a series of six Medieval tapestries found in 1841 in Boussac Castle in France and transferred to the Cluny Museum in Paris in 1863. The tapestries were woven in Flanders from wool and silk for the noble Le Viste family; from designs drawn in Paris around 1500…most likely by the Master of Anne of Brittany. Five of the tapestries are considered to be an allegory of the five senses. Smell, Touch, Taste, Hearing, Sight… The meaning of the sixth tapestry is uncertain: it is is larger than the others, and the only one with an inscription.
Such lovely gifts from John, and your appreciation of every bit of it is so nice to see. Tracy certainly deserves some moments rocking away with a cup of tea or glass of wine.
Serge is a beautiful man.. I had spent loads of money at this brocante.. if you need anything you should always ask him to look out for you.. he’s a star.. ✨✨

Yes, the fabric makes the chairs look very "granny", 👵 but the chairs do look comfortable and well-made and were definitely a bargain. Plus, Terry is really good at re-upholstery so he can make them match anywhere with a more elegant fabric.
