Great video - I’ve got a pair of Frye boots, so it was interesting to see how these were refurbished.

Love your videos 📹 on boots and boot care. I need a pair of Luchese Classics redone, with leather stacked heels, and JR double soles with brass toe protectors. Is this possible double soles?

I've a pair of Women's 15R Frye Harness boots in Chocolate I found in a thrift store. There appears to be what looks like spots of dried wax all over them. I've plenty of Frye Leather Lotion, etc but not sure how to treat these. The boots are in excellent condition otherwise. All suggestions appreciated. I like to keep my boots in top shape.

A lot of the Frye leather is infused with a wax based oil that after some time and depending on the cut of the leather those waxes start to show through. Ideally it’s best to leave it but if it’s really something you don’t like might be best to clean it like you would suede with a nylon brush. After that condition as normal

@@CobblersPlus Hi, I actually ended up warming up the wax slowly with my blow dryer and working it back into the leather with a horsehair brush and they came out looking great. A lot of work but worth it. Thank you for your answer. It was greatly appreciated.

My wife received a Frye leather purse for her birthday yesterday. Should she apply the weatherproof balm or the waterproof spray....or both (balm first, then spray weeks later maybe, or vice versa)? Thanks !!

Love my FYRE, aways get a 1/2 size bigger, for women’s if they are steel tied biker boots. If you have any size 7 women’s boots other than black please let me know I’ll take them off your hands and nobody picked them up, thank you & nice work

    It’s Ho-ho-ba oil
How do you know if your boots are oiled leather? I have a pair of Frye harness boots, Square toe, those things are built like iron. I just can’t seem to break them in. They were resoled before I got them, some kind of hard black rubber.that is holding up beautifully...but what can I put on these boots to help soften them up? They don’t hurt my feet, I just want them to look more broken in.

To find out if it’s oiled you just have to push on the leather from the inside of the boot and if the color becomes lighter it’s oiled leather.
To condition them you would want to use something with no waxes in it like the Saphir oiled leather cream.
It will darken and restore the color so if you want the more worn look you just need to wear them more.

Those boots need a conditioning and polishing in the worst way. And boot trees.
