Why a JL statue in Penny Lane when Paul was the one who wrote the song? Paul also lives in England and promotes the country while John left with wife to NY?
Because the Beatles always wrote under ‘The Beatles’ even if they wrote separately and he was from Liverpool too. John did plenty to promote when In the Beatles. They had no privacy in Britain, especially from the media. In light in recent events I think it’s no harm.

Paul McCartney definitely wrote a master piece with Penny Lane! I'm only guessing that John liked the song... though he never said so... Thank you Paul for writing such a fantastic composition!
@@johnmc3862 ... Paul stated that there was only one time John took the time to mention to him personally that he really like one of the songs he came up with: “Once. I love that song.’ And I’m like, ‘Yes! He likes it!’ ” Now, there's also a Lennon interview in which he felt that Paul was not always sensitive to his song writing skills, and that was during the writing for "Elenor Rigby," Paul needed two more verses and instead of asking Lennon directly for help, he told John, George and the engineers in the room to "please finish the lyrics to the song" and then left the studio... again, John states that Paul didn't even mention "John's" name and didn't even look at him, he directed the request to all in the room... and John felt insulted and insecure about Paul after that, and he said "Paul could be very insensitive to we, the rest of the band." Paul also claims he complimented John many times, usually after a few beers... so who knows!
