I think it would be awesome if they made a game about Sparda's story! I've always been curious to know his story, pretty sure you guys have thought of it also :-D
Yea we thought of it, but Sparda would be a lot different than Dante. He won’t have the corny personality and the game will most likely be set in hell. So I think fans will expect something but get something else entirely. That’s why I personally think having a mode where you can play as sparda in a normal dmc game would be better.
Now that I look at this again, this does look like a Resident Evil game. Kinda. I heard that the people who worked on this were trying to make a resident evil game.
Yes, originally it was supposed to be Resident Evil 4, but it didn’t fit the formula for the series, so rather than scrapping it, they made this beautiful series.
I wish they would have. Just like how I wish in Code Veronica X Steve's VA had some different voice direction, hard to sympathize when the delivery is killing the mood.
So the first time I saw this game I expected something sure melodramatic and overblown based pretty much solely on its name (I never knew anything about DMC before playin it in 2015 I want to say). Instead, I get greeted with an explosion, some crazy attacks with the silhouettes of Dante and Trish on fire, and there’s some crazy rock music in the background, all before the title screen even appears. ...How does that not instantly become your favorite game? The fact that that opening is *tame* compared to later games is only the icing on the cake.

Nick Lancial And Trish is still making fun of Dante of his inability of get women lol But they still looks like together, although it's kind of creepy since they keep saying Trish looks exactly like his mother.... Anyway, feel sorry for Lady, or Dante, mmmmh, probably Dante
I don't think there is a point in making fun of this game by looking at the graphics. Back then the graphics weren't updated as they are now, but definately they had a good story. afterall this is how it all started just one title "Devil May Cry" and the journey went up to "Devil May Cry 5". "Dante..." "Don't come any closer, you devil!! You may look like my mother but you're nowhere close to her! You have no soul. You have the face but you'll never have her fire!!" Even without having played it, that may be my favorite dialogue in the game.
Juicio_final This one is my second favorite game in the series. If the enemies had a bit clearer warning for their attacks, especially Frosts and Nobodies, and they had an option of a mission screen, then this one might have been my favorite. it's only not my very favorite because it limits your playability tremendously in such a practice-worthy game. but yeah if it had the same playability and clearer warnings just like in 3, then I might like this better

the one that got butchered in 5 was Vergil, they took his sarcasm away, made him nothing but serious and edgy, like DMC 2 Dante
@@icarustar2457 i mean.. he didn’t get much screentime as the other characters did not to mention its his first canonical appearance after dmc3 which takes place before dmc1 so yeah id imagine virgil is a bit scarred after all the stuff with mundus
Regardless of that, the end last scene with him and dante fighting and also his taunts when you play as him in DMC5SE shows he still has the sort of fun sarcastic side
@@icarustar2457 no he still has it, you can tell in the moments he has with dante.
This game REALLY touches my heart man. The music is just WOW. The longer you went into the game, the darker it got as well as weapons got bigger. Definitively historic when it came out n whole damn reason why I bought PS2 when this came out!
Memes aside, the part where he was talking about his mother is just so good that I want it deep written inside my head. The Sparda sword where it can transform into different types of weapon is sick.
Wow dante only spared trish cause both of there mothers name was martha (:V)
Dude 😂
omds
WHY DID YOU SAY THAT NAME!??!?!?!
MARTHAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I swear this is where Batman vs superman scene came from
"Goodbye. And when you do come back, give my regards to my son will ya?" xD
Technically Nero Is also his son by biology and shit because vergil is Dante's TWIN brother not just his brother.
@@aithanleeom5152 how does that work? Neo is only Dante's nephew.
Dante never had a kid, so it looks like Mundus will have to settle for giving regards to his nephew
@@ewancook351 regardless of sparda genetics Nero could have been born with red aura's and a red devil bringer despite being vergils son Dante and Vergil are twin brothers as I said before not just brothers with separate blood
Whether if vergils power is blue Dantes is red sparda blood can come in any color regardless of whether it's Dante or Vergil.
.... one of the GREATEST PlayStation 2 Games I've ever played....
It's about damn time time somebody knew what ALL cut scenes means! I check them in the game and the only ones they show are the ones that are like over a minute and what not but YOU know what "all cut scenes" means unlike almost everybody else. Great job, bro!
Never completed the game as a kid but my god this is one of my most nostalgic games and Dante from this dmc is still one of my favourite video game characters to date. Probably been 15 years since I played. Good times!
5:32-5:49 was NIGHTMARE FUEL for me when I was a lad.
+Josh Myers LMAO
Why?
is it just me that I got emotional when the bird died and he was calling his master and his master killed him and Dante was pissed that the master killed the bird. am I the only person who cried in 16:56
I almost cried
Esmeralda Cortez That was pretty damn sad. 😔
I know. Killing the bird? Like who does that? Poor massive thing.
These were the birds final words ahem
Wait no please stop ma nooo! Ah! ahhhhh!!!!!
this thread is very emotional
My favorite DMC game and my favorite Dante ever.
Old game yet better than anything being released now
***** And it didn't even have support for 1080p XD !!
Tiviat you are one stupid rich ass dum
We are not humans we are gamers we play game not pixels like minecraft u sick
Seriously not though. You must really have a small library of games if you think this is better than games some newer games released now.
@@AttackOnFullMetalon the contrary games today have no soul in them , there are very few games now that are actually crafted with care as opposed to the obsessive pursuit of greed
Thank you for this! When I played the game, in every single cutscene the audio was about 15 seconds ahead of the video.
LOLover69
that's a lot holy nigga dayum
Reku Heims Ikr. It was infuriating.
Ah, I know that issue it seems to happen when I play on Standard TV it's fucking distracting as hell.
"You have her face but you'll never have her fire!" God damn bro the music and that scene are fuckin emotional. They don't make shit like this anymore
Mundus: Dante, i will return
Dante: Good bye and when u do come back give my regards to my son jajaja this Dante is the true Dante, sorry ninja no matter how hard u try to make us love your emo Dante there is no way he wins against the REAL DANTE SPARDA.
2020 and we're still waiting for dante's son :(
I think it would be awesome if they made a game about Sparda's story!
Somethings are better left a mystery.
Hideki Kamiya has said he wants to do a game about Sparda, but I dont know if that was meant as a joke 🤷♂️
@Pedro Malavet get the original people who made dmc1, the theme from 3 and then we'd have a game
It would be a dating simulator where Sparda has to rizz up eva
What type of nightclub closes at 9pm?
Devil may cry is a service shop, not a nightclub.
God this takes me back. I love this series, i love the reboot too, but nothing beats
li-iigght 32:58
DmC: Devil May Cry is not Devil May Cry. Please, do not put DmC before the title as that confuses people with the reboot and the classics.
Looks like he fixed it. OP actually delivered
I agree with the phoenix, even in my country the people call dmc:devil may cry of devil may cry 5
The reboot kinda sucked
trish looked beautiful in this game
I'd say she was the prettiest in 4.
"I should have been the one to fill your dark soul with LIIIGHT!!!" Couldn't they have done, you know, a different take? 32:56
+RatchetandSly his voice even cracks
kumagawa with a mustache I guess voice acting wasn't a priority back then. lol
I wish they would have. Just like how I wish in Code Veronica X Steve's VA had some different voice direction, hard to sympathize when the delivery is killing the mood.
What about vergil rip
So the first time I saw this game I expected something sure melodramatic and overblown based pretty much solely on its name (I never knew anything about DMC before playin it in 2015 I want to say). Instead, I get greeted with an explosion, some crazy attacks with the silhouettes of Dante and Trish on fire, and there’s some crazy rock music in the background, all before the title screen even appears.
...How does that not instantly become your favorite game? The fact that that opening is *tame* compared to later games is only the icing on the cake.
Dante looks awesome on the first game.
32:53
Liiiiiiiiiiiiighhhtt XD
Dat voice crack
Lite! (Lite) (Lite) (Lite)
XD
Hmmmmmm . . . I think I saw this before . . . . . . . Oh yes I remember now . . . W . . . WHAT DO I FIGHTING FOOOOOOOOOOR ???????
A man with guts and honor, i like that.
Happy 20 Years Devil May Cry🎂! Thank you for giving us our favourite Demon Hunter Dante, our demonic beauty Trish, our Vergil, Mundus, amazing boss fights and devil arms! For More Years to come!
Mundus: I will come back and rule this world
Dante: .......if you ever come back, *while pointing at Trish* take regards to my son will you?"
-did Dante and Trish really had an unborn child??.. and what i dont undrstand is that how did these two lover fell in love in the first place??
he didnt point to her, he just did a standing bow
This game was soooo impressive for its time!!! Truly an awesome game!
I Bought this game off a whim when I was like 21 years old and remember being so glad I bought it. Me and my girlfriend at the time would just do what young couples do at that age non stop and lay in bed and play this game. And she would love the story line and tell me to play more. awesome times
For me this is how it flows
DMC3
DMC1
DMC"Animated Series"
DMC2
And lastly
DMC4
And DmC doesn't involve in the past classics its a new version they did
sorry but that can't be possible seeing as how serious dante is on dmc2 more mature and if dmc2 is before dmc 4 wouldn't lucia be in the office more than trish and lady? because she ran the place when dante was in the demon world i think your right but dmc2 took place after dmc4
Robertzon Torrevillas Yeah he would've been right on the money if he swapped DMC2 in DMC4's place.
This si how it REALLY is
Devil may cry 3
Devil may cry
Devil may cry 4
Devil may cry 2
Animated series doesn't count
The animated series was considered Canon, it took place between DMC 1 and 4
The anime was pretty bad, best to ignore it.
Better than all of the games of 2014 so far
25:20 never gonna forget this scene
you have the face but youll never have her fire!
I hope they will do a remake of this one some day, seriusly the best Devil May Cry. Dante is badass in this one, his design is just superb!
DMC 2 was my introduction into the survival horror/action gaming genre so its automatically my favorite
28:14 is just pure badass.
The scene where Dante saves Trish ended up making me cry. Strange, since its considerably hard to make me shed. I probably haven't done anything other than mildly water due to feels for a long, long time.
Tyrant 666 I cry a lot to media, but their relationship (and dialogue) was so corny that I couldn’t do anything but laugh.
One of the GREATEST franchises in gaming.
This video filled my dark soul with light.
For real though the Sparda Sword cutscene is the most epic thing ever.
that lava spider is the most memorable thing in my gaming life xD , without seeing it for so long it looks the same way i imagined it and its abilities.
this was my first game on playstation 2 back in 2001 .. this game is so epic and legendary ! for 2001 it was the best game i ever played .... a
With the release of DMC 5, I hope they do a remake of the first game like they did with resident evil. Just imagine DMC 1 with better dialogue, a Bloody Palace mode, Daniel Southworth as Vergil/Nelo Angelo, playable Trish, Reuben Langdon as Dante, Style changing and up to date graphics.
No this VA was really good
Bloody Palace and Trish would be cool, but I like these voices, also if they dared to touch this OST I would throw fire
"More than enough."
My fav dmc game, so underrated and I obsessed this Dante
32:55 i don't know why but i just find this scene so funny
Because his voice cracks when he said "LIIIIIIIGHT"
First time seeing this scene, I basically interpreted it as "somethingsomething dARK SOULS MAJOR VOICE CRAAAAAAAAAAAACK"
so was electricity the theme of this game? lol
Guess so
well thats a shocker. (^_^)'
Kari Sena
I clicked to join your community thingy, but all I was trying to do was tell you nice icon picture.lol
Thanks xD
Anytime!
25:44
Trish: "Dante!"
Dante: "DOGN'T COMHE ANY CLOSEHR YOU DEVIGLHGG!!"
YOU MAY LOOK MY MY MOTHER BUT YOU ARE NO CLOSE TO HER.
YOU HAVE HER FACE BUT YOU WILL NEVER HAVE HER FIRE!!!
thanks for uploading this. It's good to review the story after playing the new one.
think it would be interesting if they went back to the main series and made a game with Dante's son
Nick Lancial trish would be the mother
they insist that trish and dantes relationship isn't romantic in nature but if thats true than stop making it look like it is lol
they look good together , thats all matters ,
they do....but u can't help if Dante has a mom fetish cause remember Trish was modeled after his mom
Nick Lancial And Trish is still making fun of Dante of his inability of get women lol
But they still looks like together, although it's kind of creepy since they keep saying Trish looks exactly like his mother....
Anyway, feel sorry for Lady, or Dante, mmmmh, probably Dante
This game was so awesome. The graphics and gameplay were unbelievable. Dante's badass.
Cutscenes: Dante cannot die.
Gameplay: Dante CAN die
Nathan drake is literally the exact opposite
Difficulty : Dante must Die
This brings back memories, thanks for uploading.
One of my favourites games of all times.
These cutscenes are beautiful in every way
One of the greatest PlayStation games ever.
I don't think there is a point in making fun of this game by looking at the graphics.
Back then the graphics weren't updated as they are now, but definately they had a good story.
afterall this is how it all started just one title "Devil May Cry" and the journey went up to "Devil May Cry 5".
BEST GAME I'VE PLAYED.
THANKS CAPCOM
I don't care about the graphics. I play games only for gameplay and yes this game is worth playing better than other game in today
DMC3 is the best DMC ever.
Totally agree:D
"Dante..."
"Don't come any closer, you devil!! You may look like my mother but you're nowhere close to her! You have no soul. You have the face but you'll never have her fire!!"
Even without having played it, that may be my favorite dialogue in the game.
Dmc1's Dante >> other dantes
Sorry.
Yes
I like his early 2000s GTA demeanor
that controller massage in the intro was so great
Best devil may cry ever...people saying third part is the best didn't play this one for sure
Juicio_final it is force edge
Juicio_final
This one is my second favorite game in the series. If the enemies had a bit clearer warning for their attacks, especially Frosts and Nobodies, and they had an option of a mission screen, then this one might have been my favorite. it's only not my very favorite because it limits your playability tremendously in such a practice-worthy game. but yeah if it had the same playability and clearer warnings just like in 3, then I might like this better
possibly my favourite franchise, badass protagonist, amazing combat, even though dmc2 ruined it, dmc1 3 and 4 made up for it
DMC 1 is cool i dont like the reboot of the series i has long time a idea that capcom should make a dmc based on the storie of sparda kicking mundus ass for the First time
hey they might be making that game about sparda or dmc reboot 2 or dmc 5 where nero goes to hell to save dante
can somebody say can DMC 1,2,3 run somehow on PC? DMC 4 is made for PC around 2008 I think but I'm not sure about 1st three. I think somehow old series are more fascinating than new design. But also great game
love this game.. definitely the best devil may cry, and probably my most favourite game ever.
Normally I find hammy dialog annoying, but in Devil May Cry it sounds so awesome!
No problem, sorry for the wait ^_^
What a good fucking story, when people say dmc3 beats this its sure as hell not by a landslide.
Dmc 3 has better ratings and made more money. Dmc 3 even made more money than the reboot. Dmc 1 and 2 were the only dmc games that didn't make more than the reboot. Plus it has better ratings as well. You think dmc 1 is the best which is fine, everyone has their own opinions but the majority of dmc fans thinks dmc 3 is the best the online ratings and revenue proves this.
18:53 Every DmC fan's face when they first saw DmC Devil May Cry.
+kazoojar Lol. died
Lol
"I should've been the ONE TO FILL YOUR DARK SOUL WITH LI(squeak)GHT! LI(squeak)GHT! LI(squeak)GHT! LI(squeak)GHT!"
LOLOLLO
Ah... back in the day when subtitles were just for whenever you wanted them, apparently.
I know that they're used when someone thought "this voice is going to be too modulated for people to figure out" but this was ALSO before the days of "reliable sound-mixing from triple-A companies" so there are times where I can barely hear Dante over the music and that's just as bad as if they put a bunch of filters on his voice.
