  • Check out our time codes below! We got asked to remove a huge cluster of tree stumps weighing 5,000 pounds in a backyard to make room for a new addition. With only a few inches to spare we managed to squeeze our Case 145 Excavator down the side of the house and into the backyard. The stump put up a fight but ultimately lost as we dug it out of the ground and loaded it into our dump trailer and hauled it to the dump. #excavator #construction #destruction

    I once removed a stump that weighed 5001 lbs. bet this was close to that.

    How did you weigh the stump?

      Good question. It gets weighed in my trailer at the transfer station/dumps scale.

    That case doesn’t have much power. John Deere 120 works great and has a lot of downward pressure. Tap roots are pretty tough.

      @DemolitionManMike  3 місяці тому +1

      I'd have to disagree. Our case excavator has plenty of power and where it really shines is fuel efficiency. I've ran lots of Deere equipment and they don't compare to fuel efficiency of our Case. Power wise I would say they are comparable. In many situations when a job is tough operator skills and tricks/technique are more important than equipment power. But I appreciate your comment

      Yes I do.lol. Definition of a stump: the bottom part of a tree left projecting from the ground after most of the trunk has fallen or been cut down. 😃

    there are many better machines for this job , if you make some money someday , buy a chainshaw to shaw the roots. saves some time

      @carlahrens1411 are you kidding a chainsaw for a stump that big that deep in the ground ...

    • @DemolitionManMike
      @DemolitionManMike  3 місяці тому

      🤔 digging the stump out of the ground only took me an hour. Chainsaws do not like dirt or sand and unfortunately the roots are in the ground. I'm guessing that would have added time to our task and not been as fun.
