  • Inspired by Solastalgia-the deep sorrow rooted in environmental change-choreographer Kasia Witek crafts a visceral response to our climate crisis. Her movement language, set against Alex Roth's resonant double bass score, weaves politics of care with a profound sense of emotional resilience and hope. Six dancers wield 3-meter wooden staffs, transforming them into living sculptures and offering them a platform to speak. As these quiet forms carve through space, they challenge our perception of nature as “other”, evoking a shared sense of togetherness.
Kasia Witek is a Polish-born, UK-based dance artist and choreographer. Her work spans installation, video, theatre and outdoor performance. Human kinship with the non-human environment is a central theme in much of her work as both a maker and performer. Her deep passion for music permeates all of her projects and she often collaborates closely with composers and musicians to create multi-sensory experiences. Her works include commissions for UN Climate Change Conference, National Polish Theatre, London Symphony Orchestra, National Polish Opera. She has been nominated for Arts Foundation Futures Awards 2025 for Dance.
