- In this brief video we put the Skar Audio SKv2-2500.1D Class D Monoblock Amplifier through a series of tests on our SMD AD-1 Amplifier Dyno to measure the true output power.
The amplifier Dyno is a popular test used to measure the true output power of an amplifier, and in this video we put on display the results of all 3 tests, including Certified, Un-Certified, and Dynamic runs.
Certified Power at 1 Ohm: 2,537 Watts @ 13.22v
Un-Certified Power at 1 Ohm: 2,604 Watts @ 13.03v
Dynamic (Burst/Peak) Power at 1 Ohm: 3,108 Watts @ 13.88v
**Certified Power - Measures the amplifiers RMS Power output up until distortion/clipping begins, and is the most accurate method used to obtain clean and true power output results.

The only issue with scar anmps is the efficiency. But in that price range low efficiency is acceptable

Please run a 12.6 volt really accurate test... at 16 volts everything puts out more power!!!

Skar ftw. Run both of the Skv2 2500 and 3500 and they perform better than expected can bass hard for hours with no heat or shutdown without the use of any fan at the recommend 1 ohm load.

Dang, i really want one for my truck. I get my new sdr this week. Eventually I’ll upgrade to dual evl’s but i have to keep back seats for now. Lol.

I just swapped out my vxf dv4 for a zvx dv2. I destroyed my Rockford 1500bdcp amp due to vibration. I hope the sk2500 exceeds expectations. Skar for life tho. Love the products.
They start it that high at 16v cus it sucks up so much juice. Still ends up at 13

I have a 12 volt XS power battery just for this amp. Is it ok or should I go with a 14 volt? I have stock alternator for now but will change it when I can afford a mechman 250 or around that.

Ik this is wayyyy late lmao but no the result would be slightly higher because your putting in more power and 14.4 is the recommended voltage so it could achieve full power before reverse feeding

Why do you start voltage over 16 volts?
Because they are using a test bench. You have to start voltage higher due to not having an alternator to keep charging the batteries. The test bench is battery power only. If they started at 14.8, the batteries would drain to dangerous levels and damage the amp. In your car, the alternator constantly charges the batteries.

Voltage drops to 13 so if they ran 14 it would drop even more to around 11 so it makes sense wht its at 16

I push this beast at 15.2v daily to 1 sundown X12v2 @ 1ohm, does very well.. I was actually hoping for a test at .8 or a little lower, I've ran it .7 also with no issues.. just gotta have good electrical.. it loves my mechman 370a elite and dual 1/0 power and grounds
I have 1 of this. I order 2 Sundown sa v2 12s, 1000watts per sub. I know they are underrated. Do you think I will be fine pushing those subs with this amp? I haven't seen much dyno test of this amplifier
