Are old life magazines worth anything
I have probably five to seven years of different magazines I’m gathering up to take to nursing homes and thought I’d watch this beforehand. Thank you for all the information you pass along to us. It’s greatly appreciated!

Just picked up a drawer of computer magazines. Knew that some of them from early 90's we're worth some money to collectors, though didn't go through everything at the moment. We'll low and behold, Nintendo Power Magazine #1 was in the lot to my surprise. Bought for $25. Debating on selling or keeping! Also picked up Life Post Issue with Mantle and maris for $2! That one is a keeper though! Definitely still mag's to collect out there for steals!
I regret getting rid of all my Interview magazines from the 80s! They were great works of art. 🤦♀️
I missed out...had many but not 1 at the time I met Andy Warhol at the Pier Show In NYC back then...& I was a dealer there! Ughhhh!

Always scan the bookshelves. One estate sale years back (at a lakeside vacation cottage) netted me 5 Flying Aces and Weird Stories pulps from the 1930s!

Question, I have the 1st issue of Newsweek from 1933 and the 1st issue of time magazine from 1923 (the actual copy that reads the William Printing Company on the lower center back cover), my Question is this, do you know what the value of these two magazines maybe? Also, I'm very happy to run into your channel and will subscribe since I have been seeking a channel that talks about Magazines.

That was so funny, and reminded me of a dangerous coworker I knew in the mid 1980s. She was a beautiful girl, she was a runner up in the Miss Texas beauty pageant that year, and participating in beauty pageants seemed to be about 95% of her knowledge. She could only read at about a 2nd grade level, but the boss liked having eye candy around.
One day, I saw her pull two drawers all the way out on a big filing cabinet, and when I saw her start to pull the top drawer out too, I ran across the room yelling "NO! CLOSE IT!". I caught it in time as it was starting to tip by shoving my shoulder against it with all my might. She stood there looking like a deer in the headlights, as I explained, "ONE drawer at a time!".
A couple of weeks later, she did it again, but that time she heard me when I said "NOOOO!". She had to be watched like a toddler, and one boss actually told me I needed to help her by basically babysitting her, which I was already doing because I could see she was struggling. I asked that boss which of my other responsibilities should I ignore, since I couldn't be in 2 places at once.
She quit after a few weeks, complaining the job was too hard.

Yes every time you put Vintage magazines in UK ebay either sold or listed it's usually adult. I'm hesitant to sell them though.

Me, who randomly has that 1997 George magazine somewhere for some reason: Nice. Glad I watched this video!! But dammit, where did I last see that thing?! I have boxes and papers to go dig through now… gosh, I hope I didn’t throw it out for some reason! Now I’m glad I’ve held on to so many pieces of “worthless junk”, just in case. ONE item having a value of over $1k that I don’t even remember why or where I got it is totally worth it! 😂

How u sell them at penny auctions
I worked in a collectibles store in the late 1980s. We advertised in the Yellow Pages that "we buy old stuff". I cannot tell you how many times a day the phone would ring and the conversation would go "Hi, I saw your ad ; you buy old stuff?" . "Yes we do". "I have really really really old NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC magazines". "No, sorry we don't buy those". Voice on the other end was always "Well, what should I do with them?" . LOL. If I had a dollar , for every National Geographic phone call we got over the years .... I would have enough money to build a theme park AND pay Brad Pitt to work the rides . The OTHER constant 24/7 phone call was "Do you buy the OLD 78 records?" . LOL. My boss at the time would only by Rock n' Roll 78's so I'd be all "No, we only buy rock n' roll 78's like Elvis and Buddy Holly". Voice at the other end, always with the same inflection "OH NO- these are MUCH older ! I have Waltzes , Opera, Guy Lombardo, Benny Goodman, yada yada yada". Again, if I had one dollar per Old 78s phone calls: I could hire Leonardo DiCaprio to wash my car and clean my bathroom on a weekly basis.
WE DID buy entire runs of LIFE magazines. And more than once ! Let me tell you - your GROIN better be in good shape to lift the ENTIRE run of Life magazine ! I remember my boss would ALWAYS check for that one issue that contained a REAL baseball card from the 1950s . I cannot remember if it was a Roger Maris card or someone else......

Can anyone share if there's anything to fake sealed books, magazines and albums? Or if Dom has spoken on this in a previous video? I'm suspect unless it's been graded but see they sell.
I have 2yrs of late 1990's penthouse magazines, half of which are still in the black plastic sleeve as I never opened them. My wife bought me a two year subscription back then. I have them shoved in a closet in a spare bedroom. I have no idea what they are worth or where I'd even be able to sell them.
Sold some old Jet magazines for hundreds, though pretty beat up. They around the time of Martin Luther King Jr. Magazines can get heavy and tedious but they intresting looking through some.

Here's a niche item that can bring decent money -- heavy-metal music fanzines from the 1980s, especially titles that covered thrash metal bands like Metallica, Slayer, Exodus, and so forth. (Just look for photos where everyone in the band is wearing leather and studs and grimacing.)
I think I have the first edition of high times as a matter of fact I have several of the first few they pit out. I would never trust selling anything on ebay but it sure would be nice to cash them out.

Extremely late to comment on this. Kicking myself over throwing away my Nintendo power issues. I had 2 good copies of the first issue. Also the one with the Castlevania cover and every issue for years. They were all in good condition 😔
I'm seeing a whole lot of nintendo power #1 on ebay currently and it looks like they've got to be near mint and graded to get anything above a couple hundred dollars- plenty of nice looking copies listed for 200+ just sitting there with no watchers. I just got very excited bearing that #1 is so valuable cuz I have it and 3 & 4 but now that I dug them out I see that theyre not in great shape, basically worthless with so many better looking copies already listed and not selling. So its not really rare to come by, its just rare to find mint. You made it sound like a hen's tooth that would sell for $1000 no matter what. Its good to know tho- I'll be on the lookout at garage sales etc.
