…..March 2023……you’ve retired from Superkarts…..why?!!!! I thought, maybe you ‘ran’ other drivers(who can’t spanner) as part of your team, at a cost, obviously Rob. Cheers Ian
That motor looks a work of art! I’m surprised that you can still use 2 strokes and rules haven’t pushed you all to four strokes like the motor bikes? Good luck for the year Rob 👍
I really appreciate your support Rob! Thank you mate! To answer your question the twin cylinder 250cc 2 stroke engines remain to be the fastest engine homologated for Superkarts. The 450cc 4 stroke is actually growing substantially over the years and is a very popular class, similar to that of the 250cc single engine class (similar speeds). I honestly can’t wait to show you my upcoming races in the twin! Hope you join me on here for the next one! 👍🔥 take care
coz karting isn't full of weak people. 2-stroke for life. Also the move to 4-steokes on bikes was forced really by the major manufacturers. Karting is full of almost exclusively 2-stroke engine manufacturers. MX/SX would still be 2-stroke if it were up to competitors.
Finally somebody makes superkart vlogs, waiting for so long I have to say this is fantastic ! Good Luck, I´m looking forward to follow the journey. Cheers Mate
One of the guys(I think builders name was Roland Sands)from the Discovery Show biker Build off put one in a bike. It was mostly for a TV show so not much follow up on performance.
Thank you Simon!! I will be giving it the full beans!! Can’t wait for Silverstone test day coming soon in Feb! Then first race at Silverstone Full GP circuit in March 12th!! Please subscribe and come on this journey with me matey!! 🔥🔥
It was my first time doing this kind of ‘vlog/update’ sort of video so very different for me! I would imagine it get easier with time lol! 😂 next video will be the collection of my new Chassis which I can’t wait!! Hit the subscribe mate and catch you on the next one 🔥
A prediction? Prepare yourself for a very sore face after your first run in your new cart with this engine. Why? Your smile for the entire time - and you won’t be able to, as it’s said, ‘wipe it off your face’. Can’t imagine the speeds you’ll achieve! As others have already said, best wishes for your safety, success and fun during the season ahead! 🙌🏻
Thank you mate!! I really appreciate it! We should be hitting around the 160mph mark so it’s pretty insane!! I’m doing a Superkart Q&A video next week so let me know if you have any questions for the video! 🔥🔥
Thank you mate! It’s going to be a hard learning curve in the new Superkart but it’ll be fun to watch regardless! I’ll be giving it the full beans! 🔥 appreciate the support and see you at Silverstone video soon!! 🏁🏁🏁
why did you choose this engine over a PVP? Is it cheaper? I noticed the pvp has a autoblip on the upshift , i'm geussing the VM does not have this? Would be interesting to know what the rebuild hours/cost is vs the single cylinder 250, i'm guessing its shorter because its higher revving? I ran a single cylinder 200cc TKM back in the day on short tracks, the 16000rpm meant it had to be rebuilt every 8 hours of running! I hope you use your helmet cam for this season as the footage is mega! good luck for the season!
Great question mate! The PVP is undoubtably a great engine. A few factors came into play as to why I chose VM. 1) was that the all the top runners in the division 1 Superkart class are on the VM engine. 2) I am apart of the Redspeed Team and my team mate is also on a VM so we can share data and support each other. 3) I am in close links with Harvey Motorsport who are the VM engine UK importer and I use their dyno services too. 4) spare parts are fully readily available and easily accessible. Taking all that into account the VM seemed the right package for me mate! Ah the helmet cam footage, I actually got blacked flagged after 1 lap at Donnington for having it on! However I will deffo try again! 😂💪🔥
@@MyRob10 bloody hell that's quick! It's hard to get an idea of speed from your cart footage but that puts things in perspective. Your either bonkers or crazy! Good luck with the season mate!
It is yes my first one. Crazy how much pop they can get from a 250 some proper engineering there. Best of luck with the extra horses. It's obvious you have the ability.
@@seanadamson280 ah mate that means a lot! Yeah it’s very surprising for sure!! They are Utterly crazy to drive so can’t wait to share my first race with everyone on here! 🚀💪 catch you on the next one dude! 🏁
How much would a twin cylinder kart cost to purchase both new and second hand? Where is a good source to find a twin cylinder kart for sale. Thanks in advance rob
It really does vary! You can pay anything from 10K 2nd hand right up to 20K + for brand new! I would recommend either Anderson Karts or harvey motorsport!
Hi Rob, great vids, look forward to racing you in this years championship. 👍 I don’t suppose you could give CHRacing Carl Hulme a mention in your reports, I’ve also been trying to promote the behind the scenes eg, in the shed, desperate to get more subscribers. See you soon. 👍

Really insightful, you seem to know your stuff. I wish you all the best in the new season and hope you can get the most out of the new engine!

The forced air box was already used for the Rotax 256 in 1985
Yes it is brilliant 🤩

Well this is the most advanced Twin cylinder 250cc bespoke Superkart engine there is. Hence why the top European lads use it and set lap records.
