Saban has won 7 national titles at the highest level of college football and put hundreds of men in the NFL, he has earned the right to give constructive criticism to his players.

It prevents you from slacking off and being lazy, but it can also cause people to quit. But that's not all he does threw out the whole practice. They should also show when he not yelling.
I know one of the things you don't want to do is tell a person he's doing a good job job when he's slacking but you also don't want to beat down a person when he's working his butt off. I think you need a combination of both, which I think chris Saber does. Lmao, I can't imagine constantly getting yelled at the whole time. I'm sure most of it is more of pushing you.
If a player is willing to quit because he doesn't like to be yelled at, he shouldn't be on the team.

I played all the way to the college level in football and was in military. The best coaches and military leaders that got the best from me and my team were the one’s who didn’t have to talk to us like slaves.

As a Marine Veteran, I also instantly know what kind of douche canoe you were like serving with.
Depends on the group of guys you got. At alabama you have a whole lot of guys who have been the shit their whole life, who’s attitudes need to be kept in check. Not all, but lots of em.

That's why college coaches don't often translate well to the NFL. In college, they can be a dictator. Do what I say or you're off the team. In the NFL, every single player makes more than you, even most of the people who don't start. They have contracts so you can't just cut them half the time. There's ownership and GMs who want to keep that player even when the coach doesn't. You just can't be a dictator/micromanager in the NFL. At least not as the coach. It's easier as the owner but even then it backfires. i.e.Jerry Jones.
Makes sense why the patriots had such a run. Obviously Brady has a lot to do with it but even he admits that because he chose to take that type of treatment on the chin from Belichick it resonated w other players and they all bought in and was a huge reason they won multiple chips cause no one was above the coaching and criticism that it really takes to make people better players. This type of behavior might not be “appropriate” but it’s effective and it demands results, often winning ones.
Probably why he hates NIL so much. College kids making millions has to lead to some weird dynamics with their coaches.

Cap! They can definitely cut you whenever. Only a small handful of players have that level of immunity. They don’t want to pay you dead cap space, so they’ll just *not* start &/or play you if you get uppity/underperform. That way, the front office will see you as trash and get rid of you. Contract or no contract. Those players likely wont be able to afford the lawsuit, & thus take the “L”.
I remember when Saban didn’t play Jay for 1 game and the backup QB’s played terrible against a trash team. 😩😂
In all honesty, the last couple seasons proved that Saban isn’t a good coach. He’s proved himself to be a great recruiter…… nothing more..
