Rossman in his "Rossman Repair Training Guide" google slides doc slide 146 - it says in green "Blown fuse. SUPER COMMON!!!" - I laughed as soon as you saw it was the fuse. Thanks for putting this up with close and detailed video of you running the probes to test.
Loverly job paul :-D, you made that connector look factory soldered, it looks original to me. The pcb looked clean, although i am used to watching louis and the heaps of crap he deals with lol.
For future events, I've ordered a set of different LCD connectors, of course it'll be almost a guarantee that I'll always get jobs in that need a connector I don't have. Yes, most of Louis's boards are vastly worse than what I get to see.
Yep "Sods law" dictates that in a box of 100 connectors, you won't have the one you need on one of your worst mood days ever. People say "Shit happens" but that really does not describe how pissed off you can feel sometimes, You are not alone lol . The stuff that louis deals with i would not touch with a barge pole, or any other kind of pole LOL :-D
Yes, "Sod's Law" definitely applies. Likewise with looking for that replacement cap... or resistor, and I've got every other value / size combination but the one required... typical :D
The TENMA is now in the back of the workshop. Its job will now be ... I'm not sure. They're good for iPhones but for the MB boards I'm glad to have the Quick now, need that extra push for some of these parts :(
That sucks, I ask because from what little I've read, I got the impression it's not legal to import uncertified hot-air stations, though I don't know if that applies to/is enforced for individuals. I was kind of hoping the situation would resolve itself given Quick's rising popularity.
Probably means just collecting a bunch of paperwork from Quick, handing it to some AU cert place with a wad of $ and they'll rubber stamp it and on you're on your way.

The 'small JTAG' connector is the SPI connector. There is no JTAG there.
Thanks for the nice videos.
You are technically correct, the best kind of correct. Calling it JTAG out of bad habits.
Paul Daniels I got called out about that from Mr CMIzapper recently too. It’s an SPI connection - whatever Dude 💥
The good old fuse 🙄 Nice video
Nice Video, sir on the same LogicBoard here r 8.2V on the backlight fuse, what is the solution?
Hello from Russia! excellent work
Wow, the fuse blew, that’s unheard of.

managed to find time for a repair mate!
Fellow repair tech, i didnt think it was necessary to replace the lvds connector on the board.

Nice lift on donor connector.
Has Quick got an Australian seller yet that has certified the 861 for Australian sale?
Not that I've seen. I ended up getting mine from UnionRepair with the Australian plug.

$1k for "overnight" approvals, $660 for general.
