I didn't find the voltage of 3.3 on the R7704. Is it a problem with the PCH?
On the R7704 I find the value of 0.8 v and 0.720 in diode scale.
Hi, changed U7701 and backlight work fine, but the screen show vertical color lines. The L7701 and D7701 have 112v (normal 50v say diagram), where is the problem now? Thanks!

The first circuit to be analyzed was BOOST designed by inductor, diode and transistor. You would have won there at least ten minutes of video. If existe normal condition about IC, of course, would have problem in IDT. Otherwise, good job!

I have a question, why do you need to remove all the boards from the MacBook to perform the troubleshoot?
If you connect the MacBook to an external monitor and to a keyboard you should be able to have the MacBook running without having to unmount everything.
I know it's not standard! lol but I'm a father of a two year old boy. Any time I can save is a bless!

Great video, easy to follow through the diagnostics, and the issue turned out to be a simple fix. I was wondering if the diode can be checked with resistance mode? I do not really understand how Diode measurement mode works
A diode is like a check valve, it allows power to flow in one direction but not the other (aka a gate). Resistance won’t check to see if the gate is closing to prevent backwards flow..

I tried to repair the Backlight and changes LP8550 but it didn't work.
Now i desolderd every component of the boost circuit and connected a new
boost converter from 5 V USB to 50 V directly to the pin 3&4. Why
dosent the screen light up?
Do you think the U7701 was damaged in this video as well？

You say 8v5 and 2V8 are correct values for R7731 but where did you saw theses correcte value reference ? I don't see them in schematic

@@asjidali8296 i guess cos this guy repairs loads of macbooks, and backlight not working is a common problem, so he just knows these values, maybe he has a working circuit where he can double check
I gave the same problem but if I disconnect my computer like that, impossible it ever works again

Because it huge chip no need for microscope unless you are blind as a bat

Imo they demonstrated the process of identifying the issue very well. I would rather watch a video that showing how they fixed the problem in great detail other than a modified one with problem fixed by a magic touch.
I was gonna do this by myself because it’s hard to find someone in my area that’ll repair mine...but na I’ll keep looking for someone to help 😂😅

I’m pretty sure in USA no one have skill to do something like that. They will just tell you buy new one instead or the labor is more expensive than a MacBook Air.
