Hie the last one of keepin the entire shell on.. You didn't devein the Prawns there. And it's very important to devein it right.
Most of the Chinese recipes are made with the whole prawns with the shell of skin on it.... It's only us Indians, who clean and devein the prawns before cooking....

Hi, do you usually wash and clean the prawns just before cooking or do you wash, clean and dry them and store in the fridge few hours before cooking ?
I usually wash and clean before cooking, I have friends who does the latter ..

There's also a blackish thread that runs through the underside. Is that also to be removed or is it harmless ?
That part under the body can be left without taking it out for smaller ones... However, larger prawns needs to be get rid of that as well...

Exactly, but you can remove it while pulling of the half head instead of cutting it like Varun did.. it comes along with the head
