I this whole cd on my current playlist. I love it. Right next to Echo and The Bunnymen, Jesus and Mary Chain, The Heart Throbs, Gene Love Jezebel. The best music ever!
This song brings so many memories, the month it was being played on KROQ Los Angeles, CA., I was falling in love with my first girlfriend, we lasted 12 years. I remember buying the song at tower records on Hollywood and recording this video on vhs from a tv show. There was no internet, no cell phones, and of course no social media, rest in peace NIck Marsh.
I remember finding this cassette in a $1 bin at a crummy record store. I still have it today. I absolutely love this track. It gits so perfectly in those John Hughes halcyon days of the 80s when I listened to this and the Plimsouls, The Alarm, Fleshtones and The Mighty Lemondrops...to name a few.
Just as the 80s were fading, this riff kept the grove going. It was my girlfriend's favorite song, loved listening to her sing it off-key as we'd cruise around Newport
Driving in my lowered light blue convertible VW. I played this cassette all the time. Yep I said cassette. How funny. Got to laugh at myself. Flesh for lulu. So cute
@@russfrancis4220 how funny, I still have my VW bug, its parked in the garage, i still love driving it around sometimes, I get in it and just something about the smell in it brings me back. Fun fun times!
@@russfrancis4220 ooh nice. Sounds like you really love those cars and your green plymouth. Ya I want a rag top VW now in red. I just can eat those VWs up, I just think they are so cute when they are in mint condition. I go to Pinterest a lot and love looking at all the bitchen bugs on there.
I was all over this when it was new, and few if anyone I knew had any idea who they were and many of the other alt bands of the time, I always felt like I had a great secret, a treasure everyone else was too obtuse to recognize, well, I still feel that way.
The irony of Nick Marsh's death is it occurred the same day I got the 'Flesh For Lulu' CD that has this hit. RIP Brother. Another '80s icon that has departed
I went to a memorial service for someone who was very loved. There were postcards with her picture and this song was quoted in it. Rest easy, Namella Kim and Nick Marsh. "Postcards from paradise say I want you. I want you to stay."
Napper from Florida just wanting thank that all the people from that little island in europe for producing some of the best music every made. Simply amaziing!
I'm happy that I at least got a chance to tell Nick how great and purely talented he was. I got into Flesh just a couple of years ago in highschool and their music actually helped me out a whole lot. I still give them a listen when I'm skateboarding or just chillin. I've made sure to spread the word about flesh. stoked to get a tattoo of the blue sisters
I have the sisters on my shoulder and this is one of my favorite songs to sing and play acoustically. I also have some early songs on theirs on my channel if anyone is interested.
Johnny Thunder's old White Falcon Gretch is in this video. What a masterpiece pop song. I fell in love with this song and the woman in this video. Still in love all these years later. Does anyone know who this goddess is?
It is amazing what good music was being made in the 80s but was not really given any sort of air play. The shame is that back then, without an internet, it was mostly by word or mouth, or maybe by MTV 120 minutes. I have discovered this band years later thanks to Paul Westerberg (of the Replacements) doing a cover of this tune. He also turned me into a Big Star fan. Ironically, the Replacements, who were largely under appreciated and relatively unknown, were influenced by so many great unknown musicians. Such a shame Nick died when he had so much more music to give us.
It's great that these artists immortalized themselves in these videos and in their music. Whatever happens later to them, forever into the future people will be able to witness them in their prime, and receive their inspiration.
One of those melodies of the 80s and 90s that resonates so many emotions of nostalgia of our youth. Those drives in your car, thinking of that girl being in love, and yet no one knowing about it; this beautiful song tells that story… Nick Marsh; I wish you were ‘still breathing’, we miss you.
Nick, I had the AMAZING chance to see Flesh For Lulu live in early '88 and it was a totally MIND-BLOWING experience!!!... So SAD that you're no longer here on Planet Earth but you left us with such a FUCKINGTASTIC music "repertoire" to remember you by that your songs will always be like Postcards From Paradise/Heaven to us all of your Flesh For Lulu fans!!!....
4 Years buddy. I miss you... would love to sit around a London bar with a whiskey having a chat and enjoying the songs in the summer breeze like the old days... can't believe it's been 4 fucking years Nick...

A postcard from paradise
Delivered by mortal hands
X marks the spot where you lay
Now the sun burns down on the sand
I watched you sleeping
Listened to you breathing
Wondered if you were dreaming, andf if you were
What were you dreaming?
And I fell under your spell
And I lay where I fell
So wind down your window
I think I'm gonna kiss you
I dont know what else to do
You send me
Postcards from paradise
Say I want you
You send me
Postcards from paradise
Yeah, you do
Like a car broke down in the rain
I just can't get started again
I want you
I want you to stay
Postcards from paradise
Delivered by mortal hands
X marks the spot where you lay
Now the sun burns down on the sand
There goes love again
7 day wondering
Out on the ledge again
Your'e threatening to jump again
Here comes temptation
Dragging it out again
Riding a bullet train
To your central nervous station
And I fell under your spell
And I lay where I fell
So wind down your window
I think I'm gonna kiss you
I dont know what else to do
You send me
