Welcome back to Jade Joob! We are back and for this series we are playing Kingdom Hearts
I am so excited to play Kingdom Hearts for the first time!
I can't wait to stream my whole Kingdom Hearts Playthrough with you all. I hope you all join me in each Video!
Kingdom Hearts is a series of action role-playing games created by Japanese game designers Tetsuya Nomura and Shinji Hashimoto, being developed and published by Square Enix. It is a collaboration between Square Enix and The Walt Disney Company, and is under the leadership of Nomura, a longtime Square Enix employee.
A young boy of 14, Sora and his friends Riku and Kairi dream of visiting outside worlds away from their home on Destiny Islands . So they decide to build a ship to sail out of there, but the night before Sora has weird dreams about darkness and light. He wakes up not knowing if their real or not.

You played this so fast… I mean I’ve never beaten kingdom hearts, so I’m once talk, but I’m impressed
This game had such a grip on me as a child. I was in love with disney movies as well as obsessed with final fantasy so this game was the perfect blend of all the magic that both worlds offer. Id recommend just watching the cutscenes for chain of memories next and not even wasting time with the gameplay. Most people dont like it because of how different it is from the mainline titles however its totally up to you if you want to push through it. Then DEFINITELY play KH2 after that. I dont think id be alone saying that is the best entry in the series.
The "simple & clean" theme is the best I've heard in a video game
After 21 years, the end still makes me so emotional no matter how many times I see it. Congratulations on finishing the first game in my all time favorite video game series! Can't wait to see if you'll play through the rest of the games 😊
Even after all these years, the ending still hits me in the feels. And just when Utada Hikaru's "Simple and Clean" starts playing, I get chills. Congrats on beating the first game!

I cried like a b***tch when I saw the picture he drew inside the cave and she saw it...... Oh man the 2nd was sooo tragic, the stories, the characters... 2nd game is full of tears and this ending was a prelude to that...

If you remember from the beginning of the game where if you beat your best friend in that fight you would give the star fruit to her, i think that fruit is like if you have it, it grants a wish, and he wanted to give it to Kairi because he loves her. In the story he lost and his friend gave the fruit to her instead. So he went back into the cave to draw the picture of his wish, the wish to tell her that he loves her. So when she saw it, she knew what it meant so she cried too and finish drawing the picture of her giving him the fruit also. Meaning she also loves him. Yeah its a tragic ending for a Disney/Final Fantasy game at that.... Which is brave for 2002.
Love these games, in the middle of KH3 now. The ending to the first one still gets me everytime.
The final ending no I love this play through is there another kingdom hearts game after this watching you play this entire game was so much fun and enjoyable ☺️☺️❤️❤️

Hi Jade ❤ thanks for starting you KH journey! I love that you included the ending song believe me! Not many people who play these games does because of the copyright, thats why I'm leaving this comment, even though I love to hear the music and rewatch the ending with your reaction, maybe going forward in the series it would be good to replace the intro and ending song of the games because the copyright will pop up for you. Except on Dream drop distance but there's still a long way till that game.
Believe I love when people include the music of the ending and intro of my favorite series of all time that it's KH, but I wouldn't want for you to get a copyright strike everytime you start and finish these games :(
Would've loved to see you check out Neverland, Agrabah, Hollow Bastion and The Colosseum again for some secret boss fights. Also, there's a lot more to discover and items to find for crafting. But if you're okay with just finishing the main story, then that's fine. You can always check it out off-screen and give your opinion later. The additional content is not mandatory anyways. Looking very much forward to your playthrough of the next games in the franchise 😉
Really loved this playthrough! My one recommendation for future titles is to give your thoughts on what's happening with the story and characters more between cutscenes and during the credits, as we'd love to know what's going on in your head! Glad you enjoyed the game!!

Congrats on beating your first Kingdom Hearts game! I hope you’ll continue the series. The next game in the story is Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories.
Fair warning, the gameplay takes a pretty drastic shift. Try it out, and if you don’t like it, make sure you watch a video of all the cutscenes before continuing onto Kingdom Hearts 2.
Also, back in Hollow Bastion, in the room where you fought Maleficent in her dragon form, there’s a hidden secret waiting for you. Good luck.

Congratulations on clearing the first game :D you did a great job, much faster clear than most. Can't wait to see how you like KH2, its my personal favorite in the series and has my favorite opening.
Another possibility for the final boss was Chernabog crawling out of Hollow Bastion's keyhole.
Riku being greeted by the voice from the prologue was a Final Mix addition. In the Japanese version, it is confirmation of what players already expected regarding the voice's identity. The translators missed that its manner of speaking resembled a certain character we heard from during the prologue.
This led to a heated debate that had people calling Nomura wrong when an art book confirmed who was speaking. Said collection of art books tends to reveal details that come up in then unreleased games.
They cut out yet another phase of the final boss, a repeat of Ansem!Riku.
People have beaten the final phase just by having Donald and Goofy whale on Ansem while Sora hangs back (using lock on +Triangle), only dealing the final blow with Sora. Ansem is wielding a double bladed version of what Riku was using.
Unlike the Monstro flashback, Final Mix added this one to the ending.
One of the extra fights is made harder with Aero.
Just some tips in case you decide to do post game fights.
Due to how KH1 works, aerial attacks (jump attacking) land faster and have a better reach than ground moves, even against grounded enemies, so it might be best to jump attack any and all enemies.
Another trick is to cancel the magic animations so you can move early, this is done by jumping ans casting the magic, for some reason, due to how KH1 works, landing on the ground cancels the casting spell animation, so you are free to move a lot early, with that spamming magic is a lot more doable too with Magic Builds. Only issue is that there is a specific jump quantity needed, if you dont jump high enough you will cancel the spell before casting, which still consumes MP.
And lastly, just overall, not really needed for anything, but when you see a Enemy spamming a attack, like Heracles's spinning or Rushing towards you, you can parry it or block it, which will stun the enemy a little. Another thing is that the abilities on triangle are really good for combo extenders, or straight up I-Frames, which can be useful depending on the situation

These are all the kingdom hearts games in order by story to help with less confusion and watching you play the first one has inspired me to go back and play these games myself. I havent played all of them either.
You know its weird, even tho this is the proper order, I always feel compelled to play 358/2 in between COM and 2. I think becuase it makes roxis and axel so much more relatable in KH2, like you actually understand why they matter

And we have reached the end of a long journey, but now more awaits young Sora. What game will Joob play next? How deep down the lore rabbit hole will we go? Time will tell. Great playthrough, Joob. Wow I can’t believe this is it for KH1. Congratulations. I wonder how you’ll do with Chain of Memories? It’s gonna be an interesting gameplay swift. Hopefully you checkout Kingdom Hearts 358/Days before KH2 for chronicle context sake. Because it is a game that fills gaps between the first game, and Chain of Memories leading into KH2. I’m sure you received a ton of recommendation feedback from hardcore fans. And even though Birth By Sleep is a prequel to the first game, that’s a game definitely played after KH2.
I know it felt like it went by quickly!
But it did take 20 hours haha!
Yes i have heard about those other games and i plan on looking into them and going in the correct order at least in terms of story!
@@JadeJoob I hope you enjoy the rest. Even though Chain of Memories uniquely deviates with the battle system, it’s still a solid game for what it is with it’s own highlights.
@@JadeJoob To do everything in the game, side quests etc, normally takes me around 60 hours. There's so much in the game that you didn't touch upon. Not a complaint, I know you generally stick to the main story. But there's lots more to do in this game and every game in the series if you decide to come back in your own time. Extra bosses, mini games... There's a lot!

These games aren't short if you take the time to do everything in them. Same as any game i guess, if you speed through the main story it's over real quick. But there is so much more to do in this game!!
