I love how people think you just have to plug in the computer and it tells you how to fix their problem. Nobody thinks about how long it really takes to actually diagnose it so it can be fixed correctly. You are so knowledgeable in electronics and diagnosis, keep up the great work Warren!
This latest generation of electronically controlled stuff, i.e. everything after 1996 is a nightmare. The road tractors just keep piling up at our company shop. We have 12 tractors down,( 60 drivers terminal) even the ones still moving have lit up dash boards while were hauling freight. Keep it up, this is what you have to do. Youre very mentally stable, only 1 outta 20 have such a good technique like yours
Warren, thanks again for another great video, people don't get how much time it takes to diagnose and chase down a problem, just hooking up a computer doesn't just give you the answer. You are really good at diagnosing problems, and year's of knowledge just make these video's so good. G-d bless.
Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Warren Your videos are so important and impactful to me. I have alot of admiration for the time and effort you give to your viewers.
Appreciate your Videos, Warren. Electrical Troubleshooting is a test in patience and just a refusal to give up until it’s fixed. Sorry to hear about the Wiener Dog that had to be put down. Thanks for taking us along on your adventures.
I was worried Warren would stop making videos due to some comments and FB policies but the videos have kept coming and don’t think it’s not appreciated.Mechanics like to watch to learn something new. Something else is how you hold onto the camera when you roll under a piece of equipment, hell I’d be lucky just to get under there.
That was the absolute best era for Tractors. I still prefer my 7210 over the 3 others that were built in the past 2 decades. It’s only downside is that it is too big for some jobs.
Friend of mine has a 6410 MFWD cab 640 loader. 1200 original hours. Bought new, lol and all he has is a pair of draft horses. That's why it's so low houred.
@@nicholasbrown7068 If I remember correctly mine has about 5k hrs. All I have ever had to do to it is service it, replace the evaporator, and replace the engine to transmission u-joints. It has had less problems in its entire life than my 2014-6125M and 2016-6105E had in their first year. One NOx sensor for the 6105 cost more than every part I ever had to buy for the 7210 combined...
I'm kinda wondering about a faulty FNR switch. Seemed like when you initially couldn't get it to move at all, you cycled the FNR several times and then your scan tool showed a 1 on that last digit. Just a WAG. Good luck Warren, you are the best.
Had to replace the jounce bumper on my daughters 05 Grand Caravan, and used your trick of using the air chisel to spin it off. Worked like a champ, would not have been able to get it off otherwise.
a trick that a ford transmission guy showed me if yu have sticking valve is to put the valve with no spring on the sticking position then reverse it and slam the valve body on a piece of wood ,apparently you have a steel piece of steel imbedded in the bore ,doing that slamming imbeds that piece the bore resolving your problem
Thank you for the informative video, quite a lot of free room on the transmison side compared my 6400 with a 40km/h powerquad wich is right up againts the frame braces no much room to remove that transmision filter 🙁
Hi Warren, Thanks for sharing. I was wandering in what I could do from home for troubleshooting the spool valve could I use permanent marker on the spool and see where the marker is rubbing or scratched, then measure it across the valve body spool and look inside with a borescope to see if there is an abnormality in the surfaces. Would valve grinding compound polish out the abnormal area or wetted 2000 grit paper coiled onto a split end rod wetted with hydraulic oil? Just thinking about what I could physically do. I know you said you cleaned it many time with a bore rod and brushes like a gun bore. Thank you for sharing your troubleshooting knowledge Warren.
Had a 6410 that was driving me crazy trying to figure it out. Turned out to be bad connections on the relays for the reverser. Luckly my relay tester cables had longer spades and made the connection inside the fuse relay panel.
I have a strong suspicion, should the tractor accidentally catch fire, all your problems would be over, at which point some tree hugger will insist it is replaced by an all electric job?
Warren,, it looks like you have to be an auto electrician as well as everything else,, that’s why I gave it away in the end, everything was controlled by a computer,,,regards Frank
Someday I'd love to hear where you got started with your diagnostic skills. I'm guessing in the military. I'm fucking weak at solving issues like you do.
You can use service advisor but takes a special harness that plugs into the Diag fuse and the metripack connector in the fuse panel. Honestly using the dash menus is about the easiest.
Hey Warren, more JD diagnostic training going on today huh. Amazing how much knowledge you got and still learn on projects like this. How did the farmer learn about you and end up bringing the tractor to you? Thanks much for the fascinating video my friend.
Shit with wires. Seems so totally unnecessary in almost every application. College boy fresh graduates with no concept of work trying to make a name for themselves. Shouldn't need an app for that! Proof that the engineer caught the mechanic in bed with his wife.

These skills are not taught in schools anymore, you're lucky if you have a family member or a good job to show you this kind of stuff.
Warren,is still diagnosing problems the Old School Method
Ever considered teaching , you certainly have the knowledge
Excellent video
Thank you warren! I really appreciate putting these videos out. It’s actual real education compared to the garbage on tv.
And 90% of social media with some doubts about YT
Entertainment my ass

Good diagnosing, all your experience really pays off on these ones. Thanks again for the video
Thanks again for another great video Warren
Your knowledge on all machines is quite a thing

How agrivating
Your a man with patients
Great video Warren Thanks for sharing
Safe travels

I am learning a lot from Warren. How could I not since I was an English major in college. I'm more interested in this now.
Keep up with the great video’s as you are one hell of a Fixit man
Thanks for another great video Warren I don’t know how you do it but you are the best at diagnosing the symptoms. Amazing
I love Lulu she is so cute.
Thanks Warren for taking us along on this video really interesting what you come up against in your work
Try having a little flashlight in the bottom of your pocket for the aggravating times you left your worklight in the cab ! I find it helps.

Thank Warren for the electrical troubleshooting the best class in Oregon hey! Happy 4th I hope
Thanks for the video, at least you have the problem narrowed down, that’s a good thing.
Thanks for another great video. I really enjoyed watching you diagnosing and troubleshooting.

Thanks for the Video Warren 👍
You got great knowledge Warren.👍🏻
Tanks again Warren, that's true (Dr feelgood and or max Jacobson) song strange pleasures 📽
Once again great video and diagnostics video always good stuff. Working like I do old school. Have a great and safe 4th. God Bless.
Warren thanks for your time and consideration top job God bless you and your family stay safe out there 🚜🚛🚜🚛🚜🚛
Warren, you know you do good work when your getting equipment from up here in Washingstan.
Had to replace the jounce bumper on my daughters 05 Grand Caravan, and used your trick of using the air chisel to spin it off. Worked like a champ, would not have been able to get it off otherwise.
“They’ve probably been on there since the Last Supper”…..😂🇨🇦
Good work Warren
Super job ☘️
The valve body is just worn out. Thanks Warren!
You are so professional and patient, it's a very frustrating episode, really annoyed me and I'm just sat in my armchair!!! 🙂🙂
Good video 👍🔧

Waiting for the conclusion to this one for sure.
👍👍..take it easy feller..see u next time 🍻👊
Warren! Have a great day!
Man I thought I knew some cool stuff he knows it all down to the exact name that’s some serious stuff to know
Jobs I hate are the ones others have fixed before you got it. 🤔🤣😂👍
The reveseer may only operate in 1st and 2nd ? God bless you and your family
That's definitely causing you you some problems warren
Lets hope the new valve body sorts it out ..👍👍👍👍👍👍

Valve body flexing when you torque it down, something not flat. Spool moves freely when the body is out, binds when installed.
Just found out that the valve body came off a tractor that caught on fire.
Son of a monkey that would have been nice to have known!!!😡🤦🏻
@@westerntruckandtractorrepa1353 So the owner already had found that the valve body was the problem ?
That tractor has had a hard life.
Great diagnostic work. Looking forward to seeing the new valve body go it….
I cant believe how complicated these dam tractors are.... just ridiculous
Thank you.
Its that pissy transmission deere and acco use it ivt god bless you warren
This is not a IVT transmission. This is a 4 speed power shift or called a “powerquad”
Hi Warren, Thanks for sharing.

It 8s probably in the 23 34 valve in the control module
That valve body does not look to be the original, wonder what started all the issues with it.
Have you tried to polish the valve itself it may have a slight bend or high spot
Have a good 4Th👍👍👍👍
I guess I am just old, but I never liked hydro transmissions I always liked 2 stick gear shift on the old JD's. They hold ground speed better.
The best in the northwest!
wouldnt be the first time I got a bent spool .. dunno how it happens but it does ?
I think that tractor hasn’t been washed since the last supper either
Warren,, it looks like you have to be an auto electrician as well as everything else,, that’s why I gave it away in the end, everything was controlled by a computer,,,regards Frank
Fluid levels correct?
Enjoy the education 👍
Warren is this the tractor that only works in the ODD gear ranges. That you worked on the other day?
No
Good job
Washington ya I can tell with the rust
Ol girl has seen a few rainy overcast days thats for sure
Brought that from Washington?
How is your eyesight holding up Warren; I went long sighted in my left eye and short sighted in my right, right around my mid 40's
Is that funk elec power shift trans because does Jogn Deere not own funk
Green contacts causing lazy relays. Contacts in relays energized, and working now..??
Someday I'd love to hear where you got started with your diagnostic skills. I'm guessing in the military. I'm fucking weak at solving issues like you do.
interesting vid warren
Warren, would a guy be able to hookup service advisor to this tractor? Or is the performance monitor the only way to interface?
You can use service advisor but takes a special harness that plugs into the Diag fuse and the metripack connector in the fuse panel. Honestly using the dash menus is about the easiest.
Just looking at the condition of the tractor, seems like it’s brand new, hardly used. St.Paul,Minnesota.
Wow, what a pain in the arse this jobs has turned out, just glad it's not me working on it, I'd have set it on fire and called it done :)
👍
Genius
OMG is this frustrating, and I am not even the one doing the work!
Hey good information thank you
Warren, that hat needs an oil change. Keep on wrenching.
Not an oil change, but a change of scenery... send it to Greta 🤣

Needs a good hammering wont fix it but youll feel better
sweeet
in the deere world xxx's mean 0. hope this helps
Problem solving 101 .
Neutral start switch?
I live 15 minutes from the John Deere Milan PDC
🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸👍👍👍👀👀👀☕️☕️☕️🥃🥃🥃🍻🍻🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
I should know better than to go into the comments... usually a waste of time.
Probably the worst tractor Deere ever built. Ever changed a starter !? 😂😂😂
You should have known Warren. The worst shite comes from Washington.
What a pain in the ass
Shit with wires. Seems so totally unnecessary in almost every application. College boy fresh graduates with no concept of work trying to make a name for themselves. Shouldn't need an app for that!
Proof that the engineer caught the mechanic in bed with his wife.
Climbing in and out, under and out is the most taxing part of the job.
