Kevin reminded me of a story my brother told me. He worked at a Vocational school and was in charge of a tool room. One of the students requested "A wrench". My brother asked what size? The reply was "A big one" Again my brother quizzed him and told him he had just about any size of wrench needed. The guy then told him it didn't matter as he was using it as a hammer.
Clinton you definitely bought a can of worms with this one! I was in the Army and deployed twice and have seen people take parts off a perfectly running piece of equipment to fix theirs for whatever reason if it’s not being used! So there is a possibility that nothing was wrong with this dozer it just belong to another unit and wasn’t being used so they parted it out!
That Block reminds me of when i was a kid when my uncle took all of the tubes in stuff out of one of those old console tv set and had an idea were they all went back together. He then needed the TV repairman to put it all back together
I worked a job where I was processing items to be auctioned by the company. My supervisor had me remove all the expensive parts and place them in storage. The funny part is those parts were never used and ended up in a landfill. He knew every part by their value, but he had no plan on how to use them. He reminded me of an Army private with no understanding of the real world. It would have been better if the parts were sold in the original auction.
"if you guys liked what you seen today" hell C&C, there's not been an episode I didn't like. Always learn something...helps me to know when my guys are selling me BS. And that kind of education is much appreciated.
Truly enjoy watching you guys rebuild the army equipment…no wonder we have the deficit we do…equipment like this just left behind…glad you can get your hands on it and bring it back into the working class!! Thanks Clint! 👍👍Haven’t seen your dad around the shop in a while hope all is well with him!!! Take care guys.
Many branches of our government, local, state and federal work on the principal the only way to increase the budget is by damaging equipment and supplies and then request them for the next year's budget. They work on the backasswards theory that if you don't use the funds you won't get it next year and that's just damn silly not to mention a financial burden on the taxpayers and clients. I've known of some agencies who intentionally break their hand tools at the end of the year to get new ones. It's a damn shame really
Awesome work fellas. You'll have the big green machine going like a champ in no time. Is it possible that dozer only had about 125 moving hours? If so, it's going to make someone a very nice dozer when you guys are finished with it. Take care guys.
Watching y'all work on these machines is a lots of fun. I can't believe that it fired right up on the first try, after being torn apart like that. The shape of that dozer, I can only hope that it was almost free. Y'all do great work. Great video.
What an unholy mess that control block was in, thankfully the Jedi Mechanic that is Clint and his apprentice Kevin were able to put it right. Like the way that hydraulic valve was replaced with a rag, if only all repairs were that simple. 😎 She certainly sounds sweet!
At least they did plug a couple of holes. Your guys along with your knowledge is top shelf. Enjoy your videos. Thanks. PS give Mason a break. He's just youngster. 😊
From Columbus Indiana....I found your channel from Chris in NC and Mike down in Derby. I love what you and your team do to rehab good military equipment. Would like to see the Seabees get rid of all the new equipment in warehouses down at Biloxi. That's a gold mine.
Robbing parts is robbing Peter to pay Paul temporary repairs that never get properly repaired, Thank goodness Clint does NOT DO THAT, when a machine leaves His shop it's factory fresh which is a breath of fresh air in today's world ,Why did they rob so many parts off a low hour tractor ?
Maybe some Engineers can weigh in - this is outside my wheelhouse as a Grunt but if I had to guess, it was just faster and easier to use this machine to keep all the others fully mission capable. Wouldn't think this would be a practice that was sanctioned by leadership but who knows - it's probably not that uncommon.
Logistics it’s faster to keep certain equipment operational by breaking one to fix many. We often did it with aircraft especially ones high in inspection hrs but a date that is far away of the major inspection.
Maintenance guy with the engineers here. I’ve seen this happen many times during my time in the Marine Corps. Stuff like this happens for two main reasons. 1) mechanics are pulled in many directions with competing priorities. Some don’t get the time invested to become proficient and are just trying to survive the madness. 2) the Marine Corps chose to downsize certain equipment sets to reduce cost and reallocate funds to “force modernization”. We specifically reduced the qty of dozers in our inventory. Once it is tagged for disposal, LOGCOM can give approval for cannibalization. Everything is fair game at that point. You would be blown away by some of the shit we used to do. I always wondered what happened to a nice piece of gear after we got done raping it. It makes me happy that Clint got ahold of this dozer and could right some of our wrongs. This is the main reason I am subscribed to this channel.
@@wes11bravototally agree. In a war situation… of which thus dozer was most likely involved a running unit will keep the others running. Less expensive and faster gor parts than ordering from out of country.
Machine A has a part that will take a week or two to get, machines b, C, d need parts that will take a few days. There are parts on machine A that can get b, C, d all running by the end of the day. Then when the parts come in they can all go on machine a and your back to all 4 working.
The level of detail and the commitment to putting out the best product possible is rare these days. You and your crew are top notch, Happy to see men take such pride in their work. Thanks for the video.
Clint do you have an amazing channel? I’ve been watching your show for about two months now and I’ve seen about 40 episodes. I am amazed that your mechanical ability Kevin however I still don’t quite get he seems to be a missing Link in evolution barking out singing out, gesturing out, holding his hands on his face as he laughs. It’s an amazing thing to watch. Thanks, Clint
very impressive work there. im a hobby mechanic and i wouldnt even know where to start if you gave me that dozer. lol. id have to buy one that was at least fully assembled. whew!
Kevin & Mason both are turning into a very good mechanic & in 20 years they can take over the shop & you can kick back in the office on your own hours ! I like how Kevin started as a painter & just jumps right in on everything not afraid to try anything !
11/7/23; 850J needing lots of fix up...this is a very interesting & teaching video on many different levels. Sooo many components to test/replace/swap hoses/buy many expensive parts & lots of trial & error with more drive gear& track pieces yet to come...Clint, you gotta have the patients of a saint😇. Good to see son Mason working along side of dad, observing & learning OJT. As an armchair viewer, curious about these big machines, you (comments, camera, lighting) show the 'what/how/why' the numerous components fit together for one big machine to work smoothly in rough terrain. Will be waiting to see you (your team) finalize & do several test laps around your super shop! Stay safe & carry on!🔧⚒️👍😊
Poor Mason having Sausage Fingers for a supervisor is never going to get past gofor. Mason just wish he had a squirter on his hands, cause he'd be in heaven. Only he'd never show up for work, because he'd be too exhausted. Oops i didn't say that, it must be a typo
What a babe that thing is!!!!!! Almost like you've done this a few times Mr.C!!! Have a blessed week Mrs. C and team!!!! Tell Kev he better not be bashing my Harbor Freight wrenchs together!!! LMBO 😂🤣😭😜
Thank you Clinton, your videos are awesome and a lot of fun! Mason seems to be a perfect fit for the C&C shop, he doesn't seem bothered by you guys blaming him for things he didn't do and wasn't asked to do and he just keeps smiling, as he learns how the pros do things and he even gets paid for being there! I'm going to go out on a limb and guess that if the shop work slows down, Mason could get part time work at the circus, because he already knows a lot about working with clowns. :) Love your channel. Cheers from Canada.
I have no doubts whatsoever that you will be pushing dirt in no time, Kevin will work his talents on paint, and some happy customer will be purchasing that dozer. I’m convinced that you guys can fix anything. Love the channel. Now I have to wait until Friday
Good job Guys, the parts list was very expensive and you are not done yet, however this one is not your first Rodeo and I am sure you would have bought it at the appropriate price, one thing for sure when it is finished it will have be completed to the highest standards just like LetsDig18's D7, by the way that sounds awesome when its working hard.
Probably something simple and then cannibalized!! I could see if it was a parts machine but clearly it's not! Love the content, keep em coming!! Thank you
I really enjoy your mechanical humor that you have and I enjoy watching your repair these dosers I ran 1 for a little while I can honestly I'm not an expert but no means but I did enjoy the time that I had with them
Clint, thanks for helping out Captain Kleeman. He has done a bunch with the 555 already!! Thanks for the great vidjas. You, Kevin, and Mason are fun to watch and listen to. Enjoy your banter and hard work. John here, from the back-roads of Northeastern Tennessee.
You're not scared buying a doser like that. Nice video and nice to see a young guy like Meason learning the trade and you giving him the opportunity. Wonder what it will look like after Kevin takes care of it in the paint shop. Till next time.
It's truly amazing to see the knowledge of these machines. Wouldn't it be something if the missing seals were the cause of this becoming a parts depot . Federal dollars at work!😢
Hi to all at C&C. Love watching all your videos the entertainment and work quality is above and beyond. Please keep making them. Best wishes from Scotland. colin
Hardest part of reassembly is you weren't the guys who took it apart !! Nice job !!!
The old girl fired right up.That was impressive.
Everything is a hammer!!
Mason seems like a great dude. He takes the joking well and is eager to learn. 👍🏼
I am completely amazed that that thing ever started knowing the number of parts and pieces that were robbed from the machine.
Really good work going over someone else's lack of knowledge.
Can't believe this was a hangar queen w/as low hours it had!!!!!
Looks like you bought a dozer kit...some assembly required 😂
You guys are technicians, detectives, and magicians, but you make it look so easy.
Clinton you definitely bought a can of worms with this one! You guys are officially my favorite UA-cam channel, for whatever that’s worth.
LetsDig18 really loves his D7 you guys rebuilt ,I know this one will turn out just fine also great job guys
He does love it but is driving sausage fingers crazy scratching all that new paint
That Block reminds me of when i was a kid when my uncle took all of the tubes in stuff out of one of those old console tv set and had an idea were they all went back together. He then needed the TV repairman to put it all back together

20:58 When you plugged that in and that buzzing started I was sure Kevin was getting electrocuted.
Truly enjoy watching you guys rebuild the army equipment…no wonder we have the deficit we do…equipment like this just left behind…glad you can get your hands on it and bring it back into the working class!! You guys make it look so easy. I love these “back from the dead” videos 😊
A talented group of guys. Glad to see that your teaching your son's the trade. Keep up the good work and videos
Clint, thanks for helping and mentoring Captain Kleeman… you both will do well together.
It’s amazing the knowledge you have on those dozer systems!
“He was a pusher bub” 😂
Awesome work fellas. You'll have the big green machine going like a champ in no time. Is it possible that dozer only had about 125 moving hours? If so, it's going to make someone a very nice dozer when you guys are finished with it. Take care guys.
Yay it runs.
Didn't expect to break out laughing at a dozer rebuild video today. Good work you guys. XD

Worked your magic again. Good job
Sometimes ya just gotta laugh, after Mason cleans up about 3 gallons of hydraulic oil. Lol.
You guys are genius! What a puzzle but it’s getting there 👍
What an unholy mess that control block was in, thankfully the Jedi Mechanic that is Clint and his apprentice Kevin were able to put it right. Like the way that hydraulic valve was replaced with a rag, if only all repairs were that simple. 😎 She certainly sounds sweet!
Hahahahah. ‘Some people’s children’. Best line of the day…
Great to see a new video from you guys. Keep them coming….UK

Good Job 3 BUBS! Clinton, Kevin and Mason
I’m so glad y’all don’t swear on your channel thank you so much
You guys have great patience.
Without Kevin’s Sausage Fingers you’d be up the creek without a paddle!!
Great video as always. I'm looking forward to the next installment of the laurels & Hardy show. Thanks.
The level of detail and the commitment to putting out the best product possible is rare these days. You and your crew are top notch, Happy to see men take such pride in their work. Thanks for the video.
I am impressed that you guys are able to put a parts dosser back together . Good job .
I got faith it will all work fine. You do good work at the shop.
Really cool how you sort stuff out.

The funny side kick 🙃
More goofy than funny
Based on that startup, it appears compression is high. It blew Kevin’s panty hose off. 😂
Engine sounds great and was super easy to start. Hope you guys keep fixing the army stuff!!
Clinton Kevin and Mason great video, looks like you have a way to go on this one! Thanks for sharing! Kevin
very impressive work there. im a hobby mechanic and i wouldnt even know where to start if you gave me that dozer. lol. id have to buy one that was at least fully assembled. whew!

Kevin has some great explanation quotes. I'm just glad you're good enough to laugh while troubleshooting. I call it confidence.
I’m glad the engine started and runs well. Hopefully there are no other big surprises besides that final drive.
Thank you Clinton, your videos are awesome and a lot of fun! Its great your getting the dozer fixed up.....stay safe guys
This is the best project so far. Amazing work bringing this one back from the dead.

Probably something simple and then cannibalized!! I could see if it was a parts machine but clearly it's not! Love the content, keep em coming!! Thank you
Never a doubt it would not start, with you guys at the helm
One giant Green puzzle. LOL. You guys are rocking it one step at a time.
C&C staff is awesome, amazing it started 1st crank, looks like the gamble paid off can’t wait to see it move
I’m sure it been said numerous times but you all are a great team. Tks for sharing.
I question how a dozer can have over 800 non moving hours on the engine, that smacks of incompetence. Great video Clint, thanks guys.
I really enjoy your mechanical humor that you have and I enjoy watching your repair these dosers I ran 1 for a little while I can honestly I'm not an expert but no means but I did enjoy the time that I had with them
Good work figuring out all the connections.
Love to see how you are able to take these almost junk tractors run so well. Amazing to see how much knowledge you have.
I just love watching your channel! I can't get enough of the work you do. It's nice to see after spending 7K in parts it starts right up!
Never a dought that you guys would get it running.
Quite the basket case. Looks like a fun little project
Thanks Clinton and guys , this is great project!!! 🍺🍺🥤
That’s the first one you guys have worked on that I had my doubts about. Well done. 👍🏻🇺🇸👍🏻🇺🇸👍🏻
Awesome shop vid awfully impressed with your knowledge of all this shit!! PS Let's dig is pissed about his 2 missing engine panels.
As a Norwegian I am happy to hear them calling each other by their names and not sir each other. We do the same.
Y’all have an awesome show thanks for taking us a long.
Wow, that POT that you paid $500 for looks an awful lot like a GM Throttle Position Sensor that I pay $15 for. Must be the JD upgrade tax. 😂😂
The motor started right up, sounds good. Thanks for taking us along 😎👍
Good job undoing a mess that you had no idea what had been done 👍👍
Good job! Another C&C Phoenix is rising from the ashes! I enjoy watching you guys perform your magic! Good post
Great video. Love to see this equipment get put back together . Love the redric between you guys.
You guys are a hoot! I love watching techs do what they do very well and laugh while they're doing it.
I dont thing to many people could work through this mess. Great job
This dozer had the horn button wires cut? THERE YOU HAVE IT! That was the main problem with this dozer! 😂😁😜
You're not scared buying a doser like that. Nice video and nice to see a young guy like Meason learning the trade and you giving him the opportunity. Wonder what it will look like after Kevin takes care of it in the paint shop. Till next time.
You have a good crew there Mr. C. Good to see the younger guys there learning too.
Pretty darn impressive you three great work on brining that dozer back to life
I never thought that engine would start up so quickly with all the stuff that was missing! But low and behold It works!
Great job, guys!! 😊
Best wishes from Scotland. colin
I still say you could have called DP he has a rolling parts stock for the 850J. 😅
Great progress great video thanks Clint and Kevin and Mason
