"Can this get any more cartoony?" That was my feeling watching this too, after the first 30 seconds or so. It felt like I was watching the original cartoon...and that is a MASSIVE compliment! That's what we want! It's what we always wanted and by goodness, they might have just gotten the hint. Brighter Turtles, minimized April, the Turtle Van, the comedy, Casey Jones...it was the last thing ANY of us were expecting, but this trailer got my attention.
+OrangeRangerVideos Totally agree. Look I get the comics are darker and grittier, but it's giant mutant turtles in the real world. You have to be at least a little comical with that. And this... so far... does that. Giving the typical blockbuster action but mixing the personality and humor of the Turtles, Rocksteady and Bebop that we've seen work before. Just hope it's like that the entire film and not just in this trailer.
Black Nerd Comedy Agreed. Hopefully they got the message EARLY and crafted the whole film this way, and didn't get the message LATE and figured they needed to twist the trailers into something that would get us excited.

All those things flying don't look the same, so they're definitely not space ships. I think the movie will go as follows...Foot sent by Shredder to steal stuff; Turtles stops them; Shredder is fed up with the turtles butting in his business; Shredder finds Baxter and recruits him; Shredder convinces Beebop and Rock Steady to join him (we know what happens to them); fight between turtles and Shredder/ Beebop & Rock Steady ensues; Turtles win; female police commissioner ask them if they're super heroes and than in comes the portal in the sky and pieces of the Technodrome come out and puts itself together. Now we have a lead up to the third installment of a TMNT 3. Please reply if you agree/disagree. Holy shit, Mikey's face finally swelled down... it looks so much better now. Also, the lips on all of them seem less pronounced and don't look nearly as distracting as the first designs.
Funny, though, you'd think they'd take more liberties with Bebop and Rocksteady's designs but they kept the designs as close to the source material as possible.

It's because with Batman v Superman people had high expectations but then the new trailer came out and expectations were lowered to the point where people now think it's going to suck. With Tmnt 2 people had very low expectations since alot of people hated the first one but then this trailer came out and raised their expectations and now people think it might be good.

Sam Garcia It's not about the expectations. It's about the studios knowing the right level of taking a fiction serious and not two serious. I would not want Nolan to direct ninja turtles movie. And as for Superman v Batman. They just need some serious help.

Eames But that right proves my point because the trailers are showing how studios are taking care of their properties where a Batman v Superman is a property that features two of the most popular superheroes together in a movie for the first time and the new trailer shows whats going to happen in the film and now people seem disappointed where Tmnt is also a beloved franchise but theatrically weren't really that great but then this trailer comes out and shows what it's going to be about and people are actually liking it. With movies like these people have these expectations as to how the movie turns out, where one lowers while the other goes higher, like it doesn't who directs it as long as the property is done right and makes the fans happy.

This looks like a completely different movie than the first TMNT movie. It's like a soft reboot almost. And I'm loving every minute of it!

I love passionate and excited people, and you are always so excited and talk with so much love about movies etc. Even when they suck you can feel the love towards the original franchise in your rants. You are an amazing and funny and relatable guy, and I think I watched this review as often as the trailer by now... I hate Michael Bay, I usually dislike movies like that but ugh... the trailer made me excited and I am upset about it... but also excited. UGH.

I am not a huge TMNT but when I saw Rocksteady and Bebop I was like "OHHHHH MY GOSH Andre's gonna be sooooo excited!!!!" HAHAHA! Your freak out is SO awesome! Loved this review! I never saw the first one but I KNEW I wasn't gonna like it, and then my friends saw it who were fans and were so disappointed. But THIS one...actually interested! Thanks for sharing! XD
I enjoyed the last movie, but it is easy to see why some disliked it, it seems as if fans tend to be torn when it comes to it. Here's hoping this one is even better!

+Couch Tomato Personalyl i did not mind the design of the turtle TOOO much. Basically it was always odd to me that every other mutant in the series was often big and bulky while the turtles were tiny little bastards, smaller than humans even.
Everything else i was against though. their weird mouths, the lack of turtles, the too dumb even for turtles writing >_< Crazy dumb shit that works is an ART. It needs just a smidge of validity, that yes, we are willing to suspend disbelief here. Never got that in the first movie.
Also hopefully they improved splinter's design.

+MrDman21 He looks dumb as hell and he isn't an actor at all. Amell isn't an oscar worthy get but he is by far a better actor than Morrison. Wrestlers should stick to action movies.
He played a pretty good Casey Jones on that BAT IN THE SUN video. But I dunno how he'd do in a feature length film. But you forgot Sheamus is in this movie playing Rock Steady, so there's that. CM Punk was also supposed to be in it.

But Rocksteady doesn't require much. Not to take away from what Sheamus is doing but playing a silly Rhinoman is a lot different than playing the romantic interest of the female lead. He won't have much dialogue and he probably won't discuss plot points. Jones has a much bigger spotlight on him and will be under greater scrutiny. I thought the CM punk thing was only a rumor before they announced Casey Jones would be played by Amell.
Good point. Aside from the Rock the only time you see WWE wrestlers in movies in on straight to video releases. And I really couldn't see CM Punk as Casey Jones given that he hasn't done much acting. As a whole pro wrestlers as actors is hit or miss.

I'm rather impressed, I came into this video with so little optimism, but I came out surprised. It might be a decent film. That relationship you have with these movies is a rough one, perhaps today I might say it was reminiscent of shell-shockholmed syndrome? ;)

It looks like a fan movie written by someone at Deviantart who just so happens to be Michael Bay's niece. It's like an extended episode of the 80's series (and not the good seasons) If anything it'll be so bad it's entertaining.

Baxter, Bebop and Rocksteady all work UNDER Shredder. It's all one villainous body. It's different than Spider-Man 3 and ASM2

In the cartoons, you could fit all of them in one 22 minute cartoon and have full character development because they all work under Shredder and interact with each other and even their comedy works well together. Well, Karai wasn't in the original cartoon, but still, having them all work under Shredder makes it a lot easier as they'll be more of a criminal team rather than a bunch of super villain in a bloated ending.

In all seriousness though, I hated the music choice, but loved the trailer otherwise. I didnt think it was possible to redeem themselves after the first movie. Now, there might actually be hope.

I don't hate RUN-D.M.C. In fact I actually enjoy a good number of hip-hop from the 80s., Run-DMC included. Which the more I think about it, may be their reasoning in choice of music selection, if they are actually going for more of the 80s/90s cartoon vibe this time around.

I am an original turtle fan but this trailer review disgusts me. I love how Andre just glossed over how horrible and fake Bebop and Rocksteady look, all that CGI looks so incredibly fake and terrible but his love for the turtles has him turning another blind eye to the thing he loves most...TMNT and marvel. How can he be taken seriously and as anything credible. We know we already knew we were going to see Bebop and Rocksteady, we know we will see Krang and that whole Dimension X stuff, stop acting all hype when you knew it was coming, the fake surprise and awe is lame.

I'm thinking this "new Shredder" is actually Oroku Saki, whose brother Oroku Nagi was the Shredder from the first movie. It has precident in the comics! Hopefully... I'm just wondering how the mutagen works, given that it was directly injected into the turtles in movie one (and is assumed to be some sort of evolutionary accelerant like the comics) and Bebop and Rocksteady (whose mutagen was a gene splicer in both previous versions) we have NO idea about.
This was hilarious man. I'm totally with you on this trailer. I want this movie to be good so bad and seeing that the makers of the movie might've listened to the fans is filling me with so much hope that it'd be devastating to find out this is all just marketing sleight of hand and what have you. Right now this film looks like it has its own identity as opposed to being an action movie where the turtles just happen to be around with the changes to the foot clan, Casey's introduction, Bebop and Rocksteady, and the turtles being front and center.
Finally, somebody else besides me calls them as Rocksteady and Bebop and not the other way around besides me! It just bugged me so much how from all I knew, in the original cartoon, those two were adressed in that order, but just about everywhere on the net people refer to them as "Bebop and Rocksteady" when in the cartoon Rocksteady was always addressed first

Glad I wasn't the only one geeking out for Bebop and Rocksteady. That scene alone when they first meet the turtles and Rocksteady bull rushes Raphael who just punches him all like "Oh my god, my punches! THEY DO NOTHING!!!" was amazing.
