Coming from Hawaii, the worst part of 2015 is the controversy around building a Thirty Meter Telescope on Mauna Kea. Legitimate, ground breaking science to benefit everyone is being thwarted by passionate protestors defending old Hawaiian mythology and completely unfounded environmental concerns. And the worst part about it is that I can't get mad, because I sympathize with the protestors and where they're coming from. Historically, Hawaiians have been a really oppressed people.
Nothing funny here, just really sad and feeling uncertain about the future.

- Undertale is still incredibly original. It draws inspiration here and there, but the gameplay, story, characters and humour are all very unique. If not entirely original, it's still fresh because there hasn't been anything like it in a very long time.
- Fury Road was awesome for many reasons. Practical effects are cool and a lot of film buffs really enjoy them because they feel more weighty and real. Plus, they age better. In twenty years, our CG driven films are going to look like trash compared to what they have out now. But movies that use real effects, makeup, puppetry, prosthetics and models, will still look good. For instance, look at Hellboy. It's a twelve year old movie (fuck, wow) but the makeup effects on Perlman and Doug Jones still look really real to this day. Whereas other, CG driven films of the era (the Star Wars Prequels for instance) look pretty bad by today's standards.
- Yeah, the Star Wars thing is stupid.
- They made Inside Out this year man, they've earned some cred. Besides, what's wrong with sequels? I like sequels. It's getting a little pretentious to hear everyone harp on about sequels. Sequels are fun, sometimes it's nice to return to beloved characters and continue their story.

+peronkop I was disappointed due to how they characterized Black Widow and her relationship with the Hulk. It felt so sped through and like I missed out on a lot of character development. Same with Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver, they both felt kinda rushed (especially Quicksilver, no pun intended). I also disliked how it felt like Hawkguy only got a family in his story so we'd fear if he was going to die in the movie, which is a pretty cheap way to get your audience to feel sad about a character.
Sure, there were issues with the first movie but it felt so much more blatant in the second movie. Well, the ending fight for AoU was pretty cool.

Char Bucket I think the only reason he died was because there was another Quicksilver in X-Men and it would've been confusing for some for two different Quicksilvers to be in two different movie universes. I wish he was just left out but I feel like it's a case where you can't have one (Scarlet Witch) without the other (Quicksilver).
