I bought an IFJF cap that suppose to fit the Honda EU2000 and EU1000i generator. But it's too big for my 2021 Honda 2.3HP outboard. I just noticed you specified a cap that fits the EU2000i. Does the EU2000i take a different size cap than the EU2000?
Also, the original gas cap for the honda has a vent so that the air can flow in so that it can draw fuel to the carburetor. If you see that red gas cap, can air still flow thru it? Thanks...
@@ysesq Normally do all external gas tank have a way to vent? Like would this type work (attwood 8803LP2 EPA and CARB Certified 3-Gallon Portable Marine Boat Fuel Tank by attwood) from amazon Thanks!
you have to pump it until the bulb is slightly firm in 2-3x pumps and then you can stop. engine will draw it in after that. i have added a one way valve to the setup as well for less load on the motor pump but not necessary.
Have you tried this with a 2.3HP Honda yet? I bought one of those iFJF caps, but it's doesn't thread in to my 2021 Honda 2.3HP outboard. The red cap's too big.
@@NghiaPham-xi5so yes you would connect to the top. bottom connector is for a large external gas tank where it will draw from. in my case it is a 25 gallon.

Hi why does the factory fuel tank have to come out? How to you route the hoses
factory fuel tank does not come out. you just replace the factory fuel CAP with a DIY one.
@@ysesq where can i find the cap? I have a suzuki 2,5 hp, how can you understand the threads?

yes you dont need a vent but the tank you are drawing from needs its own vent. you dont need a vent at the cap anymore.

@@NghiaPham-xi5so not sure but you need vented one. mine has a perko auto vent.
What goes on the other end so that you can plug it into the portable gas tank? Thanks
i use KF tanks so i used the female nissan connector but merc tanks have a female merc end so you match the end connector to the tank.
Do you have to keep your auxiliary tank higher than the Honda's internal tank for this to work?
no it has some motor suction. i keep it level with the motor.
Do you have to manually pump it into the internal tank with that bulb? Thanks

@@ysesq Does your internal tank have to be empty before starting to pump it from the external tank? Thanks again for the reply..
@@NghiaPham-xi5so no it needs to be full.

@@ysesq I thought that the Honda 2.3hp outboard didn't have a motor pump -- just gravity fed?
Can you connect to a Honda 2.3 hp outboard using the same setup? Thanks
this is a 2.3HP engine so yes.
@@ysesq Thanks for the reply, so that red cap, i see two connections, so you would connect it to the top one? What is the bottom one used for?

will that cap fit a bf2.3 2020 engine?
yes
Can you provide a link for this kit?
@@charlescox9426 see the parts list at the beginning of the video and buy from amazon or ebay. there is no kit.
How is this working for you? Any issues after running it for a bit?
no it has been running fine. needs a bit of help to go but once the flow goes it runs good.
@@ysesq I see. From what I can tell the 2.3 doesn’t have a fuel pump. Is that true or does it have one despite being designed as gravity fed?
@@MrBthames2000 its working as a siphon so not sure.
Thank you for the input.
thanks a lot!!! great idea!!!
Difficult to see, wobbly camera, mate. Hard to follow, but I got it.
