They have given us hints about their versatility, and they finally said screw it. And shoved it in our face, and we loved it. Ate it up like peach cobbler and ice cream.
If you just forget that one of the best basso profundos in the world is singing in the stratosphere, the vocal percussion and bass line are outstanding.
I'm sure somebody else has told you, but Tim has a 5 octave range. Go see Tim with Austin doing "My Maria". Chris just wanted to go solo and actually helped pick Chance as his replacement.
You're not an idiot. It's just that Mayday is that magical unicorn song that Home Fries anxiously anticipate from every new reactor. And there's nothing wrong with live performances. This is THAT song that we're all so proud of, you'd think that we'd created it ourselves. So please don't let it discourage you. Sometimes people forget that all reactors start somewhere. Keep up the great reactions! You're doing just fine! Chris left to do some solo and collaborative work. He was fully involved in choosing Chance as his replacement. Chris has a great range too. As for another tidbit on Mayday, Chance did every bit of the bass, Tim stayed in the higher register the entire song. Please check out Everybody Walkin This Land! I think you'll really like it's message. ❤
We love you, and we weren't calling you an idiot. We just wanted to give you that amazing shock that we all got the first time we saw this. Carry on, you're super.
yep its fun watching people watch this video. Chris left and Chance joined. He is 1 octave lower than Chris so he can fill in Bass when Tim is doing other ranges. Chance was the Bass for his old group, which competed with Home Free I think in the sing off show.
This was the first song that showcased Tim's upper range and highlighted Chance's lower range. Tim has a 5 octive range and Chance has a 4 octive range.
Hehe NOW you see. Especially after you heard Tim singing in the basement on the cover of Brothers In Arms (old Dire Straits tune). There's other singers who have a large range but few of them can sound as utterly fantastic throughout their range as Tim Foust does. From deep bass growls to sweet falsettos, he's got the pipes for it. And YES Chance is really a bass too. They hired him as a baritone slot but he always does the bass duty when Tim is doing whatever the heck he wants! Never underestimate Chance; he's danged good. He's the one who makes a LOT of the overtone sounds (jaw harp in Man of Constant Sorrow), twangy guitar sounds, and more. Chris Rupp left the group when he realized that he couldn't give 100% to Home Free and also do his solo work and help his sister's a capella group. And yes, though Chris could do some bass, to his admission he wasn't able to do it consistently. Anyhow, Chris gave his blessing to Chance when he agreed to join Home Free. Tim was singing tenor in the entire song. Not a note of bass. In fact, near the end, when he's accompanying Rob's echo, he's singing HIGHER than Rob.
Next song for Tim's higher octave, My Maria. It's Austin and Tim with friends on the deck in Austin's backyard. Chris left to concentrate on a solo career. Supposedly Chris hand-picked Chance to replace him. There's a Christmas video that show's Chris handing Chance his pitch pipe, since Chance would be replacing him. Chris still creates videos with Tim.
Note to SauceyDad: be sure to watch the entire video "My Maria". Austin and Tim discuss something interesting that I wanted to do this year but $15k later I have a new deck to replace the rotted one....and no money left to hire.... well, watch the video 😁
Chris wanted to go out on his own. He still does things with Home Free at times. Chance was a bass in another group and mainly does baritone now. There is a song where all six sing together. Chris and Adam were the creators of Home Free and are brothers. Hey, you don’t know until you know. Don’t feel bad. (Just realized this was 2 yrs ago…I’m sure you know now).
I would never call someone an idiot unless I was face to face. There is no way you would have known to watch the studio version instead of the live. Can't wait to watch your reaction!💖😀

Your face when Chance hit that low note!!! Fries like to say they have 5 Tenors, 5 Beatboxers and 2 Basses. The other members sometimes assist Adam Rupp with "instrumentation" like Chance doing the Jew's Harp and Robb remixing himself on Man of Constant Sorrow. You will occasionally hear Adam Rupp join in on the harmonies to assist the tenors when you are able to separate their individual voices. Adam Rupp is a very good tenor.
@@genekillingsworth8994 I don't think he can sing on that range, but he most certainly can do a mean bass which means he's got it in his range somehow.
@@genekillingsworth8994 You are right it´s only when he´s beatboxing he can go low there was a lot of debat about the cover Sold peopple said Tim hit an A0 but he said it was actually Adam
You're not an idiot. Chris is pursuing a solo career. He's a high baritone/ low tenor. Chance came in as Chris left. Chance is a baritone/bass. Tim has a massive range. Check out the video of his vocal range.
You are not an idiot, we as Home Fries failed to let you know to watch the studio version. SO happy to see this reaction. Glad you see Tim's range now. He's amazing. Chance is amazing. They all are.
All is forgiven. Home Fries 🍟 are for the most part very nice. I suggest Snow Globe next, similar and Tim wrote great parts for each of the guys. Of course Adam Rupp does his own magic on this song. Chris could do bass in moderation but with Chance and Tim both able to produce those tones, it allows both of them the opportunity to flex their talents. Chris left to start another group with his sister. He is an excellent arranger and there have been collaboration videos with Tim, Rob and the whole group.

This is one of my favorites. So glad you are watching the studio version. Your surprise at hearing the switch ups in the voices was great. Tim can sing in a beautiful higher tenor voice along with Austin & Rob. And Chance can hit the lower bass notes when needed. And Adam did a fabulous job as always with his vocal percussion. This song is sung by a woman Cam, so they sung it in a higher key to match the original.
Chris Rupp left HF to work on a solo career. Chris had a hand in the selection of Adam Chance. Chances beautiful baritone/bass is like a well aged bourbon. His solo stuff can really pull at your heart strings. Your reactions are so 😂🤣😂🤣. You are definitely in the baby stage of HF. Enjoy the roller coaster of emotions you are in store for.
😂😂😂 Again… no name calling. We were just excited to see your reaction to Tim & Chance. And when you mentioned Rob in the live version, we were kinda sad that you missed out on the surprise. Hugs
Almost forgot. I'm someone that has trouble chewing gum and walking at the same time so I truly appreciate the rhythmic stomp they do while they're singing, blew me away. Suggestions: "How Great Thou Art" and "Band of Brothers". Thank you for the joy.
Just for your knowledge, Adam Chance was bass for Street Corner Symphony who competed in 2013 Sing Off and they came in second that year. How many groups do you know off that have 2 bass that can sing like this. LOL
Sprinkling rainbows 🌈 and unicorns 🦄 of comfort and forgiveness on your poor soul, Lol! Really glad hearing you react to this version, but enjoyed the live one too...it actually is quite a compliment when one is mistaken for another, shows the amazing ranges . Made me appreciate them live even more. Thank you 😇!
So glad you did the original video, I feel the guys like to slap us all around the face periodically just to remind us they're not human lol. I do like reactions to the live stuff also but maybe always after the videos to get the best of both!? Something else totally random and funny would be 'Colder Memory Lapse' (3.01 minute version). The screw up, the redemption and the total torment are a wonder to behold! Keep them coming. PLEASE! Definately my go to first reactor, thank you!
I'm glad you watched the studio version to get the full effect of the song. I'm not a reactor and am a relatively new Home Fry, but I have learned to watch the studio version, then see how awesome their live version is after. I do love how they like to switch it up in the live shows, like adding the beatbox section to Mayday. If you decide to watch All About That Bass, please do yourself a favour and watch the bloopers as well, they're hilarious!
I know this is a few months old but Id say your in the best fandom group out there. Home Fries are great people and you will be and are forgiven my brother!! Keep the faith..you display the skills and talent with every reaction! Rock on Team Saucy
We told you Tim had a 5-octave range. 😊 Catch Tim & Austin's "My Maria".....and Tim's original song, "Snow Globe". I personally think Chance is a more well-rounded versatile member of the group than Chris was. That's just me. Having Chance capable of taking over the bass, it frees Tim to take the lead occasionally. Chance has a 4-octave range, and can reach some tenor ranges as well. Tim says they are grateful Chance didn't join Pentatonix. I love your personality and sense of humor. Have you reacted to End of the Road yet?
Hey smiling here. The video gives you an idea of how much better it sounded to the audience than it sounded over the 'phone' recording. The recording on the other hand proves that they sound just as great live as they do in the videos.
You’re funny and no, you’re definitely not stupid. Thanks for reacting to this version. I second you watching the “My Maria” video with Austin, Tim, Sebastien Douyon, Chris Chatham, and Christopher Marion. I was blown away even though I am a seasoned Home Fry (pun intended ;) Also, you keep saying you’re not a country fan but deep down, I think you are. 🤠
Man I love your reaction, you remember myself when i discovered this amazing group. You do not screw up, I must say that was our fault, when we told you to do mayday we must say you to do the studio version knowing how much you enjoy their live staff. Anyway i own you a huge thank you. In this moment of my life when everything is collapsing around me i found myself waiting all day to see your video , they give me real joy and in this moment only few thing do. So thank you man, keep it up
Also I have a suggestion: you might want to see Austin and Tim with their friends in Austin's backyard doing their rendition of "My Maria". Austin's friend Sebastian Douyon plays keyboards, while Tim's longtime friend Chris Chatham plays guitar and does high tenor vocals, and Tim's brother-in-law Chris Marion plays bass guitar. Absolutely fantastic....watch the entire video after the song ends for some interesting info.
I love watching folks react to HF, your facial expressions are priceless. I been listening to HF I guess 4 yrs now or longer, and every reacter is precious when they discover Tim's range, that Chance can sing bass, and Adam Rupp is a walking talking breathing percussion section on his own. And then Rob is one of the smoothest tenors out there and well what can ya say about Austin, a voice as smooth as butter and damn well better be insured by Lloyd's.
Love that you did this version so quickly. 🥴 ... I would recommend doing the videos first, then the live versions.... but you are awesome and appreciate you. 👍😁. Since you love Rob's voice (who doesn't) please look at "End of the Road". Such an amazing job with Rob as lead.
Catching Tim singing in the rafters instead of the basement always gets everyone .. This song has Special impact. It gives a really good feel for everyone ranges and teaches the lesson never to expect you think you know what's coming.. Next check out Austin and Tim singing My Maria from Austin's channel or Tim's audio only version of Can't Help Falling In love. It's confusing at first but us die hard Fries will walk you through. If you want a special treat check out What Child Is This on Chris Rupps channel you can hear everyone sing together. All 6 of them.
No apologies are necessary. These guys are great no matter what! You already know that just by your reactions. I don't think anyone will stop watching your channel just because you listened to the live version. Now...Chris left in 2016 to pursue a solo career. He hand-picked Chance to replace him when he left. Chris can go low. You need to listen to some of his solo work. He also does reactions to Home Free...usually showing how the videos were made. Keep going with your reactions. You're doing great!!!
LOVE the versatility of our amazingly talented fellas!! 🥰. Every member of Home Free could absolutely be a solo ⭐ star ⭐ but their harmonies together are MAGIC!!
Nah man, you're not an idiot, it was an honest mistake born of a desire to do something cool. God knows we've all been there! And this was a kickin' reaction. Loving going along for the ride on your Home Free journey!
this is sung in the original key of the female artist. Criss Rupp leaving mad space for Chance to come in and raise the possibilities to endless for HOME FREE
In this rabbit hole you are learning the extraordinary diversity of the range of all of these guys, they are the most nibble group to be able to shuttle back in forth from tenor to bass. And their ability to sing so many different genres of any group i have encountered. They simply are amazing an bring it everytime. best wishes and thanks to for reviewing their music.
I love your reactions you're so awesome.. Oh Home Free God there's just not enough words to say about you.. absolutely adore you...I've been with you from the beginning.. oh you're going to be surprised what each one of these men can do in this group.. prepare for an amazing ride..
I am with you sir. I know the official story is Chris left for a solo career, but the addition of Chance took them to another level. I have always wondered if Chris actually strategically stepped back for the better of the group.
I must have watched a hundred reactors react to this song, nobody ever had a head-tilt upon hearing Tim LOL! "Mayday" is a song that cannot be unheard... Fun reaction!
Thank you for coming back to the video. You are awesome!! I heard Tim interviewed one time and he was asked how he warms up. For singing his bass, he says he just needs to talk a bit, but for the tenor, he has to do a bit more work. It sure pays off though!!
Glad you did this so quick. We just love to watch our fav reactor's minds blown, when the boys switch things up. Phone videos just don't show their true awesomeness. Just a bump in the road on your Home Free journey. You're fine and I really enjoy your sense of humor in your reactions. Laughter really is the best medicine. May your channel grow, we don't want to lose you.❤️
So glad you reacted to this, as always you are super fun to watch 😁 Three things: Chance was the bass in his previous Acapella group Tim's range is insane. Check out his backyard cover of My Maria with Austin Brown Chris Rupp founded the group with Adam, then went solo in 2016 and Chance took his place Chris also has amazing range. Check out his solo work.
Great reaction. You're the first reactor that I have seen that noticed the crane hook. Always fun to see the reaction to how high Tim can sing and finding out how low Chance can go. LOL
No you didn’t “screw up”. I love live versions of Home Free songs, too. But it is a running Home Fry teaser for new reactors to ask them to wait until they are sure who sings what part and then hit them with Mayday. It’s just such a mind blower after songs like Ring of Fire. Oh and Chris (wears a hat, usually) not Chance is Adam’s brother. Chance used to sing bass in his previous group, and when he joined Home Free, Tim could pass off the bass line and sing some tenor for a bit. They all have quite extreme ranges so this is fun as a test of voices. Thanks for your reaction
Love it if “End of the Road “ is next. Rob is amazing. Then “I Can’t Outrun You “ for Chance, also amazing. I believe that Chance’s addition has made their sound richer.
Awwwwww, Saucey, we LOVE you!!! You are amazing and so much fun (I really wish I had emojis *sigh*) One thing I liked the live version for and was glad to see it, it spotlighted each one of the guys doing a little beatboxing besides Adam. That was cool, beyond that, I am so glad you watched this one. Sending you little unseen hearts, just know they're there :)
Love this because every single member really brought it to the highest level of Awesome every one of them really shows something new in their skill set. I am way to attached ? invested? because I just feel so Proud of them!
For Christmas I recommend *Snow Globe* (original co-written and sung by Tim in upper range) and *Do You Hear What I Hear* (arranged by Adam) and *Full Of Cheer* (you'll love it).
You are hilarious. I love watching your reactions. I have seen conversations about how great you are and I totally agree! I love these guys. They are so down to earth and are so talented. Thanks for your reactions to Home Free😁
Chris went solo but found his replacement Chance (actually named Adam because that would be too confusing, they call him Chance). Christmas is coming. Austin (who was plucked off a cruise ship where he was performing) wrote an ORIGINAL Christmas song titled, “Cold Hard Cash.” It’s great and the perfect time to hear it. 😬
You have redeemed yourself!! 😁 In your defense... I'd never heard the beatbox breakdown they did in the live. So, you showed me something new! Thank you!
What sent you sideways is that everyone in the group is versatile. Chris Rupp left to pursue a solo career, he left on very good terms with everyone in the group. Tim was very upset about his leaving.
Yep, 2 basses, 2 baritones, and 4 tenors all wrapped up in 5 bodies.

These guys can sing anything 🤯❤️🕳🐇
Hey smiling here. The video gives you an idea of how much better it sounded to the audience than it sounded over the 'phone' recording. The recording on the other hand proves that they sound just as great live as they do in the videos.
You’re funny and no, you’re definitely not stupid. Thanks for reacting to this version. I second you watching the “My Maria” video with Austin, Tim, Sebastien Douyon, Chris Chatham, and Christopher Marion. I was blown away even though I am a seasoned Home Fry (pun intended ;)
Also, you keep saying you’re not a country fan but deep down, I think you are. 🤠
I never get tired of watching reactions to this. You expect one thing and get something different. I'm loving your reactions.
Tim Foust shows his range singing Little Red Riding Hood (live) Patreon Party
End of the Road is an absolute must for Rob, and Blue Ain’t Your Colour.
@@rllangevin3841 - yes....Blue Ain't Your Color is fantastic. They NEVER disappoint. 🥰
Agree
no, Chris did not hand-pick Chance.....Chris himself says in an interview that was not true.
@@cindyshawver9986 right. Just a rumor.
LOVE the versatility of our amazingly talented fellas!! 🥰. Every member of Home Free could absolutely be a solo ⭐ star ⭐ but their harmonies together are MAGIC!!
Glad you are watching the video. You're an awesome dude.
There you go buddy! I knew you had it at the head tilt.
My Maria with Austin and Tim in the backyard next! Tim has gotten even better!
Nah man, you're not an idiot, it was an honest mistake born of a desire to do something cool. God knows we've all been there! And this was a kickin' reaction. Loving going along for the ride on your Home Free journey!
One of Home Free's best song in my opinion, but ALL of them are soooooo good.
this is sung in the original key of the female artist.
You didn't screw up you just couldn't tell who was singing in that video. Thanks for redoing this song.
Awe…glad you liked the video. You’ll get it. Best part of day today! Thx
I must have watched a hundred reactors react to this song, nobody ever had a head-tilt upon hearing Tim LOL! "Mayday" is a song that cannot be unheard... Fun reaction!
You were having a day like I have had, which makes me run to Home Free. They bring back my smiles!
May your channel grow, we don't want to lose you.❤️
I'm just waiting to see your face when Chance comes in lol
Sincere reaction.
Yeeesssss! That's the LOOK grasshopper. LOL
So glad you reacted to this, as always you are super fun to watch 😁
Three things:
Chance was the bass in his previous Acapella group
Tim's range is insane. Check out his backyard cover of My Maria with Austin Brown
Chris Rupp founded the group with Adam, then went solo in 2016 and Chance took his place
Chris also has amazing range.
I can attest that Rob #overalls kills it in End Of The Road! Lots of fantastic work from our boy Adam in that song too! 🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼
I just had to add, you had me laughing all the way through this so hard my stomach hurt. You gots funny bones, sir.
hahaha your facial expression Glad you liked this. you ARE the best reactor.
Love you.You are the most interesting reactor on the internet today
Ok. You got me. The dead look and the monotone my whole life is a lie.🤣😂🤣😂im still giggling. That was great👍
Love your Home Free reactions....You're adorable!
Great reaction. And it would never call someone a dummy.
Yea !!! Thank you !!! I love this one !!! And I would NEVER call you an idiot !!! I LOVE your reviews !!! 😘😃
Great reaction, again. For more of Tim’s unbelievable range = My Maria with Austin Brown…..
Thank you!
It's ok man. home frys are very sensitive about the boys including myself. Tim's range is amazing including the rest of the guys.
Haha! No worries!! Glad you got to watch this!!
Thank sweet baby jesus!!!!!! Lol. I am lovin you bro!!!
What sent you sideways is that everyone in the group is versatile. Chris Rupp left to pursue a solo career, he left on very good terms with everyone in the group. Tim was very upset about his leaving.
Lol you didnt tick us off, us Home Fries just love to see reactors shocked faces 🤣🤣
Both you and Home Free make me happy 😊
Yes, Chris left in 2016 to start a group with his sister, Adam Chance stepped in and is a fabulous singer. He is a baritone with a 4 octave range.
