I believe you should have allowed or pressed Aaryn to talk about her thoughts and knowledge as a black trans woman more. I find it very odd that you talk about prison incarceration & trans black women without having a black trans woman input more on that.

yeah this was a major misstep, it felt like she was only there as a token figure for the conversation at hand.

Agreed. Reproducing in the structures they are critiquing. Who is used to taking up space and who is not?

Once your trans, being black is the least of your identity issues

My go off is about how ineffectual this interview was. I wish that the interviewers would have engaged Aaryn more about prison abolition. But these interviewers clearly did not want to take it in that radical or Black of a direction.
I do appreciate the backstory about Bayard Rustin from Darnell, doe.

Abolishing prison is an insane idea. Talking about dystopia. 😂

Why didn't you ask Aaryn more questions? She hardly got to say anything. That was really unfortunate

also I think that regardless of Sarah Jessica Parker's intentions, the word she used was problematic and in my opinion, I think she needed to acknowledge that, apologize, and learn actual gender-neutral pronouns. (the "but she's so NICE" argument ignores the fact that regardless of intent, transphobia is not "nice," it's hurtful.)

Would rather prisons not exist. I'm fking dead. Bet you wish they'd outlaw all the guns too. And no cops! You must LOVE BEING A VICTIM.

Why does it have to be black history month to discuss someone of color who was over looked or forgot about?

The host are doing way too much talking, instead of letting the guests speak about their own struggles.
