- In this episode, Jamie showcases what we consider to be an exploit. However, this is not cheating; just a workaround to the perceived boundaries of Transfers AI.
Imagine signing dozens of players for free and then being able to sell them at once. Too good to be true, right? Well, it's possible if you follow the steps explained on video!
Would you class this as a #FM20 #exploit? Should this be on Football Manager 2020? This could change the way you play every save.

I can confirm: This trick is still working on FM21. Playing as Milan, Rebic is there as a new transfer after he was made permanent in the exchange with Frankfurt. I have no need for him, as I have Hauge, Leao, Viktor Fischer, and Depay on the left attacking midfielder. Normal 'Offer to Clubs' does not work, it says Rebic doesn't want to move clubs so soon. So I warned him of his conduct, and threatened to place him on the transfer list. Then I offer him out for 20m pounds (he's worth 17.5m). ManUtd came with a 20m bid and took him away from me. Life's good.
Bare in mind you'll pay signing on fees/agent fees which come from your transfer budget. If you was to do this i would recommend being creative with contracts - Wage increases after 5 appearances etc (they won't hit them appearances which could lower their demands for agent/signing of fees)
9:05 the entire squad is unhappy, one of many reasons why this is not something worth doing
Although I havent tested this, Im fairly sure this only happens when you do this to : 1. an influentual player - which he wont be after arriving at the club for a day OR if the players ability is so good , its a pretty heavy loss to the squad to sell him. This can often be averted by promising to sign a new player ( and then actually do it ofc.. ) in its place. Would love to hear more about this though

Wow! I did that years ago with Tom Cleverly after he left United on a free. Signed him for Bournemouth and sold him by the start of the season. Must of been FM15 or earlier. Well I have no idea how I did it and have tried on more recent version but its never happened again until you've showed me this. I was starting to think I imagined it.
I miss this game so much, its the reason I need a PC.

What effect does this exploit have on team morale? Too many players brought in and transfer listed surely is going to have a dressing room effect and thus affect your squad dynamics.
It makes the whole team unhappy
Technically the exploit here is how easily you can make the player want to leave. The AI wanting to buy a player that was just signed does not strike as odd to me, but normally that doesn't work as they have no interest in a deal with another club. I think a way to "fix" this would be making the squad unhappy at the treatment towards new players.
This is exactly what you see about Denz Undev at 9'05. Is this solved in FM21 or 22?
I personally wouldn’t use it , ruins it for me but of course everyone can do What they enjoy , there use to be a cheat to sell players for any fee you wanted so like selling a 10 grand player for 100 mill on some of the older games.

In game editor. Can still do it but removes the fun of playing

I've known about this since at least Football Manager 2018, it wasn't often done on 2018, but was insanely easy on 2019 as I used the San Matteo database from 2018 from your site with league modifications by me (less leagues, less prize money etc.) and the amount of money I've made from flipping free transfers makes it so easy to start at the bottom with nothing and bankroll your club as even 20-30k a player adds up
Literally tried this with 10 different players and it didnt work for me
I've done this without moving the players to the youth team, just transfer list them. I was doing a homegrown save and my board signed two non Italian players. I don't think this is a trick if I can do it as easy as that.
This is about as much of cheating as exists in the universe
This works without putting them in the kids.
I sign players on a free and the second they join the club, offer them out and 99% of the time they get an offer for their value.
Okay, nice, but what about squad's dynamics after these quick transfers. How are other players? Sad, angry, unsatisfied? In my opinion, dynamics are super important in FM20. Thank you
Question I play FM2020 Touch on the nintendo switch, do these exploits or tactics work on there as they do in the main game on PC?

It didn't work with hartem ben arfa,there is no offer for sale but loan,ben arfa also doesnt want to leave

Tried it today, Leicester City on Fuchs who has just signed a new contract at the start of the game. Doesnt work..
It happens IRL occasionally so I think it's acceptable every so often
Just cheat if you want to man, nobody cares. No need to try and stretch to rationalize it. It’s a single player game. Just do what you want

Yes, it is an exploit. The game naturally blocks such transfers because it is not realistic. There is no such thing in the game. This is the same as half-money transfers. It is a football manager, which is to reflect this sport as it is in reality.
not true, this happens in real life, it’s not common but it isn’t that rare, of course that normally doesn’t usually happens with good players
How many times has this happened in the history of professional football? Several times and these were really separate cases. A team that would do something like that would lose a lot of trust and new players would not want to have anything to do with it.

This seems to be very inconsistent I tryed it with notts county and hearts and it didnt work. I then tryed it with benfeca and it did work. In the notts and hearts ones it said that the players had just joined- so there was no interest. I did the steps correctly. Bit of a warning to players incase you end up with a lot of dead wood at your club for trying this.

I do it without talking to the player or moving him to the U18 squad. Sometimes I just loan them out to increase their value and sell them 6 months later. But there's no need to do all that, just wait a week or two and if they definitely don't fit your team, try to sell them. But there is absolutely no need to talk to them and moving them down.
Doesn't the sign on bonus kill your profits?
Noted in the video you had an unhappy squad as this behaviour would have a negative impression on them. This could impact your reputation with the squad and you could lose the dressing room..
What’s the point? We were playing fm just for that managing a football club experience tho.

Why would a club in their right mind suddenly pay millions for a player they first, weren't interested in, and secondly could have picked up for free? Makes no sense.
Probably because they didn't know about this player before. When you offer the player to clubs you notify every club in the word that this guy is available.
It’s not super realistic, but it works in the game because the teams don’t actually “think”. They don’t consider their old “opinion” on a player. If you’re man united and you sign a player, chances are his value will jump up, and that boost in reputation or value may be enough to tick a box for the computer to trigger a bid when offered out.
As a Spurs fan, seeing the first 2 seconds of the video actually made me laugh

I guess as it occasionally happens in real life then it's not an exploit as such but buying say 5 or 6 players and making a fortune would seem to be an exploit.
Not something I would choose to do as it seems like a shortcut to success but you own the game so you can play it however you see fit.
I wouldn't really use this. But I'd imagine it would work with players who have just signed for a club at the start of a new game.

I didn't warn my player and it still worked, there's another tweak that you should try when you know you're gonna sell the player, offer him huge wages after reaching 5 matches, the player will accept half the wages that was asking iniatially and will be easier to find him a new team.
There is another way to do this exploit, with even more profit. Sign them in January for a free transfer once their contract expires. Normally you can sign even younger and talented players. In clubs like Benfica, you can make between 30 to 50 million for each player after the 2nd season.
this is unrealistic because normally after 1 or 2 attempts new players would not want to join your club. Also this would bring huge media attention and can even be penalized by authorities.
For the people talking abt squad morale, if your squad is League two tier like mine, then it really doesn't matter what the players think. I change 75% of my sqaud every yr.
Are you not loosing money because of the signing bonus when you take a « free » player ?
No, because the signing bonus comes out of your transfer budget, but a portion of the transfer fee you gain will go back into the transfer budget. Also you can be creative and offer lower wages with an increased wage after 5 games as said in the video, to lower the signing on and agent fees.
Lol ive been doing this without knowing it as an exploit..i thought i was smart..since forever..the only downside for me is..i never see any good player below the age of 25 as a first team player anymore because for me they are an item/product to sale.. 🤣
Ps: my style is..get the player sign in and sale him immediately.. (with not needed tick) usually club will buy him with his full price.. unless the player had price more than 20 millss... if u didnt sale him right away ..no one will bid for him ..unless u talk to him..that is how i do it..instead of talking to player like the guide in this vids.. and yes..ive made 250millss this season with fc united this season..
It doesn't make so much sense, you got 900k for transfers but you sold a player worth 1.7mil that you got for free who could push you towards promotion, wouldn't it be better to play him?

You don't even need to go through the process of unsettling the player. At all.
Get them in. Offer to clubs. Boom.
I think this will breaking the game, I won't do this for extra income and pushed the game to unbalanced.

I wouldnt call it an exploit, but doing it repetitively yeah its an exploit. My question here is how can I search for free transfers, love signing them but only see what the scout recommends
There are no tricks into tricking teams that they have been with the club for a long time. I just get the players to the club and offer straight away for face value.
Exploit, and shouldnt be done. If someone want to cheat, you can just use the editor instead.
Showing it makes developers aware of it and it's their job to correct that afterward.
+ As it is a solo game everyone is free to do what they want, the one telling what you are saying rn are stupid ppl who want everyone to think the way they do

Have to be a really good manager to stop your players revolting against you for doing this. They'll kick up a stink fairly often

Good exploit but not one I would use. Might as well just edit the club's cash/transfer balance if you're going to take advantage of this game limitation.
Not much difference between doing it straight away or 6 months later, couple thousand in wages thats it

and this is how you raise capital to sign that 600 million release clause player.
Tbf Mbappe is available for ~220m in the first few transfer windows. When he moves to an AI club he's still available for 340m later. Doubt there are actually 600m release clause players. Barca and Real putting a 60m release clause on their wonderkids is annoying though.

When we post loopholes, it's for the good of the game. This is a extremely new exploit and when we post videos like this, they generally get seen by a wider audience including FM.
Defo cheating!! But if you’re going to do it, the fee you get for selling them needs to be higher than the loyalty fee and agent fee you paid when you signed the player for “free” otherwise you won’t make any money.

This is beyond game breaking. This is a pure destruction of the game and you found an edge case the coders obviously never considered.
this is not a cheat by any means i would much ratha do this then use someone elses overpowered tactics annoys the hell out of me that does..basically means your shit at the game so lets go copy someone elses stuff
As long as you don't hoover up 20 free agents I wouldn't consider this particularly exploitative. For as a one off example in my Chelsea save Memphis Depay became a free agent, so I got him in as I had £80m annual salary to play with, and because he didn't fit in my system I had to play him and speak to him and eventually it took me 3 transfer windows to get £35m for him. With this trick I know i could've got £30m for him day one and I didn't have to rotate him in and potentially threaten results and bad morale for him, it's not the players fault that the AI doesn't recognise a player has instant sell on profit. It's only as much as an exploit as a Mexican club signing a player as an important player on £1.3m salary when you as a Ligue 1 team offered him £2m and star player with much better incentives in your contract.
