CAN I OUT CREATE AI? MICKEY ASTRONAUT

- I wanted to give it another try and see if Ai was more creative than me!
Here's my idea:
Take a Mickey Mouse toy and do a mashup with a Buzz Lightyear action figure.
The prompts I had in my head and that I gave to my buddy for Ai are:
Mickey Mouse in a Buzz Lightyear space suit, color scheme bule, white and silver, Mickey hands and feet.
The end result that Ai generated was surprisingly close to my creation. Let me know what you think, did I out create Ai?
I hope you enjoy this custom toy mash up video!
Thanks for visiting DR Toys, and as always...

the fact u freehand such a large piece is wild, great build
Thanks so much. This was a fun one for sure!😃
Mickey Lightyear is cute and cool. A Mickey like this will protect the universe and the world in peace.😆 Character collaboration works are fun just to watch. I'll try making it too.
Dave, really awesome conversion of Mickey!!! Love his new proportions!! ❤😊❤
Thanks
@@DRToysCreations you are welcome 🤗
Well Dr. you beat AI again! The figure looks great and I think the painting really looks good. Thanks for sharing this and I am looking forward to your next tutorial.
Awesome, thank you!🙏
Dang, You vs AI was very similar this time around. I do like yours better due to the taller Mickey vs the AI version. Yes the AI looks polished (due to being a digital image) but yours just feels better, using Buzz's suit was a good idea. I love how you did the magnets for the hands, and adding the MM on the chest, that was a nice touch.
Maybe food for thought. On the reveal do your creation along with a picture-in-picture of the AI render in the top right corner so you can have an easy side by side comparison of the two.
Overall noce job
That a great point. Thanks so much!🙏
Much preferred your version. AI doesn't quite cut it this week.
Awesome! Thanks.🙏
Great video. It was cool to see how close the AI was to the color scheme you chose. When I think Mickey I usually think, red, white, black & yellow; so I let out a genuine, "oh wow" when I saw you both used blue on the spacesuit. I also wanted to say thanks for the work you do. I've learned alot from your videos. Recently I used the tea light led trick you used in one of your older builds and I have that same Buzz Lightyear figure put aside for a future project so watching you take it apart a bit has given me a leg up on what to expect; so thanks alot and I'm looking forward to seeing more of these you vs AI videos.
You are so welcome!!! Thanks for watching.😃
The suit's color is not something I would associate with Mickey but the paint job turned out really good.
Great point and I agree. Interestingly enough there’s a few Mickey astronauts that Disney produced over the years with different color schemes and blue and white is one of them.
I think it was for Space Mountain. Don’t hold me to that…😅
Mickey borrowed Donald's space suit 😂
Wow, that was very close..I can't really choose what's better..lol..same idea and yet unique on their own.
I was shocked at how close they were as well. I think one thing that Ai and I did different is I was using the new Buzz body from the new Lightyear movie and Ai used the old 1995 style body. Still pretty amazing what Ai can do.
@@DRToysCreations
Yeah that pretty amazing.. I look forward your next challenge 😄👍
Yours have a human proportions, which makes Mickey more interesting. Very cool idea, seems simple but requires quite a lot of work as you have said. Bravo!
Thank you very much!
I find your "headswap" creations to be some of the most interesting, even if not most technical, builds. The reason being that to be able to transform a figure from one thing to something entirely different by changing a single part is absolutely amazing! I will say the AI version of Mickey is "cuter" as in it's a clean CG image, but you beat out AI simply because you put effort and care into your build which is now a real thing! That will always be more amazing than AI generated images! Great job!
Thank you. I appreciate that. For me I always strive to make it more than just a head swap, I’m always thinking about the design of the paint and how it can help transform it into something completely different. It’s a pretty fun design challenge. 😃
Haha, this looks cool, i was really hoping youd try lining up the buzz head on Mickey's body for a laugh but maybe that would be a bit too Sid.
Unfortunately I hacked the Mickey body to pieces…😬😂😂😂
Thanks for watching!
I’m rolling with the Doc every time!!
YES!!! Thanks Art!!!
Nobody has mentioned AI Mickey's TAIL. Originally he did have one but it was dropped (or is that lopped) early on in his career. I have to say I like the AI proportions better, as well as the shiny blue boots and spaceman gloves. As an old school EPCOT Center nerd, I'd have painted Mickey's spacesuit silver.
Ai did a pretty good job with this one for sure.
Thanks.
Another Awesome "John Henry Challenge" very cool.
I think the only thing you are missing is the Mickey Tail, but other than that you Rocked It.
Awesome Job My Friend.
👍👍👍
Love the J.H.C.s keep them coming it's so cool to see Man Against Machine!!!
On mine his tail must be tucked inside the suit!😂
Thanks so much!
@@DRToysCreations Ouch lol 🤣
That Ai-generated Mickey was LAME. You definitely beat it
😂 Awesome, thanks!
Your kitbash wins hands down! The only thing that I think would have made this a little better would have been keeping the classic red, yellow and black colors for the space suit.
Thanks. I went back and forth on that so many times. The color scheme actually comes from a Space Mountain color scheme Disneyland used for Mickey but not a lot of people are familiar with it.😊
@@DRToysCreations that makes total sense, and you're right, I was not familiar with that color scheme. Keep up the great work!!!
This is brilliant!
Thanks!
brilliant
Thanks
Nailed it! I do like the foot color on the AI one a bit better, but I think keeping the Mickey feet was a better idea. Looks clean, like it came off the shelf! Nice work Dave!
Yeah I agree. There are definitely some things on the Ai version that I was like “that’s nice”!😃
Thanks!
It looks great!
Super cool. Do you have plans to make the dome helmet?
Thanks. Probably not, the ears stick out a little too far. It probably could be done but I’m already working on the next build.😅
this looks cool. i'm curious as to what would happen if he had one of those model kits, like the ones for model starships, like the ones from the starfield type games and a bunch of stuff from a place like, home depot? like small tubes and stuff for a light switch, what would the end result look like? i'd like to see a video, involving something like that.
I also keep the boxes and do somethings with them
Hi Dave. I loved your approach and the finished product. You beat the AI in my opinion. Human creativity is far better. Thanks once again for sharing your work with us. Graeme
Thanks!❤️
maybe you need to add something to the head part (shading, detailing, etc), so people can't say another harsh words as "only head swap"
That’s a good point.
Thanks.
🐭
This is soooo cool i really your mickey
Thanks
@@DRToysCreations np... you should do a build as Luigi riding a Goompa Mech lol that would be so cool!

YES!!!
Thank you!😃
Super Cool 💎 I Love Your Channel You Give Me Hella Inspo Bro 💎
Glad to hear it! That’s the main thing that keeps me doing it!😃
Citdial Paints???😊
Actually, I used Vallejo paints this time. they’re a little bit cheaper and they still covered pretty nice like the citadel paints.😃
Both Brand of Paints are Good
I actually like the AI version, mainly because it is clean and crisp - not weathered.
It does have a nice polished look to it. Thanks for watching, I appreciate it.
yours is much better
Thanks!
"Just a simple head swap." -Negative Noodnik who loves the world to burn.
There are simple head swaps, yes. You pop a head off two toys, without damaging the neck joint, and pop Barbie's head onto Ken's body and vice versa.
But to do it in a manner that looks natural. Blended. Real. That takes skill and time.
Matching colors, making things that don't fit...fit.
People who say something is stupid, or easy, are people who don't know how to do something, are angry that they don't know how to do something, so they must cut down those who *do* know in order for themselves to feel superior.
It is happening far too much lately.
Fortunately, most artists are standing up for themselves and, at leadt, dismissing the Noodniks. And that is wonderful.
I very much enjoyed your build.
The A I was okay. But I enjoyed your efforts more. Your deep blue is also more vibrant, in my opinion.
Be Excellent to each other and Party on. 🤘😎🎸
I appreciate your insight. You hit the nail on the head. As a graphic designer for my day job the last 25 years I’ve built up pretty thick skin but it is interesting to me how there are a small group of people who are negative to some of my work for no apparent reason.
Fortunately that’s a small group, for the most part I have found my audience to be amazing!❤️
From my first video I decided I will always take the high road and always be kind even if someone is nasty. Life’s too short to be mean!😃
@@DRToysCreations That is a wonderful way to deal with the world. As I sign off with Bill and Ted's mantra, "Be Excellent to each other and Party on." Life *is* too short to be miserable.
I try to not let the world get me down. But it's difficult at times.
But most Creative People are pretty wonderful and compassionate. Something the world needs more of. 😊
On my channel I have mostly Fallout 4 content (Settlement builds and such), but I also have a few videos of some of the models/kitbashes I've created.
The builds have received a number of comments over the years. Most of them favorable. A few negative.
But their negative "reasons" make no sense ('A-wings could never have an Astromech Droid. That's a stupid build.')
It is called creative license and art Noodnik. 🙄
Keep up the great creativity you have.
Be Excellent to each other and Party on. 🤘😎🎸
All this. Yeah, it's a (relatively) simple swap, but simple is what's needed here, not a suitcase Gundam kit.
