If you move left onto the stairs instead of facing them, you drop straight down. Saves time and isn't buggy.

if you press "G" you can move the salvage heads independent of the ship to make it easier

Hey. You could also switch on gimballed mode (hit G) whilst scrapping. This will hold your ship in place whilst letting you move just the heads. Gives a little more control.
Didn’t know you could mix up the active heads (cinch and abrade) 👍

Yup, I always forget this, just made a vid for a beginners Guide to salvaging where I also forgot to add this, face palm.

My crates blew my ship up once i landed in the hangar and hadn't stored it yet. I got out and went to grab the ladder and the vulture blew up. I tried to get my crates and put them to the side then realized i was not able to do anything unless i could call a friend with cargo space available. I couldn't open the back of the vulture it was upside down. I think it could have almost killed me too when it blew. I was lucky i guess. rates stacked right too but this was a bit discouraging. I lost all that time and money.

yesterday I made a 477K profit in one run, 35 SCU in total. Sold the Crusader M2 Starlifter cargo for 47K, It was enough to cover the 50k fee for the salvage rights.

I bet they are already concepting and prioritizing a strait-to-flyable mid-sized salvager for a 3 man crew and we will see it before citcon next year.

Either increase the cargo space of the vulture (just another grid of 3x3 to make it 18 scu)
The other and I think what's going to happen is they are going to make a medium 2 man salvager that can be handled via 1 person.

That's a sweet payday, even without the 11 scu of construction material

If you are just doing one run, then RMC is the answer. It is double the price of CM. But if you are doing multiple runs, then forget the scraping and just munch. It is much quicker. You can fill your hold in 15 or so minutes instead of nearly an hour scraping.
And the best option right now for money/minute is to do the 80k missions at yella for clean ups. You clear the mission as soon as you fracture. Then you also get CM. You can sell the CM at GH right down the way.

Think they should get rid of the 13 SCU buffer and instead make all of the cargo space availible in the Vulture. There can easily be 18 containers + 1 at the ejectport. Give it a buffer of 1 and then auto unload when the buffer is full. The gameplay with moving boxes inside the ship and keeping a huge buffer is kinda silly. Just put an automated crane in the back instead

Yea that's a good option. Or automated tractor beam in back that could also be manned from pilot seat!

Nah. You end up having double the cargo with the cache. You fill up the back end, then fill the buffer. Sell what's in the hold, then pull it out and push to cargo, then sell the rest. Adds maybe 5 minutes to the total and gets you nearly double.

Gonna CCU my Vulture for an Ares. ROC mining is far superior.
