- Our latest, newest Vehicle build series. Christo's Raider. a Toyota Hilux 2021 model; Raider 2.8 4x4; Automatic; double cab
In this episode, we do the suspension upgrade.
All the 4x4 Accessories & gear have been fitted to Christo's vehicle, and now with all the additional weight added we upgrade the suspension to accommodate everything all together.
Foam Cell PRO Suspension kit:
(1) Foam Cell PRO Shocks
Foam Cell Pro shock, the premium shock, built to handle anything.
Originally designed to meet the demands of the armoured vehicle industry where reliability and durability are critical. Foam Cell Pro is the ultimate shock when the going gets tough. Thicker and stronger than any other shock on the market, it is well suited to trades, fleet and serious off-roaders.
45mm piston
65-72mm body
20mm piston rod
3mm wall thickness
Twin-tube construction
Foam cell technology
(2) Load Coil Springs in the front & Load Leaf Springs rear of the vehicle
When your load changes, so should your springs.
Any heavy accessories or towing load added to your vehicle, changes the handling and overall safety when driving.
The vehicle’s springs must be matched to the load for optimum ride height and body control. Ironman 4×4 offers a range of springs to match the additional loads whether they are constant or temporary.
When you start kitting out your vehicle, take into consideration the kerb weight and how much load you are adding, this will change what level of strength you need.
The complete IRONMAN suspension kit consists of 4 shock absorbers, 1 set of coil springs, 2 rear leaf springs, 2 u-bolt kits,1 polyurethane bush kit and 2 greasable shackles for the rear springs.
Suspension is not something you often see when you first look at a vehicle.
But when you need it suspension is the single most important upgrade you can make to your vehicle.

Hilux coming along nicely.
Nice
Hello! I'd just like to ask the Part # of the Coil Spring used in this build up front. Thank you!
Hi Stephan, Christo has the Foam Cell PRO Suspension kit on his vehicle with Performance Coil TOY065B in the front and Extra Heavy Leaf Springs TOY077D in the rear of his Hilux
@@Ironman4x4Africa thank you for the response to my inquiry. I currently have the same Hilux Model.
@@Ironman4x4Africa my hilux is currently all stock and i'd like to know the best coils for me up front.
TOYO55B or TOYO65A cos im really confused. I checked the website and 55B offers 20mm lift at 0-50kg load while 65A offers 20mm lift at 0-50kg load. Will 65A be the right choice for me? Im not planning on installing any accessories. Just the suspension lift will be fine for my Hilux 4x4.
Got a Nitrogas Kit (with add a leaf) last month. All that's left now is the coils.
