Daylight Susquehanna on the Southern Tier

- NYS&W ran two daylight trains over the southern tier as the Millrift bridge was reopened. The two daylight trains that ran were SU-100 and SU-99. The videos were taken on 5/24/23 and 5/25/23.

Just found this and brought back so many memories of summers along the southern tier chasing NYS&W and Conrail back in the earlier 90s. Morning trains used to stop at the Whistle stop diner in Narrowsburg for coffee, used to chase them out of Hankins and then have breakfast with the crew. Beautiful line with not much footage out there

It’s possible that only the first 2 locomotives are actually pulling, the other 2 may be part of a repositioning move.
I have a nice one of these trains in O-scale. Still runs like a champ years later.
So BBC awesome to see them with those SD7M-2 locomotives very underdapprracated locomotives

Well they go over mountains, and the trails aren’t the same length throughout the trip
But yeah that was a short su 100 lol
