Strand, first thing you are gonna do is your new mantra for this. “I will not engage them directly.”
Second thing: “All my disposable minions are gonna live up to their name.”
Third thing: “ My win condition is they leave while I still exist.”
Use these three in concert, lead them to an exit you make and shove them out the door. Bonus points if you send them to the Shadowlands and make them Sharr or the Raven Queens problem…
I mean the Raven Queen would probably "help" the players against Strahd, considering her hatred for inteligent undead. And Strahd is most deffinately an intelligent undead. Soooo. Shar it is I guess?
double bonus points if you land them in either the nine hells or the abyss. let them go ham down there, plenty to slay, demons to bleed. just... if you hear the, and i quote, "Doom Music" start... you start running... cos they beat literal hell.
If Nappa wants to play a monk character with energy attacks, he might consider the Esoteric archetype for the Magus. No alignment restriction, built around unarmed combat, and he has a full arsenal of magic at his disposal to either buff himself or make energy attacks.
*Ques up Strahd clone* all level 20, it's just a matter of how long the party wants this to take at that point.
okay, what straw needs to do is get together a couple of high-level artificers and have them make their normal bombs. Denny's going to need one belt of giant strength. he probably has something like that in the treasury. he also will need an individual who have the ability to use the spell summon steed. for the bombs that our officers make to work, they have to throw them themselves. so what you do is you take the basic saddle pack. summon the steed, which according to the tradition of the table I run for when we do Pathfinder is named Marvin with a number off of it after how many Marvin's we've gone through. You then put all of the artificer's bombs in for that day into the saddle pack of the summoned horse. You then throw the summoned horse with all of the bombs at the adventurers. this will not only do some decent damage. saying is how you can just simply pass the belt of giant strength around to what artificers you have but it will also throw the adventurers off their game because they're being attacked by exploding horses
I love that. "Do you get bored of being you?"
It's John's Dnd character party he's facing, isn't it?😅
Chaosium- okay Strahd, just sign here, here, and here.
Strahd- and there level 20 clerics and paladins in Call of Cthulhu?
Chaosium- oh we’re a skills based system, classes don’t even exist.
Strahd- and the player characters… how tough are they.
Chaosium- Investigators? Oh they’re weak. fragile even, like level 1 wizard.
Strahd- goooood!
Strahd, my guy, what are you doing? You are a powerful, well connected, elder Vampire. Call up one of the Fae queens, use one of those favors you've been hoarding and get them to cause some trouble and draw those goodie-goodies away and ... disappeared. They are geared up for vamp hunting, they might have some secondaries that can handle a few fae but they won't have the gear for High Court.
The DM: Why the hell did I give them so many random encounters...and... rare magic items...
Some of the best Pathfinder characters I’ve seen have been halfling fighters or rogues. We had one on our team who could outwit any bad guy. We often joked we could just toss him into the lair and the target would come out convinced they had been trespassing on his turf all along. Oh, and he was good with a blade, too.
We have a discount wish spell left iver from the last april fools office party. Wanna give him that?
Wasn't that djinn nearly deaf but refusing to go to the doctor? The level 20 barf was both horrifying and hilarious.
@terence7025 accidents can happen, but he's all good now. Nothing a lesser restoration couldn't fix 👌
Strahd having a panic attack, lol! He can’t even breathe!😂
Pathfinder level 20 characters going to Strahd's castle.
Surprised they haven't dropped a tactical nuclear Sunburst spell from the next village over since that thing instantly kills Strahd. Plus extra damage to basically every follower he has around his castle in an 80ft radius while also acting like light which means it can filter into spaces so you can't hide in the closet to avoid it. And the things that do survive are permanently blind now.
After that they'd take the castle since no actual damage happened to the masonry and call the module over.
(Totally not talking from experience at all)
The only thing worse than hyper-optimised level 20 paladins and clerics...hyper optimized level 20 way of the sun soul monks
This is PF1 m8, you can craft a personal Cthulhu at level 5, Strahd is done.
@kain7759 who's to say it's pf1 strahd? It could be any strahd
@@connortheduelist2260 Ye, got mislead by the first part of the video that was about pf1.
Things are about to *suck* for Strahd.
Thankfully 2e loosened up on the alignment lock. As well as general streamlining, it’s good stuff
I hosted a campaign roughly based off the curse of stryhad but something fun I did was make the bbeg able to directly adress the players and me the dm
bloodrager slaps in pathfinder Nappas gonna love it, Arcane especially
Nappa should be a Telekineticist. It's incredibly easy to make them into DBZ characters.
Oh I remember strahd’s castle. I blew up one of its walls, both to disable the courtyard traps from the debris and to make a new opening 😂
Once saw Stahd get bullied by a druid. Turns out summoning a few buzzards is a problem he just couldn’t handle right then. XD
Ohh ! You're about to meet Dor . He hunts Artifacts and sacrifices them to Innana .
Lvl 21 Fighter born 12/25/77
He is accompanied by Gray Stone he hunts demons and devils for sacrifice to Athena .
Lvl 25 Magic User lvl 20 Fighter born 12/ 25/77
Hope you don't have something or someone they want . Their under orders.
Ohh and Flamebringer is hungry . Good luck defending the castle ! Such nice boys 🤠
( They are so screwed )
Kinetic Knight Kineticist would've been a good option as well. Just retheme the "Blade" into a "Fist" and bam. Good to go, and you get energy blasts. Pick the right Infusions, and you can even do Giant Storm! We know how much you love that one, Nappa! ...Was a real baller move in Xenoverse, as well.
Wait, does this Nappa know about the tiiiiiii have said too much.
This gives me an idea. You ever heard of Dungeon Keeper and the like? This wouldn't just be like an evil campaign, but specifically like instead of playing a party of adventurers, you play as the big bads, defending your lair against adventuring parties.
We need villain support with gortash now with durge butting in by calling as well
Yeah, that's gonna suck for Strahd.
Perhaps do something with Vecna given he's the 50th anniversary campaign villain?
Strahd: I don't know who these adventurers are, but they look like they can be a problem. One looks like a human warrior with a whip and a veritable arsenal of daggers, axes, holy water and crosses. There is a human sorceress that is wearing a blue robe and has red hair. They also have another warrior that looks like he a bit pale, but has a sword, shield and what appears to be a fairy familiar sitting on his shoulder. They also have a scruffy looking rogue with a red bandanna and climbing gear. I think I may be in trouble here.
It's not John's Dnd character, but the monk character that Nappa built.
Strahd be like: Funny you should mention that JOHN. But yeah they ARE all of those above AND they are level 20 too, so be my fucking guest and guess why I'm calling you now and like this!
I'm feeling like you do this every single DND night
Honestly, I was expecting the reply to be it’s a party made up entirely of Belmonts. 😜
oooops he was not prepared for that lol! keep being your amazing self :)
Strahd gets the short end of the stick a lot, in 5e for example a level 11 fighter can end him in 6-12 seconds(1-2 rounds)
Shout out to Pathfinder 1e. Hell yes!
Heh. I'm reminded why I prefer point-based build systems like GURPS and Champions to Class-based systems like D&D...you're more defined by what you *can* do, rather than what you can't do. Want to do a basic adventuring fighter who knows a little low-level magic for camping uses as maintaining armor/weapons as they travel? Dead simple in GURPS, even for a simple starting charcter. (Magery 0 or 1 as needed for the setting, your weapon skills, survival skills, and the spell skills at low level). In D&D...it gets complicated, either multiclassing fighter and a magic-using class, or if you're lucky, a mage class that doesn't suck using the weapons and armor. And even then, 'utility' spells aren't all first level or cantrips.
There is a reason why we homebrew is popular with these classes. Sometimes there will be a monk who challenges the beliefs he grew up in. Some Palidans see the corruption in the system and decided to fight against the system for the sake of the people.
In a supplement book for 3rd Edition D&D (what 1st Edition Pathfinder was based on) they had a whole section on what being good means. They said that Lawful Good didn't mean you follow all of man's laws. Some men have made slavery legal, some have made intimacy with minors legal. Following those laws would be evil. To be lawful good you follow either the strict code/ law of the good God you worship, or your own moral code/ laws that is good. A very common misconception. I wish they had put it in the main rulebook.
I still wanna' run an all-bard Strahd party. Go all Macross 7 on him until he learns friendship.
Jokes on you, it is actually a D&D 3.5 party and they are Level 90 using the Epic character rules. Strahd is just a way below level random encounter for them on their way to fighting all the gods.
That party's running one-shot Strahd, he's screwed.
Send Nappa as back up and charge extra
So... A Hexpaladin, a Gloomstalker rogue, a twilight cleric, a divination wizard and maybe a lore bard?
I take it that a Hexpaladin is a multiclass between a hexblade Warlock and Paladin? As for the Gloomstalker Rogue I would make it a Gloomstalker Assassin.
Ahhhh..... I might be able to take this one.
I have a saying. "The more Bullshit you make your character, the more bullshit stuff I get to throw at your character."
Ohhh I like your line of thought…
To truly stop a party of level 20 characters you practically need to become a deity or Pun-Pun to win roflmao
I dunno. I’m so old I’m still standardized on AD&D 2nd edition.
Let me guess, 5 level 20 Painter Wizards came with an army of Cthulhu, that is how i will do this...
Hey Nappa, let's go talk to The Dungeon Coach about DC20
Nah, Tyrant Antipaladin for LE. :)
Please have a part two of suggestions that all become irrelevant because one of them gets a Nat 1 and nukes themselves.
Okay so Strahd is Very Dead on the other hand Nappa is gonna have a Great Time with that Blood Rager.
Alignments in table top are dumb in general, let alone the restrictions they come with. I've never played with a group that actually used them beyond detect good/evil and even then that was unreliable. People are complex, nuance is one of the many spices of life. Characters should be the same, not forced into "Good" boxes and "Bad" boxes.
Theonly point to a chaotic neutral character is for assholes to be assholes without rule ir game based consequences
