I found Terminator Salvation to be a step up from Terminator 3. The war had been talked about for 3 movies but to actually see it. This along with excellent performances by Sam Worthington and Christian Bail made it a worthwhile addition to my collection.
Jaeger_Bishop I don't understand why people hate Christian bale in salvation. He clearly put his all into it. You can hear it in every single line he says. Maybe people just blindly hate him because they were getting tired of different actors playing John, which is a stupid reason to hate an actor.
Christian Bail put his all into tube part however he isn't a very good actor so he still fell short. I'm sure there was a better actor to play John Connor.
Eros Adonis I just love how over complicated the timelines later on become. It's the sequel because it's in the future but the prequel because it explains the first film but we don't know if it's the prequel and sequel for the second film or if that changed because of the events from the second film while Salvation is not the sequel to Terminator 3 but still a prequel because it created the timeline. I really liked Salvation. Marcus being a HYBRID was a nice touch. It brought something new to the table and fit into the timeline without breaking it. I really liked how despite being a Terminator, he still had free will and redeemed himself. It explained how Skynet made the T800s and how John Connor got his scar as well as how he became the true leader of the resistance. It had a solid post apocalypse setting and atmosphere. The machines looked authentic and terrifying. The effects and audio were well made. The plot was simple enough and made sense to me. This film had so much potential and deserved a sequel if not a trilogy. It wasn't perfect but at least it couldn't be as bad as Genisys. It's a shame they are killing the franchise the same way like with Ghostbusters.
@@Veldtian1 the biggest problem I saw from the old fans was that the atmosphere was apparently different?... apparently they wanted laser guns and shit. Kinda sad they didnt realize that the laser guns came later as we can see in the movie the T-800 was still a prototype so clearly this was on the earlier on set of the war.
I actually really liked Salvation, showing off all that gritty detail of the world dominated by Skynet. The hybrid terminator is also an interesting design in my opinion, it's not just a 'make it bigger stronger badder' plot!
People only want a repeat of T2 to satiate their nostalgia. They can't accept anything new. Salvation wasn't perfect but it had enough potential to make a great franchise.
*Loki27* Just because it did something new doesn't mean that it automatically made it good. Stop giving the excuse that it could have been worse and wasn't perfect, but... It was absolute garbage compared to the first two and the ones that made it didn't knew what they were doing. They keep messing it up every time because they have no clue on what made the first two movies good (or what makes a good story in general), they don't respect the universe that Cameron created and wants to deviate too much from the original idea. If you want to create something new completely, come up with a new story altogether instead. If you want to expand from the originals, do that and make up a plausible continuation that keeps it Canon. People are pissed because they keep messing up the sequels despite all the money they are throwing at it and the time they actually have available to create a solid story before starting to film it.
Loved this movie, honestly. Anton Yelchin was a dead on perfect young Kyle Reese. He even had his mannerisms. Great actor. RIP. Hybrid Terminators were the scariest idea since the original movie. Humans turned into terminators that dont theyre terminators creates a whole new dynamic for the resistance to worry about. They seemed to be able to dispatch a T800 with relative ease. But a trusted soldier captured and turned into a terminator could have been devastating. Too bad that angle was wasted and lost.
I really liked salvation. I’m fine yet sad the fandom hated the movie when I felt mcg wanted to really tell a story but I felt he couldn’t translate itself.
The weakest part of that Movie is John Connor - as he comes across as uncharasmatic and unlikeable to me. Some thing I don't think he should be in that role - he seemed more like he needed to be someone inspirational - instead he was kinda of a mash up of various previous elements - if the Movie had been part of a trilogy and not just one movie the whole thing likely would have worked much better - it might actually have been a pretty damn terrific Miniseries too. I don't think it had enough time to lay out it's ideas - but I agree with some of the other Posters Marcus is one of the best elements of the movie.
90 Lancaster It WAS supposed to be a trilogy. And in that case, I have no doubt that Bale would’ve had a character arc that saw him become that inspirational leader that you’re talking about by the third film.
Austin Trench I still think he told a good story and a competent one. A full trilogy (like what was planned) would’ve been great but because the fan base is fickle and critics sometimes hold more influence than should be, it just never got the chance. But I like to think that in a parallel world, there was a trilogy and it was a decent to good addition to the Terminator franchise.

I look at Salvation objectively, as a stand alone film. In that sense it's actually pretty good. It has a raw, visceral feel to it. I really dug seeing more of the resistance and how they functioned. And it's not like t1 is a masterpiece it too has its problems as does salvation maybe even less so
you are comparing Apple's to oranges tho, the reason the first terminator was so good was bc it was ahead of its time (excuse the pun)and for being an action sci-fi movie it could still be enjoyed by mostly any type of audience which is rare for that genre. Obviously giving the visual effects constraints of the time of course there are issues within the 1st film but the acting, the story, and the directing worked perfectly together and were on point. Was it a masterpiece ? No, but for a 6million dollar budget that just wasn't feasible. The action scenes were pretty damn good tho and stan Winstons special effects worked pretty good for what they had to work with. There is only a couple points in the film that don't hold up well visually even today, 34 years later. I think looking at it from a story telling stand point the original terminator is still a far better film than salvation.
@@TheDevilinThePaleMoonlight I think Terminator 1984 also has a lot of elements of a slasher flick in addition to Action / Sci Fi. I respectfully disagree with Staple_Boi. In my opinion, and many others, Terminator 1 is a masterpiece. So many iconic scenes for me. Arnold at the gun store, future wars, police station, practically all of Arnolds lines, the score (that music alone is a masterpiece), and the direction of James Cameron! But that's my opinion!
So the John Connor terminator idea was actually in this movie, interesting. Feels similar to what what’s happening to the new predator movie. Marcus was a cool character, I wish we could’ve got more of him. Your right about the trailers H.

It's quite simple actually, all of the newer models you saw in the factory or the one John had come across had barely enough files to understand how to effectively kill someone, that's why when you see them throwing John around, they literally don't know any better at that moment Wish people would actually do some research

While I disagree with you on the movie, I completely agree with the trailer! I think it's one of the best trailers. I still watch it from time to time even though not a fan of the movie lol. But as for why people give it crap, well for me the tone was off. I loved the dark tone of the first two and felt missing here. There was a Hybrid Dinosaur the Indominous Rex in Jurassic Park 4 Jurassic World. A Human/Alien Hybrid with Ripley 8 Clone and Alien Newborn in Alien 4 Resurrection. A Human/Terminator Hybrid in Terminator 4 Salvation and there will be a Upgraded Hybridized Predator Predator 4 aka The Predator, starting to see a pattern here.
Really good video. I liked Salvation and didn't know why so many people hated it. I thought the hybrid concept was very interesting. Great channel. I subbed and liked.
The sequel would have most likely been the future war that everyone wants. This movie was in the early stages of the war during weapon development of both the resistance and skynet. Next would have been Connor fighting the war with more advanced weapons and discovering taking on the time machine. The worst part of this movie was Marcus talking to Skynet.
One thing i do like about Salvation is that it makes the T-800, which I am a huge fan of, feel Really Dangerous again, for the first time since the first film.
I've always been interested by the fact that Skynet programmed Marcus to hunt down John Connor but at the same time creating the illusion of free will.
Marcus was a great addition into the Terminator myths and one of the element that made Salvation great also in addition of John connor and Kye reese taking part of it
I'm glad to see I'm not the only one who actually liked salvation. We actually got to see the future war, and how terrifying and determined the terminators were on the battle field. Especially the scene with that T-800 that shot its own foot off to continue pursuing Kyle Reese. It was kind of cool seeing Marcus teach Kyle to tie his primary fire arm to his body to prevent being disarmed.
Salvation was excellent. It came at a time before social media, and it was able to to be creative without social media manipulating it. It was dark, gritty and and had great action sequences. In my book, it’s placed 3rd in my Terminator favorites.
Marcus Wright was an AWESOME idea, and Salvation was an AWESOME addition to the Terminator franchise! (I don't care what anyone says 😂👍) The only issue I had was the marketing material giving away most of the crucial plot points right there in the trailer. They really need to stop leaning so hard on nostalgia, at the expense of any actual surprises in the theater. Because spoilers SUCK. Everyone knows it, and the Marcus reveal was MUCH more effective going in NOT knowing about it already before hand. Edit: Haha apparently my complaint is addressed right here in this video lol so, thanks?!! 😂 🤜💥🤛
I Love All of Top 5 Terminator Movies Because I'd Injoyng Them Watching All 5 Movies 1.The Terminator(1984) 2.Terminator 2 Judgment Day(1991) 3.Terminator 3 Rise of the Machines(2003) 4.Terminator Salvation(2009) 5.Terminator Genisys(2015)
Wow, someone who actually likes Genesis. I mean I see why some people say they didn't think it was the best, but I think it's fare from the worst. I thought the whole idea they had of Kyle going back in time only to find the girl he was sent to save wasn't so helpless and she had her own terminator was a heck of a plot twist on the trailers. Sort of like symbolism for the idea that time is not set in stone and can be altered. Also the who John being turned into a terminator was cool to me because we got to see a great hero become a villain while also seeing how those who looked up to him like Kyle were now forced to fight and run from him.
I hadn't seen the trailer prior to viewing the movie, so I really enjoyed the twist. I also liked the idea that the hybrid didn't know it was a machine, the notion that skynet would watch through its eyes without it knowing was quite insidious.
I really liked Marcus' arc. Salvation had ups and downs, but much more interesting good things imo. Marcus being revealed as a terminator was awesome, and his sacrifice for John is peak T-2, but original in its own way.
I’m glad I’m not the only person who liked terminator salvation 6:22 man Marcus the T-hybrid is the perfect combination of man and machine😄😄😄😄😎😎😎😎😊👍🏻!!! So the T-800 was created in 2018 cool😎
I enjoyed Salvation overall. Marcus was my favorite character in the movie. The T-H Hybrid is definitely an interesting model. Like the idea of Skynet using a human to infiltrate the Resistance. I would like to know more about the Hybrid colony Skynet had.
I loved Salvation, and their plans for a trilogy chronicling the whole war and the eventual destruction of Skynet sounded awesome, shame they changed their minds 😞
I wasn't a huge fan of Terminator 3, but I really liked this one, I guess just the fact that we finally get to see the future throughout the whole movie.
Having watched the original Terminator film from 1984 and T2 and enjoyed both immensely and then found the third installment to be somewhat disappointing, Terminator: Salvation was a pleasant revelation, a vast improvement over T3, in my opinion and I felt an important addition to the Terminator story. It was good to see a Terminator film without Arnold for a change. And both Sam Worthington and Christian Bale did a good job. Plus I really loved the post apocalyptic feel of the film.
One thing I’ve never quite reconciled in my head about Marcus is how in the hell was Kyle Reese able to tackle him to the ground when the 600 series HK was shooting at him?
He's programmed by Skynet to act human like when he's in pain after a concussion although he doesn't really feel pain. It's just his programming to make him look more human. Even his strength is programmed to be that of an average human although when required, he can go slightly toe-to-toe with a T-800 and adjust his strength but not to the T-800's level of strength which is far stronger. I've also read somewhere that his endoskeleton is more dense but lighter than a T-800 to add up to the feel and idea of making him convincingly more human. Even his speech pattern is more human since most of the information are from his brain copied by Skynet which gives him the ability to converse like a normal human. About him being tackled by Kyle Reese, in order for his cover not to be blown, he (Skynet's programming, not really him) must show that he's human by letting himself be tackled.
Hell yeah, that's my favourite terminator. -btw apparently there is going to be a new Terminator movie...i hope that they won't ruin the whole franchise..- Nice video as always btw
Marcus to me really sets up a steppingstone between a human and a terminator with organic parts. This also shows that a person with severe body damages can be rescued and continue to live. If Alex Murphy was in the same universe, he could be brought back in the same way. However, he'd be controlled by a supercomputer instead of a human operator as he'd have a chip in his brain.
A more sophisticated terminator hybrid in a female version, is the correct sex robot I want, specially looking like Shakira and dancing very sexy, knowing how to cook all kinds of Mexican food and speaking all kinds of languages, perfect.
The idea of a hybrid was introduced in the Now Comics Terminator series. If I remember right, in issue #3, Skynet was taking the brains of captured resistance leaders and implanting them in cyborg bodies that were copies of the person's original body. The one shown was meant to be "rescued" by the resistance, then it would betray the location of their camp. It was found out and destroyed by a good Terminator that had been created by a moon colony and therefore had no links at all to Skynet.
I loved Terminator and Terminator 2, Salvation was the only one out of the final 3 that I don't mind, it was ok for what it was and was really the only in depth look we actully got of the War.
I found Terminator Salvation to be a step up from Terminator 3. The war had been talked about for 3 movies but to actually see it. This along with excellent performances by Sam Worthington and Christian Bail made it a worthwhile addition to my collection.

A Human/Terminator Hybrid in Terminator 4 Salvation and there will be a Upgraded Hybridized Predator Predator 4 aka The Predator, starting to see a pattern here.
TheCosmicFireStar conversely they took Alice’s powers AWAY in Resident Evil 4.
TheCosmicFireStar yeah I see the pattern here.
A human/transformer hybrid?
Tony Sorrow wouldn't be surprised.
4th movie in a long established movie series, the gimmick new addition to the franchise, a mutated Hybrid version version of Monster.
Marcus Wright is a true cyborg.
Wow having a human robot hybrid that can outsmart robots is unique, its a very cool concept that could lead to very good movies.
A very under rated film and one of my favs in the Terminator franchise.
For me its goes T2, T1, Salvation, Dark Fate, T3, Genesys
Really good video. I liked Salvation and didn't know why so many people hated it. I thought the hybrid concept was very interesting. Great channel. I subbed and liked.
Great vid H as always, Salvation was one of the better Terminator films for me i really enjoyed it.
I was always curious about this. Thanks Mr H for the vid👍
One thing i do like about Salvation is that it makes the T-800, which I am a huge fan of, feel Really Dangerous again, for the first time since the first film.
Marcus Wright was the only cool part in salvation personally to me
Mikal Bowman true.
And Salvation was still better than T3 or Genisys.
Mercenary Knight I just wish the resistance had purple lasers lol
Mikal Bowman, well it was 11 years before the Future War in T1 and T2, an earlier time in the war. LOL ;)
I thought the T-800 cameo at the end was pretty cool too.
Terminator Salvation was actually my second favorite of the Terminator movies. It gave a glimmer of hope but was still very dark with a sense of doom.
anyone here in 2019??!!!! october who miss and loves termiantor salvation?
No
2003 October
I want a sequel really bad would prefer it more than Dark Fate.
Me bro
I've always been interested by the fact that Skynet programmed Marcus to hunt down John Connor but at the same time creating the illusion of free will.
Yeah I have to say I do like this movie despite others hate of it
Marcus was a great addition into the Terminator myths
and one of the element that made Salvation great
also in addition of John connor and Kye reese taking part of it
This Moive was sick why do people hate this Moive
I'm glad to see I'm not the only one who actually liked salvation. We actually got to see the future war, and how terrifying and determined the terminators were on the battle field. Especially the scene with that T-800 that shot its own foot off to continue pursuing Kyle Reese. It was kind of cool seeing Marcus teach Kyle to tie his primary fire arm to his body to prevent being disarmed.
I have an insulin pump, I am a cybernetic organism too!
Special EDy..Model T-D1ab3t3s
Heck yeah!
Salvation was excellent. It came at a time before social media, and it was able to to be creative without social media manipulating it. It was dark, gritty and and had great action sequences. In my book, it’s placed 3rd in my Terminator favorites.
Great video, and a very underrated film.
Fax
T-H: Living tissue, organs and memories over metal endoskeleton.
Marcus Wright was an AWESOME idea, and Salvation was an AWESOME addition to the Terminator franchise!
(I don't care what anyone says 😂👍)
The only issue I had was the marketing material giving away most of the crucial plot points right there in the trailer.
🤜💥🤛
I kinda agree, Salvation was MEH not great not awful
Imagine donating your body to someone or something, without even knowing what's gonna happen.
My Favorite Main Terminator Characters is..
1.T-800; both Young & Old.
2.Kyle Reese.
3.Sarah Connor.
4.John Connor/T-3000.
5.T-1000.
6.T-X.
7.T-H/Marcus Wright.
I Love All of Top 5 Terminator Movies Because I'd Injoyng Them Watching All 5 Movies
1.The Terminator(1984)
2.Terminator 2 Judgment Day(1991)
3.Terminator 3 Rise of the Machines(2003)
4.Terminator Salvation(2009)
5.Terminator Genisys(2015)
Wow, someone who actually likes Genesis. I mean I see why some people say they didn't think it was the best, but I think it's fare from the worst. I thought the whole idea they had of Kyle going back in time only to find the girl he was sent to save wasn't so helpless and she had her own terminator was a heck of a plot twist on the trailers. Sort of like symbolism for the idea that time is not set in stone and can be altered. Also the who John being turned into a terminator was cool to me because we got to see a great hero become a villain while also seeing how those who looked up to him like Kyle were now forced to fight and run from him.
It's because T-X can make their tits bigger on command. Isn't it.
This is actually one of my favorite Terminator movies
Just watched this on TV 2 days ago...
Good timing 👌
I hadn't seen the trailer prior to viewing the movie, so I really enjoyed the twist. I also liked the idea that the hybrid didn't know it was a machine, the notion that skynet would watch through its eyes without it knowing was quite insidious.
I saw this it was pretty cool I thought it gave it a different twist to the story!!
It was ether on the wiki or merchandise that has Marcus labeled as a type of T-700, probably a T-799 B?
Pretty sure he's a T-OTALLY NOT A TERMINATOR.
FutureCloud Marcus is a terminator. He has a terminator endoskeleton.
That's the joke.
le Hoarderz Al-Shekelsteins probs have the same level of power as the T8XX
I really do like the concept of the Terminator Hybrid. I wish the series had done more with them. And that there had been more of Marcus and Blair
I really enjoyed this movie, shame it didn't get a sequel
Having watched the original Terminator film from 1984 and T2 and enjoyed both immensely and then found the third installment to be somewhat disappointing, Terminator: Salvation was a pleasant revelation, a vast improvement over T3, in my opinion and I felt an important addition to the Terminator story. It was good to see a Terminator film without Arnold for a change. And both Sam Worthington and Christian Bale did a good job. Plus I really loved the post apocalyptic feel of the film.
I like terminator salvation but I can see why people don’t like it but I liked the hybrid terminator it was cool
Because that how physic work
Well done chap!😁
Benjamin Gibbons yep !
My top 3 Terminator movies:
1. The Terminator (1984)
2. Terminator 2: Judgment day
3. Terminator Salvation
Perfect lineup . I totally disregard the other movies
More lore please thank you 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾
Have being watching for a year and I just can’t get over your great voice
Say wtf you want but Salvation was a proper sequel
Salvation was actually the last best good Terminator movie...they should have continued that story.
Hell yeah, that's my favourite terminator.
-btw apparently there is going to be a new Terminator movie...i hope that they won't ruin the whole franchise..-
Nice video as always btw
LOL
This video just totally changed how I see that movie. I need to watch this again.
Hey bro good video
I like it when your more serious in your movie reviews..in your talk
i like the terminator human hybrid
Here's my ranking of Terminator movies
1. Terminator 2: Judgement Day
2. The Terminator
3. Terminator Salvation
4. Every other terminator movie
I just didn't care for the Terminator franchise, however, Salvation is my favorite.
Jim Samples Wow, that's rare.
Jack Gray My little bro loves the franchise.
Jim Samples All of the franchise?
Jack Gray Yep... especially the first one... he loves it.
Jim Samples Sounds like a smart kid.
Awesome work Mr.H. I love terminator salvation as well as the previous 3. Marcus is probably my favorite character in the whole series.
Actually a good movie.
Salvation was my first terminator film personality and it’s concepts are so cool and the characters seems pretty well suited for the story I loved it
[This comment attempted to insert a beer joke about Worthington being Bitter... ...But was terminated]
Whas he bitter?
I loved salvation, only thing i didn't like the ending and Christian bale wasn't the lead. The concept, story, direction and style was really good
Why the hell would they keep a real heart? There have been artificial hearts since the 1980’s.
My favorite terminator movie tbh
I actually enjoyed salvation it's my second favourite terminator film after judgement day of course
Marcus Wright was an awesome addition and it is clear he would lead to John reprogramming a T800 later on for T2.
So basically hes wolverine....
Metalic skeleton with extreme regeneration
How did I miss this video?! Such an interesting topic that I didn’t realize I cared so much about until I saw the thumbnail.
it was better than t3 hands down
T3 wasn't bad.
Loved this one always wanted future conflict, didn't notice anything wrong with it because i was enjoying future robots blowing things up
😕 I wonder if Terminators H are engineered at *molecular level* . I mean, *can they breed* ? 😘
Mezie Mbamara Well I suppose with skin on them they have a vag or dick but breed I doubt it they are probably visual.
Automatic protection.
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 my mom asked this question once when we were watching the end of the movie when we saw Marcus kiss Blair!
@@1ztype343 it has skin around the metal part lol
Knowing Skynet, they would put weapon storage in there.
The makeup they did on Marcus was Amazing!
Salvation
Marcus to me really sets up a steppingstone between a human and a terminator with organic parts. This also shows that a person with severe body damages can be rescued and continue to live. If Alex Murphy was in the same universe, he could be brought back in the same way. However, he'd be controlled by a supercomputer instead of a human operator as he'd have a chip in his brain.
A more sophisticated terminator hybrid in a female version, is the correct sex robot I want, specially looking like Shakira and dancing very sexy, knowing how to cook all kinds of Mexican food and speaking all kinds of languages, perfect.
no.
Completely biased and terminaticst.
Also don't you mean "The face behind the man"?
Brain Stem Soup face behind the man is even weirder than his line-flub!
Hunter Daniels We are getting into some Body Horror territory here. Maybe we're on the right track.
Brain Stem Soup let’s get frank Henenlotter on the phone and we’re in business!
I loved Terminator and Terminator 2, Salvation was the only one out of the final 3 that I don't mind, it was ok for what it was and was really the only in depth look we actully got of the War.
