Warning- Do what i do at your own Risk! (hose clamp install tip can be dangerous even if you are careful) Quick tip on installing radiator hoses and hose clamps. #howto #radiatorhose #trick
Sir I like your style. A realistic glimpse into what it’s like to work on cars. Never trust a mechanic that doesn’t swear profusely. Thanks for the chuckle. 🍺
Vaseline will destroy rubber over time, but it will help you get the hoses on easier. Just keep on eye on your hoses periodically if you use it or other oils and greases.
Silicon lubricant is safe for most if not all rubber. I only use vaseline as a last resort. Most people have vaseline, most don't have silicon lube. Well maybe they do for other applications HAHA
Thank you, probably something a little off upstairs. My brain never sleeps, if I allowed half of what goes through my head they would probably commit me!😆
Thanks for sharing this great idea, which I'll be using tomorrow when I install a new hose that connects from the radiator overflow tank assembly to the much dreaded engine oil cooler adapter, which gave me a lot of problems during the replacement process, but your great idea will at least make the hose installation process much easier.
Rinse your hoses out with a bit of coolant/ water. then slip it on while it's still wet. otherwise, pretty good. Oh, well, don't get fluid on your hands/ on the outside of the hose. super slippery then.
Use soapy wate that stuff kills rubber and if under high psi it can push off the line will never dry up like soapy water they use it on window tent also your welcome!!
Let me tell you what. That damn petrolium jelly will change your life with coolant hoses. I had to dig some outa the ol' masturbation station the other day to put all over my hose. Just wouldn't quite go on. Just a little tight!

What should I use?
Agreed, it can. I only use it when having a real tough time in a hard spot

@@TheMechaninition how about some dish soap?
Why not just use a little bit of antifreeze? It's kinda slippery. Even just water would probably be enough, you don't need it totally slimed.
You have a way with words that supercedes most mere mortals. Your videos are worth watching just for that aspect alone.

Shit worked. If my hoses dont last quite as long, at least they are much easier to replace now. Lol
Yea, it can slowly eat away but IMO id rather replace a hose in 5yrs and get it on in 10 seconds lol
@@TheMechaninition lol I'm with you. Especially on a 91 NSX, there's a shit ton of hoses
Lol i bet! Love my older vehicles before they made everything have a module🤣
could i use aquafor instead of vaseline
?
Probably!
👍
😁😁
When he said torx vs Allen, actually Allen= hex, and torx is a star with a pin head recess which makes it a security level fastener.
Just call me out! 😆
I use grease
Anything to make it easier than a dern dry hose!

🤣🤣 I was sure glad when I learned that trick. Saved me a lot of cuss words!
Been trying get radiator hose on for 10 hours and tried Vaseline and it slipped on within 10 seconds
Sorry it took so long, but glad you got er on! Glad I could help. that's why I do videos, sometimes we need a new idea!
Great goddamn video! Vaseline is a great idea!
Thanks! Anything i can do to help take a little frustration off! I know how it can be after nearly 20yr in the biz haha
😂😂😂😂😂
They don't work in tight places
Yea but in certain spots they sure come in handy. Like when a clamp is flipped and can't get pliers to the other ear this will slide right in!
I USE A WD40
that works too!
