Great episode!
Thanks for the feedback!
I think this is one of our best works.
I had heard of Tuff but I have never listened to their music-I will have to check them out-great discussion!
Thanks for the feedback!
Enjoy this discussion even though I was not previously familiar with the band. Thanks!
Thanks Henry!!!
Thanks for watching!
Dang, Steve named the three I was thinking of Badlands, Invasion and Appetite. Never heard of Tuff til much later
A really cool and interesting show! A deep dive for sure! Here's a few other tidbits about the album. That funky breakdown at the end of Ruck-a-Pit Bridge is a shout out to another LA band around at the time, kingofthehill. That's their funkier style of music and the singer contributes a few "B-B-Babys" to the ending segment. If you haven't heard the kingofthehill self-titled album (it's spelled that way and I think they only had the 1 album), it's another good but too-late hair metal record. Also, Bret Michaels wrote the ballad "Wake Me Up" on the album. I think the band were hoping that by recording the song it might lead to an opening tour slot or something. So, all of your comments and comparisons were spot on. Again, I enjoyed the show. Keep up the good work!
Thanks for sharing the inside knowledge on this one!...Really appreciate it
Always a good laugh when Mike's around ... I hope Headmaster Kerr doesn't give Mikey an "F" for his assignment! A favorite, most-played from the era for me would be Ratts' Out of The Cellar - a soundtrack to the summer of '84! Tuff never made it to my radar - somewhere around '86ish I bailed out on the genre. A few bands would still get some attention, but my focus had shifted.
Happy to report I did not receive an "F" and I will be back soon to talk about another band in this genre!
Ha! Headmaster Kerr doesn't give any of the panelists fail for this assignment...It was a lot of fun to do...thanks for watching and the comment as usual!
Tuffs debut is good but I could give you 20 hair metal albums that I would rather listen to from 91 . I think I would even take ‘fist first’ or ‘religious fix’ 🤘
You know, how much money you'd be willing to pay to own something is probably a much more valid type of rating than just giving it a letter grade or number from1 to 10.
$10 for me Reed.
All metal is hair metal! The thrash dudes use to twirl their mops harder than anyone.
