Beautiful work! I'm just starting the same kit, could you share details on the spec of the white LED you used to replace the default yellow? I like the idea but worry about using the wrong type of LED.
Love the model. May I ask the specs for the LED that you replaced for the cockpit? Would like to do the same with mine, but don't know what type of LED (voltage? size) should I get? Thanks
Hey there, thanks for watching.😊 I lit the cockpit fiber optics with standard 3mm bulbs. I choose to go with 3v white/warm white leds because I’m not good with electronics.. This way, I can power my builds with 2 standard aa or aaa batteries without the need to solder on resistors.
Great! You even ditched the decals and did it your self! 🧐 I love the Fiberoptics. Really makes me wanna go and repair my old half destroyed (from playing too much as a kid) plastic models from 1990's, polish them up, repaint and put in leds! It looks just about the same except the x-folding feature is manual.🤓 Also, like the music, reminds a lot of MYST, an old old game from the early 90s.
I like what you did with lighting the cockpit and R2 but personally I prefer the original stand as it looks stylish and conforms with the X-wing, the box just looks plain to me perhaps you could've made it into a Deathstar tile, and also not keen on the connector as it looks bulky.
Dude. The tone of your voice, the subtle music, and your steady, deliberate pacing all combine into this... hypnotic trifecta, which happen to be the exact ingredients needed to form the Perfect Storm of UA-cam model builds.
+1 on that one. I was immediately hooked. I consider myself a pretty seasoned SW fan and model nerd in general but this was just... extra satisfying and interesting. Good work!
It actually WAS red, however color variations in the 1977 film processing techniques made it look magenta. So to be accurate to the ship, it should be red, to be accurate to the film it would be magenta.
Although R2 was not Biggs Darklighter's astromech, its a great job.
@@SDI_IAHawk331 oh yes. I was following the actual screen used props. R2 was on the filming miniature of Red 3.👌😊
@@Plasticstarwars Bigss did have an R2 but it was not the same color as R2-D2. Red 3 (Biggs) had a grey and white astromech.
@ yes I’m aware of that. As I mentioned, I was replicating the ILM screen used prop. 👌😊(modelermagic.com/red-3-studio-model)
Wow stunning
@@og87 Thanks my friend!🙏😊
How much would it cost to buy something like this already put together
🚀 🚀 Very skilled🚀🚀
@@davidgallardo_bautista6094 Thanks for watching!🙏😊

@@kyomeka thanks my friend. I used a 3mm 3v white led diode.👌
Nicely produced video.
Thanks my friend!🙏😊
i don't really get with the chipping and the battered style. it makes a spaceship looks like flying junk.
George Lucas intended it. He wanted to create a ‘used’ universe:)
MUY BUEN TRABAJO AMIGO ...............CONGRATULATION .....
Thank you amigo!🙏😊
PLACEBO.2 ARAIGNÉE.
私が今までに見た動画の中で1番エピソード4の模型に似ています
🙏😊
Great video, nice job, I nearly fell asleep due to the music and your calm tone :)
😂thanks for watching!
Biggs Darklighter's Astromech is a grey and black droid named R2-Q2. Not R2-D2.
I was referencing the screen used prop. R2 is on that.👌😊
Looks cool 🖌
Nice work bro.. Luke Skywalker would be proud of you.. may The Force be with you! 👍🇳🇿
Thanks my friend! MTFBWY too!🍻😊
great!
Thank you!

I've built this model so many times - but I'm getting such a peaceful feeling watching this man do it. So many good memories here!
Thanks for watching my friend.🙏😊

Thank you for watching my friend!🙏😊
They make pink or magenta LEDs? Those would work better in the engines than the red. Great job on the detailing.
Can you tell me brand and color that you used for yellow body accents. Your looks great!
It’s Tamiya Yelow ts 16. But I misted a coat of Insignia white over it.
Nice, I'm 3D printing one to gift my brother and got into this wormhole of x-wing painting accuracy, that bandai kit looks great
Yes, Bandai Star Wars kits are really good and accurate to the filming models. Thanks for watching.🙏😊
good job
Thanks my friend.🙏😊
Beautiful
Beautiful build. thanks for sharing it with us.
Thanks for watching. Glad you like it!
Amazing such careful detailing! Great job looks beautiful!
Thank you!🙏😊
Really good video. This guy's tone really sucks. At least it is in English. You might just wish to watch the good video and Mute the Audio.
😂😂😂😂😂
Looks great 👍
Are you going to re-paint the R2 unit to match the droid for Red 3?
I was referencing the filming miniature Red 3. It has a regular r2 in it.😊
AWESOME...MAY THE FORCE BE WITH YOU... {;-0-}
Where I can buy this model in scale 1/48?
Try searching online for Bandai or Revell 1/48 X-wing.
Great job! It's amazing. Thanks for sharing
Just a comment for the algorithm
I think you really nailed it, that is beautiful, thank you for this

hi, i came acrosss your miniature of Kaneda's favorite Neo-Tokyo bar, scratch-built . do you still make them and sell? im interested
Sorry, it’s just a hobby. Thanks for asking.
Great kit, nice job.
Thank you!

Very nice result Shawn! Entertaining video and an excellent learning opportunity for me. Thanks. 🙏
You’re most welcome Justin! 🍻
So good! I just wish they’d have included magenta LEDs for the engines instead of red.
Thanks! Yes, it would be more accurate to the colour graded look of the films if they were magenta.👍

@@ILSRWY4 and to the SE, since they also animated it magenta.
