That was useful thanks. What were you tweaking to calibrate the square wave? Your hand obscured what you were doing. Is there a trim on the probes? Wonder why this was not done at manufacturing stage? Cheers.
Any 10x probe needs to be adjusted so that it "matches" the scope input. Note that there are long discussions on matching input capacitance and input impedance which we don't need to get into. Suffice it to say that any 10x probe must be adjusted, (calibrated), to match the scope. If you look at where the probe fits onto the 'scope, you will notice a tiny hole. Inside that hole is a tiny adjustment. On the front of any 'scope worth picking up is a special metal tab or loop that has a carefully calibrated 1kHz square wave signal. You connect the probe to that tab and, as you saw, it was not "square". Using a small plastic tool, (usually included), you adjust the little adjustment inside the tiny hole until the display is absolutely square.
I buy this one but still dont understand why it is not detecting up to 20khz above, according to rating this oscilloscope can detect up to 20mhz

Its via the tab on the front, used to calibrate the probes. Thanks

how well spectrum analyzer work on this?
not had any problems with it
@@Sortitoutman thanks, I bought Rigol Ds1054z which had 24Mpts for FFT.
cool.. no clue wat one is but,, cool
lol
