I just replaced my belts yesterday on my TC-WE475, neither player would play, but for a couple of seconds, then began to "eat the tapes". The smaller belts (both) were melted to the spools, I found. I kept looking for the belts in the electronics, but they were nowhere to be found. So, while installing the new belts pieces of the old belts stuck to the new belts as they turned. I had to clean the melted belts off the newer belts, after I installed the replacement belts. It seems the old belts broke and were stuck under the large pully, as I tried to get it to work, the old belts got hot from the friction which melted the old belt to the pully. In the end, it turned out that replacing the belts resolved the problem.

I have just, finally, been reunited with my record and CD collection of over 10,000 albums and singles, and shipped them overseas after 17 years in storage. I couldn't wait to put the unit that stores them together again and get playing. My joy was short-lived when I discovered that my Sony 300 CD player, my single CD player/recorder and my amp had 'issues'. Thank you so much for this video I am gonna attempt to fix this one first before I move on to trying to figure out the amp etc. This video is so complete I'm feeling confident...Pray for me 🙂

Excellent video, thank you. I have a CDP-CX250 but I'm not sure what belts will work for it. I've looked but can only find CX-300+ compatible belts. Will the same ones work on the CX250?

Is the descale accessory required to descale? I tried running mine without it and the descale button would not change color :/ I'm now wondering if i need to purchase the accessory or if my machine is broken altogether

Thanks for all the info you shared. I changed the belts with some replacements I cut and superglued to get to fit 3 years ago. They are still operating the transport. I now have developed a playback problem. Display shows the number of the selected disk, disk loads, spins, but the display does not change to show the disk info. (time, decrementing). I cleaned the optical sensor...but no change. Any troubleshooting steps that may lead to getting info on this problem would be appreciated.

JAF patch you sew the velcro backing piece onto clothing or bags then stick the front patch onto it. Used in the forces for easy removal of I'd names.

Awesome video, just wondering if you experienced the 2x 1.5a fuses popping aswell? My machine runs fine until a disc is inserted. Any thoughts would be appreciated

My belts are steached out like yours in the video but they are not "dry". They have a bit of lubricant on them. Is this a problem for the new belts that I ordered? Should I clean it up off the pulleys? Thanks

I had this problem with a Magnifica start, it was only three weeks old, it just kept squirting out of the steam nozzle for at least three hours and I took it back to the shop for a refund.

I have seen / read / heard many disliking the TCM190 transport. Basically saying they're unreliable & problematic & the small gear breaks often. Have you, Sort It Out Man had any major issues with them? Greetings from Trinidad

What a terrific tutorial, but I have another question about this unit. Some of my CDRs aren’t being recognized. Should I clean the lens as you mention (I do have a lens cleaner disc though?) or is this an issue with the laser? The CDRs play fine in other machines.

Are you satisfied with it or would you buy another brand? I'm asking because I want to buy the same one or Vevor brand and I don't know which one to choose. The Sony Lissa line was cool, but rather expensive with the main feature being iLink or Firewire interface between the receiver, MD deck, and CD deck. I own these devices and had them hooked up to my Mac and was able to control them through Firewire after reading the 1394TA specifications and writing software which used the Apple Firewire SDK. Sadly Apple abandoned Firewire for AV transport. Pretty cool devices.

Problem i have is it will play most of my minidisvs except for around 10 of the discs ive cleaned the lazer and tried the 10 discs in my friends minidisc player and the 10 wont play in his minidisc player either so im wondering if the disc are bad oh as well some play the tracks but no audio and theres nothing wrong with the audio as i troed a disc that does work and it plays fine and audio is fine u got any ideas why 10 discs suddenly wont play im thinking the divs have gone bad for some reason.

Really enjoyed the video but the 13 minutes of black screen at the end just didn't cut the mustard 😔😔
