- What is up everyone, back with another outfit recreation video. Should we make this an official series on the channel? I have a lot of fun making these haha especially since pretty much every outfit I use is something I already have in my wardrobe..but yeah! Let me know. Today we dove head first into Peaky Blinders, one of my favorite shows and honestly a video I've wanted to make for a long time. Their outfits and suits are just perfect, and I think if I was born in that era I would have joined them hahahaha. What makes them stand out is how they take a suit and make it look effortless and like every day wear. Not something that you "dress up" in. Their newboy caps and pocket watches are kind of their trademark and just in general the style of suit they wear is based on their personality and rank in the gang. Overall, peaky blinders outfits are some of my favorites and hope you guys enjoyed!

Love your style bro! I too am a suit and tie guy and I'm retired! but I wear suits, wool overcoats, and hats daily. My Grandfather was a very sharp-dressed man in the 40s and 50's and taught me how to dress and be a gentleman. The Peaky look is something I recently discovered and I love it. Can't wait to put together and sport a new look. Thanks for the share.

Yooo! Peaky Blinders is one of my favorites too. That season 5 ending though... I got to come onto the set for 1 day and it was amazing... those people know what the f*** is up. Even some of the crew had peaky caps haha.

The peaky blinders show doesn't really have an accurate 1920s silhouette, because they have added so much padding to the shoulders. Also the actors walk in a funny way that makes their shoulders look very big. The 1920s had basically no padding or atleast very little, suits were usually made out of coarse wool fabrics, which is what the show got right. They also rarely used shirts with attached collars, using starched detachable collars. Only maybe work, or tennis shirts had the collar attached. waistcoats were always short and the trousers were high rise, and sort of slim cut. The hem being around 18-20 cm wide, although there are exeptions. jackets were usually 4 or 3 button, summer jackets or late 1920s jackets were usually 2 button. There was also an unusual 3 button, but without the bottom button & button hole, closing very high. Working class or casual hats were usually baker boy hats, possibly a bowler hat, upper class hats were ones like silk top hats, fedoras and also boaters, but boaters were also used by working class sometimes. Not to hate on you, i think the outfits work very well, its more the shows silhouette is more fitting with a 1930s cut, leading to some confusion about whats accurate. Although it eventually works in the shows favour, when the show gets to the 1930s.
PS: Vintagebursche has some great videos on this, i plagiarized most of these ideas from him.
They started to wear a more drape cut by the late 20s & transition over to the 1930s. Just look at the oxford bag trend.
What kind of boots are the ones from the outdoors man (John)? they look very good.
You should try the look of Shen Ting Bai( character name ) of the Chinese drama called Arsenal Military Academy. Bruh his outfits are Damn amazing and I am sure you would love them
Pretty darn close with using modern suit cuts. If you pay attention to details you can make them look fairly close to vintage 20s suits. I'd say look #4 is the closest, especially paired up with the lace up boots. Stacy Adams makes the best looking boot, in my opinion that's still available and in the vintage look. The vest with lapels is also classic. I'd add one more thing with the accessories and that would be a collar bar that sits under the knot attaching the two points. Also a club collard (rounded point) shirt would be a nice touch. Or even a collar less shirt as seen in the show. Otherwise, great looks!

You look amazing Jordan, I just wish that you had gone one step further and worn a tunic shirt with a stiff detachable collar, and back and front collar studs. The stiff collar shirt was worn by all of the actors in the show, and they are available to buy online. An elegant guy like you should also have at least one tunic shirt and stiff collars in his wardrobe.
