You have just described the entirety of the last 3 years of my life. It makes so much sense now. The doctor finds nothing wrong. I've been to the ER 4 times and always feel like an idiot. But not one doctor has told me it could be menopause or perimenopause causing it. They just give me anxiety meds and call it a day and make me feel stupid. Thank you so much for this. Your video has done more to calm my anxiety over these symptoms more than any doctor has!
Six months I bled heavily for before my GP fitted me with a (mirena) coil. Then I had another six months of agonising back pain and bleeding heavily. I have SVT so my heart quite literally beats to its own drum. Thank you for these informative videos. You have explained what I'm feeling, but unable to describe to my other half.
OK I’ve only come across your channel today but you’re my new best friend. 😂 I had no idea these were all connected to menopause! I’ve experienced all of them, and your reenactments are really very funny and bring welcomed laughter! Thanks so much!
Another symptom Ive noticed is my normal body odor/ sweat had changed. I never sweated much but I do more at night and it smells a lot different/ stronger like feet sweat does.
Has anyone else had a feeling like their insides are burning? It’s so flipping scare when I get them. Can start income of my body and spread or I’ve had it just in my wrist and hand ( how it started). Please tell me others have had this and if there is anything that helps it.
You have no idea how this video just allowed me to take a deep breath. I really thought the doctors we’re missing something. I thought I was going crazy🤦🏽♀️so grateful for this🙏🏽
Omg! I stumbled across these videos and I'm convinced it was a God send. She describe several/many of my menopausal symptoms. I've had every Cardio test and many ER visits and hearing this message let me relax my shoulders and breathe easier. Reading the comments let me know I am not alone. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!
This made me cry. I've had many of these symptoms and was diagnosed with anxiety. I've been convinced I was dying, and my doctor just couldn't figure it out. Thank you so much for what you do. ❤
@KariAnneWright Thank you. Same thing I told an EMT once. It might be anxiety, but I'm having the anxiety because I feel like I'm having a heart attack.
I swear on all that is holy..motherwort tincture helps directly with heart sensations. AND it strengthens the heart. It also helps with the specific anxiety and anger/rage you might get. I make my own tincture in the summer. It grows everywhere. It has become my best friend and is safe to use. I am a walking commercial for it😂
The heart palpitations while simultaneously experiencing the raging hot flashes has been the scariest thing I've been through yet. It's like someone hit the self destruct button.
I was convinced I had lung cancer, lymphoma, breast cancer, throat cancer, costochondritis, myalgia, lupus, gallbladder disease, anxiety, ocd, anxiety etc. Just unbelievable all these symptoms. Prior to perimenopause I was super healthy, energetic, positive mindset, adventurous, sexually active and so confident. I was completely unprepared and now that I have more info on menopause symptoms I don’t freak out. The joint pain in my hands, hips, knees just suck.
The joint pain!! I wish I knew my knees and back would always be hurting after I turned 50 . I would of started doing yoga at a younger age. It sucks I feel like I'm too young to feel this old. I live off Ibuprofen and aspercreme some weeks.
Yes same here and I bet you're like me. You've kept all of those thoughts and worries to yourself cuz I haven't shared any of this with my family so it's nice to have a place I can vent a little
Thank you for talking about menopausal symptoms. No one ever seems to talk about this stuff. None of my older relatives or friends ever mentioned any of their menopause experiences aside from maybe the hot flashes. It's very much appreciated.
A family member suggested putting an ice pack on my chest when I have anxiety. It totally worked. I have all of these symptoms and had them all years before I went through surgical menopause. My symptoms have abated somewhat but the heart palpitations, temp dysregulation, and anxiety have stuck around. The ice packs help with all of those, too.
Brain zaps. Electric shock sensations in the head that jolt out of nowhere for no apparent reason and only happen occasionally. Thought I was losing my mind until a friend of mine in perimenopause said she has them too.
Recently, I thought I was dying from the cortisol/adrenaline rise. I had never felt so poorly, even as a child with panic attacks. I appreciate you. The heart jabs, numbness, paresthesias, difficulty swallowing, blood pressure spikes, painful electrical pain and sensitivity in my foot while walking on the beach, internal buzzing are real. Oy…….I help women with flooding, with acupuncture. Nurturing the liver, pericardium channels, help. The ovaries go out with a ruckus, don’t they? I sometimes feel like my carpet is wet, under my feet. So weird. Does anyone else feel like the surface they walk on is wet?
I feel like the surface I walk on is not level…like there are bumps and lumps in my floor. Sometimes I feel like water is running down my legs…the first few times I thought I wet myself 😂
Yes , at 59 been thru alot past year ie my Mom passed amongst other stressful experiences...But even when I'm relaxed and all is okay I have constant anxiety all of sudden and been struggling for years on top of periodic heart palps ....What I find to be a God send is Chamomile tea ! I double bag it when too anxious, my home is never without Chamomile & Tumeric tea 🍵
All of the above and random tears and rage. My children make fun of me and all me a hypochondriac. Which breaks my heart. These symptoms happen all day long random and all at once.
I was mostly plant based for about 4 years. Just in the recent year I started having panic attacks. One thing I found that helped me, was adding omega-3s from fish oils. I was getting lots of plant omega-3s, but zero from fish oils. There is a difference. The omega-3s from fish oils contain DHA and EPA (I think that's correct) which help regulate the part of the brain where anxiety starts. It has helped me tremendously and I just wanted to pass along. I saw a registered dietitian and she confirmed what I was doing was very beneficial to alleviate the anxiety/panic attacks.
I have and still, experience 11 out of the 12. I have had every organ tested multiple times. I think I worry more about the weird sensations that I feel in my chest. It's not pain but its followed by the intrusive thoughts which are terrifying.
Anxiety has its nasty little claws in me lately. As does that horrible inability to swallow that feels like I have a lump in my throat. Without your videos I would be alone in this, so thank you Kari Anne.
The swallowing issue is upsetting. I have the weird lump sensation and trouble swallowing occasionally as well. You are never alone in this! So many of us are navigating menopause alongside you. Much love!❤️
I have the weird lump in the throat too. Damn, being a woman sucks. At least I avoided the child having part, but everything since puberty is a shit show of hormonal agony.
I am experiencing a lot of anxiety, dry mouth and a sensation as if something is stuck in my throat , went to ENT specialist, he checked and couldn’t find anything. Now after watching your video I m relieved… but when will all this get settled? Will I feel normal again?
I'd like to know if anyone has experienced aching legs? My leg started aching 6 months ago. I got to the point I could barely walk. They hurt so bad. And it wasn't just my legs. It was my arms too. Went to the doctor they said well all the Tests come back normal. The only one they possibly said could be effective. Was some kind of latent Lyme disease but they said it's not even a true positive... So I was left with. We don't know what's wrong with you. We're not sure why that your legs feel so bad that you feel so bad. Just go home and rest
Collagen drops substantially in menopause and that affects the entire body. Ligaments, joints, bones, tendons etc. The works! It can cause body wide pain.
I am grateful for you, and helping us woman to understand what we are going through. I am waiting to see a doctor as mine retired, but it is not easy. I have had these symptoms for about 9 years and just dealt with them and carried on. As us women do we put ourselves on the back burner and say we will deal with this later. Majority of my life has been very hard work from farming cattle and working with race horses. So i figured these symptoms were just from my body being beaten up, but now i know what is going on. Thank you Kari you are a absolute gem. :)
Kari, you mentioned in one of your videos about eating candy to distract the brain when having anxiety attacks. That has been a game changer for me. Whenever I need to go on the road or just calm down, I just pop in a sugar free candy and I'm good for a while.
Yes it works well for me. Something so simple. I use it a lot when I’m out shopping and the stores are full. I put a candy in my mouth or a halls and talk to my son. So happy it works for you too. Drinking a hot tea while I shop works too!
I get severe panic attacks now when I go to the doctor and it's so embarrassing. Now I just stay home and worry about what's wrong with me. I Google my symptoms constantly which makes it worse. 🙁 I stay home a lot. Im supposed to be going camping soon and I'm afraid to even go because of all of my weird symptoms. Thank you for these videos, they help me a lot. 💜
I’ve fallen into the Google trap a time or two myself mainly because the doctor is a source of anxiety because he is unhelpful and dismissive. I understand. Hugs!❤️
I keep smelling smoke as if someone is smoking a cigarette right next to me. I also smell this sweet, musky weird smell. Someone told me the sweet smell is mold, but I smell it everywhere. Someone also told me it is a symptom of menopause. Have you heard this?
Omg! Thank you for posting this. I have been smelling cigarette smoke on and off for a few years now. My husband would eventually start making fun of me but I swear I can smell it. And then it won't happen for months. I had no idea this could be perimenopause!
Internal vibration is the worst symptom, I have this a few times every week and it lasts for hours and hours, always in the lower part of my body, drives me crazy, and heart palpitations too and yes air hunger is a very strange feeling.
I have had every heart test out there... one of the most worrying symptoms for me... I'm 55 and my heart scored perfect...no plaque or anything else...like 100% perfectly clear...
THAT FEELING OF PARESTHESIA...AND THEN THE PALPITATIONS THE NEXT DAY.....COULDNT ASK FOR MORE,,,,,,,MAKES YOU WONDER HOW YOU STILL GET UP EVERY MORNING....THANK YOU KARI...ONCE AGAIN YOU HAVE SAVED US FROM THE FUNNY FARM
I'm so grateful to you for this and your other videos. The doctors over here ( 🇬🇧 ) are not interested in menopausal women at all. I haven't been back to my quack since she (30's) rolled her eyes at me and said " it's probably just menopause". No tests. Nothing. She didn't even check my blood pressure. My mental health has been batsh*t for almost a decade and it's thanks to you and other YTers I haven't completely lost it. Thankyou so much for the compassionate education. You could be a real life saver 😊
@@susaneslick2540 Air hunger when I get anxious and anxious because Airhunger, not sure which comes first. A whole host of symptoms. pinching under ribs, scheduled for Endoscopy this month. Cant come soon enough. I've had symptoms since January, 2 ER visits, the only thing they said was ulcer. I've heard GERD and now Gall bladder only functioning 12%, but no stones or sludge but found .6 CM polyp. Also have small kidney stone and liver cyst. Not sure if these things could cause the pinching in upper abdomen?
@tinakesack I had my gallbladder out In 2020,now they say gerd and hernia ( but shouldn't be causing my problems)..but I don't agree..ppis make me sicker...so I don't know anymore
I've become allergic to lots of things...makeup, beauty products etc and recently wearing tight clothing like jeggings...made my legs burn, go red and itch so bad...the burning is still there 5 days later...
This is why I love videos like this one so much❤ I am getting a lot of chest pains. Just recently I talked to my doctor about it and asked her when should I consider a chest pain an emergency? She said just listen to your body and don't doubt yourself. If you have to go to the emergency room a lot, don't feel like you're over reacting or feel like you are being a burden. Just go. I think about your videos a lot. They are very helpful. Still I struggle with stress and I learned that stress can raise your blood sugar. That alone can cause problems. How in the world can I go through all of this and not stress? Anyway your video gave me some comfort today. Just knowing that I am not alone and I'm not crazy. Thank you for making this video it was very helpful.
It’s almost impossible not to stress with so much chaos going on in our bodies. Your doctor sounds wonderful. My doc dismisses me and tells me there’s no need to go to the hospital again and this is my new doc.
@@KariAnneWright listen to my doctor. It is better safe than sorry. Because what may happen is that one day your chest pain might be serious, then your doctor will try and say to you O why didn't you go to the ER to get checked out when you started having chest pains? O_O I will tell you what my doctor told me. Don't feel ashamed or feel like a burden. If you feel like you need to go to the ER Don't hesitate. Just go. Even if it is just for a peace of mind go. Tell them I sent you 😂 ♥
I've recently, suddenly, started having chest pains too. Quite randomly and more like a strong cramping that comes on and lasts for a few seconds to a minute or two and quite as suddenly goes away. Went to the doctor and had all the checks done on my heart and he could find nothing wrong. Thought maybe it was a result of Covid, though I never tested positive for Covid. I'm learning to relax and not panic when it happens, as panicking seemed to make it worse, and it just goes away. Was so glad to hear her mention chest pains as a symptom of menopause. Who knew?
Oh my gosh I’m so glad I found this channel. You’re video is so helpful & comforting that others are experiencing the same things. I seriously was starting to think all these things were just in my mind. I honestly had no idea my doctor only talks about hot flashes & night sweats. Thank you 🙏
I just went through this! I thought i was having a heart attack! Took the ambulance to the E.R. they found nothing wrong with me. The chest pain was intense and horrible, followed by an anxiety attack. 😢thank you for sharing this video. After seeing this video, i discovered i had a lot of these symptoms. Oh my...😢
Thank you so much for your platform ❤️ I saw your other 12 common but strange menopause symptoms and glad to see Im not alone ...I drink Chamomile tea every night & sometimes double bag lol , I ALWAYS have stock of Chamomile, I also find Tumeric , Magnesium, and Zinc help with that bizzare Menopause flu that I didnt know what is was until now ...I take a 30 mg Zinc when first sign of feeling ill and then feel great next day. I also find drinking tonic water with the Zinc + C , D , B12 helps ...Daily packet of EmergenC for eletrolytes ....I been doing all of the above treating my menopause symptoms & didnt even know that is what Im treating. Again Thank you and I hope some of my suggestions can help someone. Bless you ❤
Sadly it all resonates but so glad I am not alone thank you for sharing this It's debilitating at times ouffff they should prepare us for this They blame all on Anxiety ...how can anyone not be anxious when all this is happening and not understanding and DR'S BRUSH YOU/IT OFF MAKE YOU FEEL LIKE AN ALIEN
Something I have discovered, if you have shooting pains in your urethra, or pain/ulcers around your labia, or frequent urination with an urgency to go or inability to hold it, it could just be from oxalates. I had these issues and went to my GYN, she tested for herpes and wanted to do a uterine biopsy, also wanted to give me an IUD, I said no thanks! I read about oxalates causing problems for some people, especially people with gut health issues, so I cut back in high oxalate foods like tea, spinach, almonds. The problems went away! Now, whenever I eat higher oxalate foods, I will notice the issue start up again. Just something else to consider.
I have the dizziness so often at work. I thought I was going crazy! The jabs under breast are no joke, and the air hunger is awful! I've been checked out 3 to 4x for this and they say I'm fine. Its nice to know there is a name for it. Thank you for this video!
@@tia7765 I am taking Turmeric supplement for hormone problem including dizziness, joint pain, hot flashes, migraine and night sweats. I have improved but still the symptoms are troubling me.
Thank you Kari Anne, these symptoms are all familiar, some more than others. At 62 I have recently experienced gall bladder pain which is really scary if you’re having an ‘attack’. I’ve had it twice and thought it was a heart attack. Food tolerances have changed drastically. So the things one could tolerate without thought are now absolute no go areas. Thyroid problems too mean drastic hair loss. Also muscle and joint pain is something shocking which has to be dealt with and bursitis and frozen shoulders are hideous, all shocks due to the menopause. I’ve been prescribed statins for v high cholesterol, but I know they cause muscle and joint pain so I’m reluctant to start taking them… I’m trying to control the cholesterol with diet and exercise, but you have to do it GENTLY and eat modestly and healthily, ie low carb and lots of fresh fruit and veg. Full time job!!!!
Binaural beats are sounds that affect brainwaves, and there are different ones for anxiety, vertigo, headaches, etc. they are found on YT and have helped me. Also a white noise machine and a nightlight at night are comforting. I had a vertigo episode and as I was recovering I would get scared at night like a kid!😂 these things help me feel comfortable and I cannot recommend them enough. Binaural beats also help with neuroplasticity.
Thanks for your videos. I know I'm not crazy. I have all the symptoms you mentioned and then some. Dose anyone experiencing a high pitch sizzling or buzzin? Please let me know.
I'm so grateful that I found you. Perimenopause has caused me many worries. I was diagnosed with a form of breast cancer that's basically fed by estrogen and its terrifying not being able to take anything, hrt etc..., to bring comfort during this chapterbin my life. Listening to all of the info you provide helps to relieve many of the anxieties that come with stage in life.
I have experienced the majority of these symptoms and have had many tests done and trips to the ER only for doctors to say nothing is wrong, the biggest is blood pressure spikes for no apparent reason and you never know when these things will happen, it does disrupt daily life and can be very scary
My mother tells me her mother had this and she had a test for it. She had to drink coloured liquid while she saw it go down her throat in a screen to prove there was no blockage. She suffered from anxiety.
The hot flashes have made me believe in spontaneous combustion. I too have started having panic attacks at 52. Does anybody suffer from parasthesia in their legs??? It feels like millions of shards of glass and pulling sheets or pants over them is agony! Ive had so many tests done and nobody knows what it is. I think I actually have ALL of those symptoms😑
I've had all of these and a few others as well. Olfactory hallucinations was one of my first symptoms. I was nearly to full menopause before I saw a similar video and finally realized what was going on. Half a dozen doctors over the past 3 years sure didn't know!
I've been getting these for the last 3 years worsened by Covid. I can smell things that are not there like gas, cigarette smoke, chemicals, sometimes nice smells that don't exist. My nose has strange not nice sensations at night which I can't really describe and then they all disappear for a couple of weeks only to return. I am 7 years post Menopause!!!
hi Kari and fellow ladies, yes the heart palpitations and high blood pressure were really intense and scary for me. doc was like, “do u ever do cardio?”. UM, i was a long distance runner before starting the peri-menopause transition. all my symptoms forced me to stop running, now i power walk a couple miles a day. i found an excellent supplement, its called “Striction BP”, it has brought my BP down by about 40 counts, consistently. i’ve been taking it about one year now. its the reason i dont have to be on prescription meds for BP now. i just wasnt willing to be dependent on western meds unless completely necessary. we all have our own unique journey with menopause and it is no joke. wishing you all many blessings and healing on your individual journeys. thanks again Kari ✨💙✨
My menopause has been 100% natural with no treatments and i have experienced a lot of what you mention. I have never had one hot flash but all the vibrating and fluttering. Panic attacks fueled by anxiety over the symptoms of menopause. No one mentions all these could be menopause related but i have often wondered if they are. One thing i like is not getting wiped out anymore. That used to happen from time to time. I would nap in the late afternoon and wake up totally out of it sort of in a half asleep half awake state. Thar never happens now.
I have all of these symptoms. And I get medical gaslighting from doctors “there’s nothing wrong with you! It’s just anxiety! You need anti-depressants” I don’t know why, even in 2023, doctors still don’t acknowledge perimenopause/menopause symptoms, or even try to investigate that as the root cause. All they want to do is give you habit forming medication so you’ll stop coming to see them so much. I’m so thankful for videos like these! These have helped me so much, and have me doing a deep dive into my own research of menopause. My anxiety is SO much better now!
I’m gaslit every time I go to the doctor and he acts like my visit is unnecessary. My last visit he told me it was not necessary to return to the er again. In other words I won’t help you and don’t go to the hospital and waste their time.😡 This is the new doc they gave me after mine retired.😮💨 It really ramps up anxiety when you have no one to go to for help. Sad the way most women are treated in the health care system. I’m happy to hear that my videos are helpful.
@@angelicaflores505 the biggest thing for me was finally realizing that everything that was happening to me physically was menopause symptoms…and not that I was dying! I also started seeing a therapist, which also helped! Plus, I started taking a good quality magnesium glycinate daily. I also eat very healthily, which I think can help as well. Self care is important too. Treat yourself to a massage! Do a weekend getaway ,if you can, to de-stress. Chamomile tea at bedtime, and a hot bath! Lastly, remember, you’re not alone! It’s very normal what we’re going through. Talk to girlfriends about it, or join a support group. Sharing with others I found very therapeutic! You will get through it! Hope this helps!
@@angelicaflores505 I take magnesium glycinate. Solaray is the name brand I take. I’ve also heard great things about Naturebell. Both seem to be very good without any unnecessary “filler” ingredients. I believe the daily dose is 4 a day (2 in morning, 2 at night). It seems like a lot, but it’s not. Easy on the stomach and no side effects. I also take a good quality vitamin d3, which is very important, especially women at this stage of life. *double check with your doctor first to make sure there’s no interactions with any medications you may be taking* 😊
Thank you! I am so glad I found you. I have a question, anyone experience, pain in your breast like a sore feeling or like you pulled a muscle. Kind of like your lymphnode needs to be drained, or soreness under arm pit?
I've been having the diziness....heart palpitations.....3 years now....do you have any suggestions also anxiety....also blurry vision among other symptoms....also ringing in the ears.
Thank you for all this information, I got all of those symptoms and at times thought I was dying. I reduced some caffeine intake and my heart palpitations seem to have lessen a bit!
Been having a lot of heart fluttering lately. I am highly anxious too. I figured it was the anxiety and thought I might be close to having a heart attack. Doesn’t help that I am really going through it at work. Thank you. ❤
I totally feel you. Sometimes I can not stand the fluttering and in my case the skipping heart beats. I try to describe to people what I feel but for some reason they just look at me like I am nuts!! I have had anxiety to the point where I just want to burst!! The heart part feels like there is a slow beat followed by a fast one or a thud. Finding this channel is such a blessing. WE ARE NOT ALONE!!! Thank you Kari and Thank God for putting you in my life.
@@katalinklotz1491 Heavy bleeding does sometimes happen in peri. Keeping up with hydration and iron rich foods are important to avoid low iron or dizziness. Doctors usually use hormones or medical procedures to control bleeding but often if it’s perimenopause induced and there are no fibroids it will stop. I once bled for a month in peri.
I wish I had seen your videos 10 years ago. Boy did I struggle with everything you said and was scared to death. I thought for sure I was dying. I struggled alone for at least 10 years and went into menopause only at 58 years old. It’s been two years and things are much better (still have symptoms but much less)but those ten years were the worst years of my life. I didn’t have a video like yours to explain what was happening and of course my doctor didn’t know anything about it.
Covid threw me into complete menopause and ever since I get high spiked palpitations (especially with caffeine or dehydration after 7pm) Resting heart rate of 68 and just after 2hrs of sleep my heart will jump to 171 and feel like I’m running a marathon. Takes several hours to calm down. Those surge spikes are crazy too. Feel like I just touched a hot fence. And mood swings 😮💨 🤷🏻♀️
I thought I was the only one! I've started experiencing this at the time of covid, I was 44 at the time and now I'm without a period for almost 6 months. Started having hot flashes and all of the menopause symptoms during covid. Did covid Kickstart this for us?
@@iammadeinthecreatorsimage.8295 most definitely did for me. I was still in perimenopause and after the 10 days of having Covid, I went into not having any kind of period and most all menopause symptoms started within a month afterwards. Doctor didn’t believe me nor could figure what I was talking about with my heart since all EKG’s came back normal 🤷🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️.
Yep...deleted my TRUTH telling sharing and caring 4 times now...which only affirms how profound my share was, and how evil the you tube Co m m u n I s t s censors are!👺
Back around April I began having what felt like baby movement in one very small spot to the right side of my belly. It kept going every day several times . This lasted till around July. Now I have a buzzing in my left breast and now know I'm not crazy. Yesterday it was shall we say pretty violent. Made me jump outta my skin for a second! Didn't expect all this to be going on at age 69. I WANT OFF THIS DANG ROLLER COASTER!🥴
Your videos are SO VERY IMPORTANT!!! I learned by personal experience that too much vitamin B can trigger panic attacks. I started taking them and I was having day and night panic attacks. I was living on benedryl to calm down for a week. My sister mentioned in passing that too much or too little Vitamin B can trigger them. BOOOM! I actually thought I was going to end up in the state hospital...I thought I was going to lose my mind. There is nothing closer to hell that a panic attack. So I stopped the vitamin B and my brain calmed down but it took 2 weeks to feel normal again. Terrible terrible experience. I'm 59 so the menopause info is a relief when it came to the heart flutter. This is disturbing to have happen.
A symptom that always sends me to the ER, or my GP is puking every 2 to 3 weeks! Nobody has ever found a cause, and this seems to be getting worse. I even eat healthy, too. I find I'm hyper sensitive to everything I eat. I miss eating whatever, whenever, and not suffering the consequences of what and when I eat. These days, if I'm not careful with what and when I eat, I wind up in the ER. Sorry to sound vague, but my puking days have gone on FAR too long!🙄
@@CNu1975 I've been noticing that I've been getting them at night and they keep me up. I haven't been getting much sleep. I've also been getting such bad headaches😭 they worsen during my ovulation time and my pms time
I had air hunger 7 months straight finally went away. Also now very sensitive to antibiotics. On a bright note 90 % of what you mention seems to resolve Eventually!! I so much appreciate you easing our fears!!
I thought I was the only one sensitive to antibiotics..I can't manage them at all..start n have to abandon them ..my stomach n nervous systems kills me
It does resolve but it may come back, it's kind of like a rollercoaster ride, when your hormones want to spike up again, they do, and they just don't care where we're at, it's like a wrecking ball. I'm currently 57 and I have been up and down with this since my mid forties. I'm currently on vacation days because my symptoms are so bad, I may need to stop working and may not make it to retirement.
Breast pain, hotflashes, joint pain, headaches, mood swings, constipation and stomach bloating, abdominal pain, chest pain etc.....this is too much for me am suffering. What can I do?
Any one else suffering with extreme fatigue? Doctors put me on hrt now I’m on week 4 and although some symptom have eased fatigue and muscle aches are right up there.. honestly I can barely manage a full day at work and I am wiped out all the time midnight comes and I’m exhausted but body takes hours to sleep.. even if I get to bed early I seem to wake up but I’m exhausted, I can’t function yet somehow I’m awake at night… help
I suffer from extreme fatigue, it could be a number of things, you may ask your Dr to check your parathyroid and calcium levels, and thyroid ( they are not the same)
I'm 48 and had my uterus removed when I was 38 due to cancer. But she left my ovaries to help me with hormones as ovaries STILL produce some hormones even without our uterus and tubes. So, I skated through the recovery with a breeze, minus pain. But NOW, I am feeling so many symptoms of menopause that I'm positive my ovaries are no longer producing what they did. Heart palpitations have been crazy, the last couple years. I DO have mitral valve prolapse but this is way different than the usual flutters. I also have the cold and hot flashes, and anxiety attacks that are caused by NOTHING. I'm not remotely stressed, and suddenly I'm panicking and don't know why. The other weird one is the feeling like I'm getting stung in my back on the right side. It's a harsh, SHARP pain and lasts only a minute (if that) but it is so sharp and severe, it scares me every time it happens. Feels like a rubber band snapped under my skin. Shocking. The weight gain is the one that pisses me off. I don't eat high fat foods or high calories, and eat small portions and still gain weight. That's not fair! 😅 😂 I think we women should strike that one.
🥺The weight gain is frustrating and angers me as well. I was stuck at the same weight for years and have finally started losing a little but the weight is taking FOREVER to shed. Like 6 pounds lost in 2 months and now is stuck again.🤦♀️ ARG! It is going down though which is progress.
I told my kids what I was going through and they said I used menopause as an excuse for poor behavior. Then they cancelled me out of their life. It’s been very hard.
OMG! I’m so sorry! How painful for you! Just because people can’t understand something doesn’t give them the right to dismiss it or your struggles and feelings. Sending love!
Would love a support group that does not use facebook. Onr of my symptoms is a strange fear of Zuck erburg! LOL being stupid...but serioulsy I dont like fb and only go once in a blue moon to pick up some family pictures, and wouldnt do that if my family would post elsewhere 😮
Thank you! This video is me. Not one Doctor said anything about menopause. I’ve been to several. Finally I have answers. I have a light at the end of my tunnel ❤
So, I think I’ve been in peri for years after watching this. I thought I was crazy for having these symptoms without a cause. I’m only 43, but I’m definitely towards the end of peri.
Panic attacks are the worst! I had one so bad that I was researching female heart attack. I was convinced I needed to go to the ER, but it was just a panic attack.
This happens to me frequently too now. Sometimes it's worse around ovulation and sometimes it's random in cycle. I'm 43, now have an IUD for flooding which completely fixed that symptom, but the random anxiety/panic seems to be triggered by mass fluctuations I'm hormones. It's awful. ❤
Thank you so much for the informative videos. One symptom that I particularly hate is the sensitivity to noise that triggers vibrations. I feel like an earth tremor is imminent and my anxiety gets really bad. Having you explain the results of hormonal changes was very reassuring ❤
I’m 5’3 and 47 years old. I got Paresthesia and thought I was dying. Neurologist said it was stress. I knew I was in menopause so I mentioned it and she said no. But I’ve had Two other doctors say it very well can be. Since all testing was normal, I’m glad I saw your video. It sounds like it’s definitely menopause. What a relief. It’s the only explanation I find.
One I'm not sure I heard, was sudden weight gain. I went from no periods to super heavy flow that lasted a month. It also came with a weight gain of 15-20 pounds in less than 3 days 😢. And it took me months to lose it.
Strange but for me sudden weight LOSS has been my issue. Which tbh is just as heartbreaking un its own way as weight gain. I have such wrinkly craggy skin now which makes me look tons older. Would rather have the weight tbh.
Heavy bleeding for more than a month should mandate a Drs visit. I just went three months before going to the ER. My hemoglobin was 5.2. I could have had a cardiac arrest. I was given 2 units of blood. And the gynecologist started me on hrt to stop the bleeding. I go next week for a biopsy. Peri menopause is insane. I’ve alway been on the go. This one feels like being in quicksand. My heart goes out to all the women out there silently suffering.
Does anyone here experienced tension headache.. 😢
Yesss, I experience them generally every couple of weeks. Sorry you are going thru this as well.
Yes
I do!!
yes i do my head feel like something pounding in my head a tension headache
Yes! Ever since I started with all of this! I feel like they've almost been chronic💔😭 I'm wondering if it has to do with anxiety too
You have just described the entirety of the last 3 years of my life.
My last 3 years as well. Exactly the same experience!
It’s so sad that doctors not even women doctors know absolutely nothing about peri or menopause shameful
Or worse they run a blood test and tell you You are completely normal. Everything's fine. And yet there you are feeling horrible....
Same here the last three years.
Same. Its so frustrating. Kari helps so much. What a gem we have found in her. ❤
Dizziness is awful, my inner ears are affected I'm sure. Fearful of driving and walking round the shops.

I’m 46 and every single symptom you listed 😢I am experiencing daily
😔❤️
Ps every time you have a video the day I'm having the issue thank you
OK I’ve only come across your channel today but you’re my new best friend. 😂 I had no idea these were all connected to menopause! I’ve experienced all of them, and your reenactments are really very funny and bring welcomed laughter! Thanks so much!
🥰❤️
Another symptom Ive noticed is my normal body odor/ sweat had changed. I never sweated much but I do more at night and it smells a lot different/ stronger like feet sweat does.
Yes the heart flutters startled me. Now i'm relaxed bc i know its the change. Its no fun going through this.
Heart flutters should always be checked out initially to rule out other things but they are frequently menopause related.
@@KariAnneWright yes i've been checked. Its hard bc u think like you did, that you're getting unwell when its the menopause all along!

Menopause sucks 😢
Omg! I stumbled across these videos and I'm convinced it was a God send. She describe several/many of my menopausal symptoms. I've had every Cardio test and many ER visits and hearing this message let me relax my shoulders and breathe easier. Reading the comments let me know I am not alone. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!
❤️❤️
Isn’t it ironic that no doctor will suggest peri or menopause
This made me cry. I've had many of these symptoms and was diagnosed with anxiety. I've been convinced I was dying, and my doctor just couldn't figure it out. Thank you so much for what you do. ❤
Many of us get the anxiety diagnosis. How can you not be anxious with all of this chaos going on. Sending love!❤️
I was told anxiety also
@KariAnneWright Thank you.
I am a walking commercial for it😂
Isnt it shameful that doctors in this day and age including women doctors don’t have a clue
The heart palpitations while simultaneously experiencing the raging hot flashes has been the scariest thing I've been through yet. It's like someone hit the self destruct button.
Same here - I thought I was having a heart attack... stay strong everyone!
God bless u ❤
Totally understand
I try to breathe 🧘
In and out slowly. It helps
YES
Same here, some days the heart palpitations are worse than others, especially hearing the pounding in your ears 😢
You've kept all of those thoughts and worries to yourself cuz I haven't shared any of this with my family so it's nice to have a place I can vent a little
Same!!!
Omg same!
Me too! I mean something really terrible. The worst imo is feeling going crazy/ panic
Thank you for talking about menopausal symptoms. No one ever seems to talk about this stuff. None of my older relatives or friends ever mentioned any of their menopause experiences aside from maybe the hot flashes. It's very much appreciated.
I think ours is the first generation to be really open about "The Change", starting with not calling it that. This channel is the resource I needed.
I've ringing in my ear and blurry vision it's driving me crazy
I’ve always had perfect vision but this week it’s been so blurry I am always squinting.
Blurry vision is a monster especially when my eye doctor sees nothing wrong but normal aging eyes. I’m ok with that but it’s confusing at times.
I have 8 ice packs in the freezer that I rotate for anxiety and hot flashes 😂.
Will def have to try!!!
At times I think am dieing
Thanks for the advice. I will give it a try.
Ice packs definitely help hot flashes. I place it in the center of my chest.
Peri-menopause symptoms are horrible and still some women go to work and deal with it. I feel so sorry for them
Brain zaps. Electric shock sensations in the head that jolt out of nowhere for no apparent reason and only happen occasionally. Thought I was losing my mind until a friend of mine in perimenopause said she has them too.
My main issue anxiety n heart palps
9 out of 12 symptoms I’ve experienced for several years. Wish I had this information 20 years ago.
😢
Yes! Cold wet surfaces where there are none? So random!
I feel like the surface I walk on is not level…like there are bumps and lumps in my floor. Sometimes I feel like water is running down my legs…the first few times I thought I wet myself 😂
Not only do I notice anxiety but also increased anger and agitation...anyone else?
Yes!!! I have zero patience and just lose my temper easily! Very unlike me.😢
Yes , at 59 been thru alot past year ie my Mom passed amongst other stressful experiences...But even when I'm relaxed and all is okay I have constant anxiety all of sudden and been struggling for years on top of periodic heart palps ....What I find to be a God send is Chamomile tea ! I double bag it when too anxious, my home is never without Chamomile & Tumeric tea 🍵
Rage every single day!
Same here,grappling with anger issues.
Please God help me!
Kari, thank you so much for helping by talking about this little understood/misunderstood part of women's lives. Nice to know I'm not alone!❤
I have and still, experience 11 out of the 12. I have had every organ tested multiple times. I think I worry more about the weird sensations that I feel in my chest. It's not pain but its followed by the intrusive thoughts which are terrifying.
Intrusive thoughts can be disruptive and disturbing. Sending love!❤️
Yes exactly how I feel. Very hard to explain but feels very depressed after that
Anxiety has its nasty little claws in me lately.
Same here😢
I have the weird lump in the throat too. Damn, being a woman sucks. At least I avoided the child having part, but everything since puberty is a shit show of hormonal agony.
Me too with the swallowing thing! Who’d a thunk it!
@@KariAnneWright thanks, Kari Anne... I really do hope that it is just the menopause. It's really unnerving
I hope your new doctor is helpful and understanding.
Hugs!❤️
@@KariAnneWright Thank you 🤗 It would be so wonderful if doctors would take us seriously and also explain that these things can happen in menopause.
The same things are happening to me. I haven't been able to drive or go to the gym because of how debilitating panic attacks symptoms are😥
Googling is the worst the result is always negative I just stopped. Wish you all good health.
@@angelicaflores505 Once it happens, the fear of it happening again makes it so difficult to go anywhere. I pray we all get through this very soon. 🙏🏼
I keep smelling smoke as if someone is smoking a cigarette right next to me. I also smell this sweet, musky weird smell. Someone told me the sweet smell is mold, but I smell it everywhere. Someone also told me it is a symptom of menopause. Have you heard this?
Yes I’ve done videos on phantom senses.
Omg! Thank you for posting this. I have been smelling cigarette smoke on and off for a few years now. My husband would eventually start making fun of me but I swear I can smell it. And then it won't happen for months. I had no idea this could be perimenopause!
Me too had it for 3 years now thought it was covid but it has not stopped... much worse at night...
Tytyty. I'm dealing with too many of these... perimenopause is a real bitch!😅
Internal vibration is the worst symptom, I have this a few times every week and it lasts for hours and hours, always in the lower part of my body, drives me crazy, and heart palpitations too and yes air hunger is a very strange feeling.
I wake up shaking in the middle of the night and really hot 😢

I've recently, suddenly, started having chest pains too. Quite randomly and more like a strong cramping that comes on and lasts for a few seconds to a minute or two and quite as suddenly goes away. Went to the doctor and had all the checks done on my heart and he could find nothing wrong. Thought maybe it was a result of Covid, though I never tested positive for Covid. I'm learning to relax and not panic when it happens, as panicking seemed to make it worse, and it just goes away. Was so glad to hear her mention chest pains as a symptom of menopause. Who knew?

@tia7765 All I can do is sit down, close my eyes until it passes. That's the only thing that seems to work.
Have you ever experienced like your ears are muffled and it's like someone is actually talking to you and you can barely hear what they're saying.
Binaural beats are awesome. The I even use them for my animals anxiety.
Yes the symptoms are very disruptive and scary.
Thank you for this video. I thought I was dying. Got all the tests. Not once was menopause mentioned as a possible reason.
I have that lump in my throat too. I had no idea it could be related to menopause. Thank you for this information and your kind and gentle advice.
It's Scary. Can't even swallow tablets. I crush them😢
My mother tells me her mother had this and she had a test for it. She had to drink coloured liquid while she saw it go down her throat in a screen to prove there was no blockage. She suffered from anxiety.
Do u have trouble swallowing?
So glad i subscribed. I have all of this . I feel completely nuts ... so nuts i thought i was having early onset dementia .
Thank you ❤
Your videos are amaizing and they are helping me to understand this phase of our lifes. Thank you. 😊
Olfactory hallucinations here really bad!
I try to avoid meds as well. Hugs!❤️
You need anti-depressants”
I don’t know why, even in 2023, doctors still don’t acknowledge perimenopause/menopause symptoms, or even try to investigate that as the root cause.
Hello😊 how did you improve your anxiety?
@@samantha9915 thank you so much! I appreciate your feedback! What kind of magnesium do you take?
@@angelicaflores505 I take magnesium glycinate. Solaray is the name brand I take. I’ve also heard great things about Naturebell. I’m experiencing more internal vibrations in my lower back legs and thighs.
Me too🌈I also have muscle spasms..
Thank you for all this information, I got all of those symptoms and at times thought I was dying. I reduced some caffeine intake and my heart palpitations seem to have lessen a bit!
Same here. Dizziness is very debilitating.
❤
Perimenopause makes me feel, I have a deadly disease
Yes it can be a scary transition for sure. Wishing you well.❤️
@@KariAnneWright thank you. I suffer from heavy bleeding, don't you know something, what might help? Something natural?
I’ve wondered this myself. I had some symptoms before Covid but it seem to come on with vengeance after I got Covid. I’m 47.
Yep...deleted my TRUTH telling sharing and caring 4 times now...which only affirms how profound my share was, and how evil the you tube Co m m u n I s t s censors are!👺
This has happened to me too! Covid kickstarted a range of menopausal symptoms thought they would disappear but no. 18 months later.
Thank you kari for helping me to realise a lot of the probs are related to menopause.❤.
I just sent this to my boyfriend. I want him to know some of the symptoms that I’m going through so he can have a better understanding.
Kari I was in the market today pushing my shopping cart I experienced electric shock sensation it was so unnerving!
I have started menopause cream, and noticed less burning in feet & hands... Thank You, for these videos makes so much sense now.
Sorry to sound vague, but my puking days have gone on FAR too long!🙄
Feeling like you'll never be warm enough no matter how many blankets you pike on !
This!!!!! I'm always freaking cold. Even when I exercise I get cold sweats.
Neause heart palpitations sore neck arms and legs everything 😂😂
My heart palpitations always pair up with dizziness and sometimes air hunger. Or form a super fun trifecta.
Same!😭
Same
They make me jump and it scares whoever is in the room 😂
@@CNu1975 I've been noticing that I've been getting them at night and they keep me up. I haven't been getting much sleep. I've also been getting such bad headaches😭 they worsen during my ovulation time and my pms time
@@angelicaflores505 ovulation time is the worst for them and dizziness!
I have been getting chronic hormonal headaches/ migraines and anxiety makes it worse😢
@@lovelocked5385 Thank you so much!
@@lovelocked5385 is there a specific brand that you recommend?
I had air hunger 7 months straight finally went away. Also now very sensitive to antibiotics. On a bright note 90 % of what you mention seems to resolve Eventually!! I so much appreciate you easing our fears!!
Here’s hoping everyone’s symptoms resolve completely!
I’m sorry you’re struggling. It can be overwhelming. Wishing you well.
I suffer from extreme fatigue, it could be a number of things, you may ask your Dr to check your parathyroid and calcium levels, and thyroid ( they are not the same)
@@rebeccaw1772 Thankyou.. I will try that
Hope this helps! ua-cam.com/video/iuGCRxJ1jgc/v-deo.html
I feel so much better after watching this video...I'm not crazy:) Thank you!
ladies give magnesium tablets a go ive been on it for a month i feel normal again even hubby said i dont seem so cranky
IM 47 AND ITS HAPPENING NOW. ITCHY, EMOTIONAL, UP LATE, SMALL HEADACHES.. CRYING 4 NO REASON..
Stay strong. Hopefully they will one day realize how they have hurt you so much because they don’t understand menopause symptoms. God bless ❤
@@chrisk4053 Thank you. Hopefully one day.
I feel for you
Would love a support group that does not use facebook.
❤️
So, I think I’ve been in peri for years after watching this. I thought I was crazy for having these symptoms without a cause. I’m only 43, but I’m definitely towards the end of peri.
I was scared i had some kind of cancer like lung cancer this video was very helpful thank you
Panic attacks are the worst! I had one so bad that I was researching female heart attack. I was convinced I needed to go to the ER, but it was just a panic attack.
They are terrifying. Hugs!❤️
Same here I’m 47 years old and have paresthesia frequently 😢
Thank you. I’m getting all of these and paraesthia is also happening. Pins and needles and random nerve pain and muscles twitching.
🥺😔
