35 yrs ago i went on holiday with my then GF to the south of France with my 2CV6 Special, i can't recall it being this noisy. It did 120km/u on the speedo fairly easy. The 2CV started my love for convertibles; driving through Cannes between the Rollses and Ferrari's with the roof rolled open (literally) was great fun.
Oh my God never use choke when the engine is hot!I owned 2 Citroen 2CV6 they can manage 115 120 for a short period on highway but better stay at 100 KMH .They need good plugs but they aren't fussy about oil ,good ignition points and carburation of course
Or an electronic ignition conversion - I've found that good points and condenser are difficult to find these days, everything is cheaply made crap that doesn't last.
Starting a warm 602cc 2CV is done by holding the gas pedal 1cm down and keep it there until it fires properly. Gear changes could and should be performed with one finger or one finger and a thumb, including first gear. Revving is not a big problem as the body will give sufficient drag to give a bit of 'work' - it is after all a HEMI on a Panhard base, famous for their high revving high performance 2cyl air cooled engines. I usually gave mine a bit of a breather now and then, revs not to low to cool it. Engine stalling could be overheating due to insufficient cooling when punished. Maybe it's running lean witch heats up the top of the pistons that tends to partially sieze. With a correctly adjusted carburettor (a bit on the rich side) and well timed ignition, you can run the 602 on full throttle for hours without damaging anything. Before the final breakdown the engine sounds like it is tightening up which is harmful... If it's running lean it will heat up the exhaust manifold until it's glowing which in turn heats up the intake and that will add to the problem by expanding the fuel/air mixture and make it even more lean. The sparkplugs will start to deteriorate and misfire as a result. These are my experiences after more than two decades driving my 2CV as my daily driver including around Europe fully loaded. I was my own technician ever since I built my first 1959, 12,5 SAE hp from spare parts in 1973 until I bought a brand new 2CV6 1979 which I kept until 1995. Miss them both...
An owner showed me a trick on these a long time ago, pump the gas pedal every 2 to 4 seconds. The acceleration pump allows more petrol, raising the speed to a whopping 110. You can always put a BMW 8 valve boxer in it. Makes it a real nice sleeper

Vapour bubbles in the carburettor. Happens when you drive near top speed for longer periods, especially when it's already hot outside. Nagging but nothing dangerous. Just let it cool down for a few minutes and you' ll be all right.
The owner said it is a diva that has not been ridden for a long time. Running a bit of choke to raise the rpm helped to keep it running. I am not sure what the real issue is; it started when the car was on temperature under full load. After the fullspeed run it started shaking again, then ran again, after a short cooloff.
