Many thanks for the information; enjoyed it. Just one small correction though ,for the sake of other viewers: darker skinned persons have more melanin, not melatonin as stated...melatonin is a hormone produced by the brain, while melanin is the pigment in the skin.
I thought I was going crazy when I heard her say that, thank you for commenting, glad I wasn’t the only one who caught that!
And in relation to melanin I'd say, the more exposed someone's to sunlight, the darker they become.
Thanks for the science. 🙏🏽
Hello I have i question, is the UV index higher for all the places closer to the equator or only some? because there are places closer to the equator and their UV index is not higher than compared to the UV index of the place far from the equator is that because the website im using to look up the UV index faulty/wrong or is it because thats just true? because there are places far from equator which have higher UV index than the places nearer to the equator.
Use sunscreen brand Sunbrella is very high protection.
I am from Bangladesh ❤
Sunlight also has an effect on our mood. But does UV play a role in that?
Which is the time to get vit-D and avoid uv exposure?
Early morning sun
It depends on where on the globe you live and the season. For example in central Europe, sunlight is only sufficient in the summer. You should supplement Vitamin D in the other seasons if you live away from the equator.
I'm from India
So wearing long sleeve shirt will help you from getting a tan?
