Was this 'valley' called a Glen at one time?
Not to my knowledge, but there is a Glen "area" in Darvel (Glen Crescent, Glenbrig etc). I've also heard folk talk about "The Battle Of The Glenes" which may hve been a Coel Hen battle in the area. I've never researched it though.
