Sonic 3 complete is the only way I'll play S3&K. Even though the original version on mega collection is nostalgic, THIS version is so much better.

I've actually just today found out about Sonic 3 A.I.R.
You don't have to of course, but I'm thinking about making a sort of series on my channel like this as well, where I play through sonic 1, 2, and 3, and then Mania.
But I'd be using the unofficial remasters of each game.

My favorite Sonic the Hedgehog 3& Knuckles stage would be Ice Cap Zone because of the music, the cold atmosphere, beginning of Act 1 with the snowboarding segment and the overall feeling with the ice, snow and peaceful atmospheric music.
Because the music was made by Michael Jackson.

Ice cap and angel island were the only zones that weren't composed by MJ but the rest were (the rest as in the sonic 3 levels not sonic and Knuckles)

Thanks for the awesome memories cobi really, you are what got me into sonic at age 4 i remember when i got the classic collection for my ds then i discovered your old playthroughs of the genesis games then from there i watched almost every sonic game you had played up too sonic lost world because that was the newest game (Generations unleashed 4 ep 1 - 2 cd the rush games you get the idea) you where my childhood i watched mod mondays everyday fangame friday and the mario stuff too of course, you really helped me through some dark times my guy and i can't thank you enough, please continue to take care of yourself i would love a comeback just as much as anyone else but im happy with what you have made already, focus on yourself i believe in you because you will always rock the place!
Favorite stage on the Sonic 3 side is Hydrocity Zone because it's one of the few underwater levels in Sonic that isn't complete trash like Labyrinth Zone or completely optional like Aquatic Ruin & Hidden Palace Zone in the Sonic 2 remake.

Sonic 3 was probably the first game I ever knew about before release and was excited to play. I remember my dad had a friend in the army who played games and got Sonic 3 the day it was released, and he let me borrow it for a day. I remember thinking it was kinda short compared to 2, but then again I didn't know that it was literally only half a game!
My favorite zone in the Sonic 3 half is Hydrocity. Closely followed by launch base and then icecap

well, Knuckles has the master emerald, which has the power to control the chaos emeralds, so It isn't that surprising that Knuckles knocked out super sonic back into his base form.
Sonic origins just came out and it really is a shame he no longer uploads, all of his videos were my childhood. Hope he comes back to uploading

Also, fun fact: Ice Cap Zone's music was based on an unreleased song from a band Brad Buxer, someone who was involved with composing Sonic 3's soundtrack with MJ, was in called "The Jetzons". If you have the free time, look up a song by them called "Hard Times" and listen to Ice Cap Zone.

I think I can speak for everyone by saying that Hydrocity Zone is my favourite stage in the Sonic 3 half of this game.
I got tense everytime you jumped 2 red spheres. I would have been too afraid to try that.

I was so lucky to have grown up with the Gamecube and the Sonic compilations. I have collected some of the best times of my life with Mega Collection and Gems Collection. It even had gems like Ristar which is one of the best genesis games imo. So glad that Mania will be bringing back that era for me and my bro!

Dude. I'm so hyped for both Mania and Forces. I just bought a Wii and installed homebrew with a genesis emulator to play Sonic 3 Complete. Also bought a copy of Colors since I never played it. I considered buying a Wii U but didn't want to pop for something so expensive that's last gen. Plus I heard Lost World and *BOOM* aren't all to great. Helpful hint, use Stage Select and Debug then pause and hold _B_ to use slow-mo at the fast part of the Special Stages in Sonic 3.

My fave stage in Sonic 3? Marble Gardens, for its absolutely amazing backgrounds, music and just....atmosphere. Like, its essentially an expansion on the ruins of Marble Zone from Sonic 1. I like the ancient buildings among the plant overgrowth, the pits of red sand, and those peach-like fruit trees, and you can tell that alot of love went into making this stage. That aside, I love Blue Sphere, man. I don't get whey so many people keep saying that it was the bane of their Sonic childhood. I love how there's an almost cryptic strategy to perfecting the stage and getting all the rings, cause there's only so many ways it can be done, and getting that 50k score after each bonus was my goal. I also played this gem on Sonic Jam for the Sega Saturn...ah, the memories...
Also, no word yet on Hydrocity Zone making the Sonic Mania roster, but apparently Lava Reef is in. I though people...hated that stage...

COBI, your playing Sonic 3 complete, so you need to push a different button to go super. (also means you can still use Shield abilities with 50+ rings) and Super doesn't override stage music anymore.... I forget whether Flying Battery defaults to it's Prototype position in S3C. If so, the next two episodes are going to be fun...

I love these bonusstages! Did you know you can jump over the red/bouncer spheres too? You can use this as an overly risky (but thrilling) shortcut to get to areas with blue spheres.
Not sure if you can do it in this version, but you should also be able to hit the "end of level" sign just before it hits the ground to get goodies. A shortcut I used to take in Hydrocity Zone is by grabbing the second controller right at the start and send Tails flying, grab & carry sonic and make a sharp right to take the top route.
do note I think you play this game quite well :)

My favorite Sonic 3 level is Hydrocity Zone.
I think Carnival Night is also fun, but I LOVE Hydrocity's music.
"Bad" actually syncs a lot better with Launch Base zone, in my opinion. Listen to the Yuzoboy mashup of the two, it is uncanny, and it is confirmed by Brad Buxor that MJ's team did influence this track. Hydrocity, on the other hand, apparently was not a MJ-driven effort...but Act 2 is still my favorite Sonic theme.
Was halfway expecting you to react to the intro for Sonic Mania, but then again, I also figured you'd probably wait until the game is out. Anyways, my favorite Sonic 3 stage is Ice Cap, and I'm really hoping to see it return in Mania. Good luck avoiding any leaks!

My favorite zone on the sonix 3 side is most definately hydro city zone. Part of it is for the music, the other is just for how fast you can possibly go (and low-key how you can moonwalk on water)
Cobi, In this rom, player 1 controller can make tails carry sonic by jumping and pressing up on the D-pad. To go fly up, just keep on tapping up.

Actually im not sure cobi remembers that tails cant pick sonic up in sonic 2.Fun Fact cobi is playing sonic 3 complete which is basically Christian whitehead's incomplete sonic 3 remake to where you can change some of the music,enable super peel out for sonic,and enable tails assist where by holding up and pressing the jump button twice tails will start flying this feature was in sonic 1 & 2 for mobile,Christian Whitehead has brought this feature back for Sonic Mania.
I love that "OH COME ON" on the mini boss fights. It used to hype me up too.
