      What most ppl didn’t see unless they followed the huskies is they morphed into a running team half way through the season when Dillon Johnson emerged and penix stopped slinging it everywhere to protect the defense which was banged up and not great to begin with. His stats suffered as a result but it a selfless team first move which I thought would appeal to a lot of coaches. I hope he does well. He’s a fun guy to root for.

    I'm a big time Penix fan, I honestly think he can do it at the next level. Reminds me a bit of Sam Bradford just in his biomechanics. He doesn't have a huge arm or tons of athleticism, but he's got down the field accuracy, a lot of experience, and the ability to hit almost any spot on the field. He can read leverage and coverages, and he doesn't shy away from taking big shots. That what you need in a QB these days. His lack of outside the pocket athleticism and injury history probably the biggest concerns.

    Here's my concerns with Penix. (as UW Husky fan)
    The NFL has basically taken away the deep ball by switching to a cover 4 shell. Guys like Mahomes and R Wilson forced D coordinators to keep 2 safeties deep. Mahomes adaoted, Wilson has struggled to.
    Penix best ability is driving the ball down field and using leverage, putting it where only his guy can get it.
    He puts it in places that no other prospect has in years. But can he routinely take those check downs? Will he prioritize moving the sticks? Will he clean up the mechanics that sometimes cause him to under throw deep balls?
    If he does, then he could easily be the best QB in this class. If not, he'll be Jameis Winston.

    All the other youtube channels that keep popping up in my recommended with analysis of Penix have been seriously undervaluing him and grading him quite poorly. Additionally a lot of weight is being put on his injuries and I have seen some people even argue Penix is not even a top 5 QB in the draft. Placing him behind Caleb Williams, Jayden Daniels, Drake Maye, Bo Nix, and JJ McCarthy.
    As a biased Seattle fan who is also uninformed of the current professional analysis of what Seattle should do in the draft I would LOVE for them to draft Penix and also potentially Polk. Odunze is obviously a baller but he's going early and Seattle already has Metcalf. Polk seems to be falling pretty far on a lot of boards and Penix already has synergy with him. I feel like Metcalf plays similar to Odunze as a massive, physical WR with a large catch radius that is a massive deep threat so Penix should work well with him. Seattle also loved the play action deep pass game when they were a good team and they might be able to fall back on that again with Penix throwing bombs.
    Also Seattle does have a history of drafting a lot of huskies. I think there's a lineman from UW that will probably be drafted instead, but this idea sounds cool in my head

    Dude throws like Wilson and Geno has great deep throw and beside him bo nix is the only one who understands what the defense is doing and uses motion to know what's happening only thing I don't know is how much tape he watches like bo nix is a tape junky and will be good in NFL real good Peyton Manning style good I believe with little more mobility if penix film studies he will be great too

      That is a great question that I lot of people like to ask. Long story short, he has two ACL tears and that is scaring away NFL scouts. Personally, I think Michael Penix will overcome his injuries in the NFL. We all know he will be an absolute dawg if he can stay healthy. I would be so hype if my Seahawks drafted him. He could sit behind Geno Smith for a year. As a matter of fact, Ryan Grubb, Penix’s offensive coordinator at Washington, is gonna be the OC for Seattle this year

    • @krishisel5316

      Just an FYI, John Elway played his entire career without an ACL in his left knee. I'm not scared of Penix's knees.

      @@krishisel5316 The old warriors are great but this isn't the same era and QBs have to use their legs. Penix avoids sacks better than anybody, so his knees are fine right now.

      @ian54589 9 місяців тому +3

      Yeah seeing a comparison to the Michigan game would be really interesting especially since some of this production seemed like Kalen against the Texas secondary rather than Penix reading a sound D

      @DK_Raiders117 9 місяців тому

      I like the idea of doing a contrast video as to what Michigan was doing to confuse him. It also didn't help that his RT got beat on so many plays and Penix's internal clock got sped way up and he got leveled on those missed blocks. Ice bath reflections for sure after the Championship game.

    He definitely seems like a Mac jones or Jameis Winston level prospect.
    He is a dominant college player but I don’t think his game will naturally translate with his progressions and reads. Under a good offensive coach he definitely could be better than that, but that’s where I see his current trajectory
