It's been a long road to get to this point, but we have one track in operation at Back River Motorsports Park. We are now starting to rehab a second racetrack. Let's see how this goes!

I absolutely love watching these track maintenance and restoration videos! It’s so soothing to watch the place come back to life, after being abandoned and neglected for so long. What a great event! It looked like all attendees were enjoying themselves. When you drove in first thing in the morning, I must say the place looked fantastic. The wall, bleachers, & banners made the place look like something cool was going to happen there. The timer and PA seemed like it added a huge professional element. Very excited to see the dirt track resurrection begin! I thoroughly enjoyed the transformation of the facility so far, and really looking forward to this next phase!
I felt the same way driving in. It's a cool feeling, albeit somewhat nerve wracking too lol. I've likened it to your first day at school.
The PA was a major upgrade, that's an understatement. It really added a missing element to the day, that I didn't realize was so important for the drivers and spectators.
@@Greenlightfilming So true about the PA system. Decent PA and track announcer can make or break a track. I recently became the "voice" of our local short track. I take a great deal of time making sure our system is up to the task.
I have to admit that even after ten years working at this track, I still get stoked every time I pull into the facility. There is no feeling quite like it, and I love it! I give my pay back to the track as well.
The intro was fantastic to watch. Seeing the sunrise over the track with the seating, the banners, the concrete barriers, everything. I remember the first video where you shared that you'd bought the track, seeing you and everyone that has helped, evolve the track is truly commendable. I've loved watching it happen, all the way from the UK. I wish more small tracks here got the same love and investment.

What are the plans for the second area once it's drained down? Or is it a case of seeing what's under there first?
Also, any thoughts on some sort of recording/live streaming of events? I know there are a few UK viewers like myself who'd love to be able to support the track beyond mech. Might be a way to help boost income, although I'm no expert on the logistics of streaming events.
The plan thus far is to drain it, assess the surface condition, remove all debris (tires, podiums, barrels etc then proceed accordingly.
I'd like to be able to stream an event, but it does cost money with likely little return.
I always wanted to own a 2 track property .. 1/4 mile and autocross. Btw, I think Ken Koretsky may do that with Maple Grove Raceway. Also, we couldn't thank the Koretsky family enough .. for saving our track.❤
I got a chance to meet and talk to Cody with the Cutlass at Road America in Elkhart Lake a couple of weeks ago for Nascar/Porche/GridLife event. I recognized his car from your videos, and talked to him about that. I hope he had a good run that weekend, and I'm glad you are having so much luck with your track. If it was closer, I would surely come to spectate. Keep up the great work.

It would be cool to get a 3 week long timelapse of the lake draining, but that'd be super annoying with a battery powered camera. Plus it might grow legs

It will be really interesting once that pond is empty if you can see anything resembling a track under there. What are you going to do to keep it from filling back up? Congrats on the success so far. Finally! It's like watching paint dry right now, but what do you expect with that much water to move.
I drag raced My cuda there when it was the Apollo. The drag strip was closed then but the bar owner let me make a couple runs. The surface was really rough. But it was fun to do it
That's cool! Always fun to hear stories from the guys that ran here back in the day. Do you happen to have any photos of it at the Apollo, or of the Apollo? I'm always looking for photos.

Congrats! It's nice to see returns on your hard work and I like the longer videos. Sub count is coming along as well! You'll be filming track 3.0 updates before you know it!! I think it'd be cool to have a time lapse of the pond/track draining. It would make for a really dramatic, look how far we've come montage. The title could even be "Look! We grew a track" lol.

Would love to see a few more of those pumps thrown in the track and get that down even faster. Can't wait to see you tackle the drainage issue, hopefully its something simple like a clog or ect and not a major project. Very excited to see how nice you end up making this track area again.
I agree, it would go faster. However, we're only permitted for the maximum flow per minute, and hour allotment per day by the DNR.

Damn dude, looks great. Now you're saving the track number 2, what about the space behind it? Looked up on Google Maps where you are, saw it there. Could've been a dirt track in the past? Plans to connect with the oval for a large stretch of rallycross circuit? Keep up the good work!

The old clay gokart track should be good for flat track cycle racing, just one more idea for bringing in events

I know that it sounds like due to zoning you are limited on the amount of events per year. However, you said that some participants came from 3-4 hours away. Is there availability to offer camping for the people traveling from further away? I know some of the dirt tracks around here had camping on site, and it always seemed to add a cool extra layer of interest to the event. Also, are you able to have someone selling concessions? Or if not, can you bring in a food truck to offer something to eat to the attendees, the food truck could possibly split a percentage of proceeds, or have a flat fee that they pay to you.
Need some racing flags and you need good ole American Flag.

In the future as you gain revenue you should look into if you can build onto the track as it looks like the oval is realistically mainly for go karts looks abit small for anything but auto cross so you might aswell add some more turns outside the oval leading into it for a more exciting possibility of layouts to retain people coming obviously only if the track is aloud to have that addition

We could potentially start doing that, but it's so slow it might be going down an inch an hour at full rate. It's like watching paint dry

On site electric power 313 right side That looks like an above ground transformer is that true?
If you are going to use a portable generator, the standard gasoline home ones are 3,600 RPM making them very noisy and fuel hungry unless you get a $$$ Honda inverter. Some alternatives are a construction site light tower. These are generally diesel , run at 1,800 RPM and are in the 6 to 8,000 Watt range.
Another alternative is a natural gas backup generator from a building. These can be converted to propane. If you are friends with an electrician, these pop up from time to time. A 10,000 Watt unit that uses a 4 cylinder engine would be about as big as I'd want to go as over sizing leads to excessive fuel consumption.
What's the plan for further rain accumulation? Hopefully the infield had some drains at one point.

It was a very fast Karting track circa 2010. There's over a decade of accumulated rainwater in it.
