such a awesome demo, mine just arrived today, honestly my bar is set pretty low because size but i sounds pretty good, perfect for just plugging in in a room or at a buddys house, Btw love your playing man! you really bring out the best tones of that telly! rock on
Cheers man. Glad you enjoyed the demo. It was a fun video to do. Plus I've had this amp for about 15 years I think, and still going strong. Those Lollar Tele Specials make everything shine! Its a great little amp and understated. Enjoy!
I got this amp for free with another purchase I made and it was a great free gift! It’s great when I want to practice without lugging around my big amps with me!
I use it a lot in my bedroom! It's my smallest amp, I have also a Hodad Danelectro, a beautiful amp for rockabilly ( the version with tremolo and echo)
I really want to buy one because i want to play outside where there's no power switch to be plugged in. But i have a bass, an active bass. I think im gonna blow it up in 5 minutes
Just me riffing really, may have sounded like a few songs though. There was the first three chords of "I believe in a thing called love" later on in that section. I could maybe tab it for you?
What I find is that when you have a gain/distortion pedal between the amp and guitar, it makes the clean a lot less distorted when the pedal isn't on. I use a joyo gain pedal and a kinsman overdrive pedal and both make the clean a lot better. The reverb pedal I have doesn't make a difference though. I'm a beginner though, it's just something I noticed. And these amps seem to run a lot better off battery than the wall wart. Unless you connect a 9v battery snap on connector to a dc jack and power that way. Powering from wall wart makes a buzz. Even if you use wall wart for the pedal. This amp, for some reason hates any power coming from a wall wart. Even if it's transformed from ac to dc. Just use straight dc from the source, batteries basically.
@FretSuccess same for vox amplugs as well if you put them in a pedal. Always use batteries for the pedal. I think the buzz is caused by them being low powered things (the mini amp and vox amplugs) making them sensitive to the slight bit of ac (wall wart) creating the buzz. I find the amp great for practicing. For some reason it sounds a lot better clean with pedals. Even just a reverb pedal on low time it sounds nice. But straight from guitar to amp, not so much. It distorts and is not very playable clean. I have no idea why it goes less distorted, so I tend to use it with pedals and it's fine. My big kustom kga16r amp is a lot better.
@FretSuccess hey man, I have come to realise that what cleans these little things up on clean, is to use a buffered bypass pedal, not true bypass. Just keep the effect inactivated but still powered by battery or dc jack.
@@TheBlueskyson I can't say I've ever had that comparison, but I'll take it. Definitely grab one. I've had mine 20 years. Even if you don't use it too much, it's a cool ornament. Thanks for making a comment
The one in this video is an older model of Planet Waves. The current version is this one: www.amazon.ca/Planet-Waves-Custom-Instrument-PW-GRA-10/dp/B0002H02IG?th=1. I like the 90 degree on one end of it for the guitar side. Hope that helps. They make decent cables.
Is this recommended for a newbie I’m heading out to the shop what sells them near me I’ve been playing 5 months but my amp is trash so I’m looking for a really cheap one as I’m poor
how do we charge this amp? i have a rechargeable 9v battery and an adapter. Is these two enough? or do we need extra charger for 9v battery? please help
It's not a device that can charge batteries. The adapter will power the unit directly or you'll have to charge the rechargeable battery in an external charger.
EVERYBODY plays guitar better than me. 😔😛 Got an Orange mini 3-watt, and I'm kind of shocked that it sounds better than it should...I just bought it because it's orange. If one finds that it "sucks", mic the speaker very close w a 57 or a good mic. You'll get proximity effect that way, filling out the sound. Tracking it that way sounds great; it works perfectly fine in a mix - sounds great, even. Now I want this Marshall and the Fender tweed mini Twin. Good demo.
Is it possible to use this mini amp for other instruments than the electric guitar? For example electric violin. I read somewhere that it's only for electric guitars
@@FretSuccess oh really. That's nice. I saw that someone asked if it's compatible with a bass and a guy answered that it's not because of different frequencies. That's why I thought maybe the electric violin is also not compatible
@@SOz.61 violin and guitar are similar frequency. Also the amps will work fine with bass. It will sound shit but it will be fine. The whole bass guitar affecting guitar amps dur to frequency is nonsense. Regardless, plug your violin in and have fun!
Nice, gonna pick one up in a few days. I am currently putting together a Harley Benton kit and it's my first electric guitar, so it could sound crap, especially since I dunno how to play decently at all, but hopefully I'll find a good way to learn once I can make the sounds haha

So in between breaks i like to practice, so i think (hope!) this tiny amp will be a solution to chase my colleagues away..hahaha!
