Your knowledge on these machines and some of the problems early on, is very impressive. Thanks for the review. I am actually purchasing the Raptor XL from my local dealer tomorrow,
Hello Will those HydroGear ZT2200 transmission hold up for a long time ??? I have less than a acre...Or would you move up to the XD with the 2800's??? Also with the flex forks on the Xl will it ride alot better that the XD? Thanks is they any other differents in the xl&XD in the steering from the 2800's and 2200's
The X or XL would handle up to an acre no problem. The flex forks make a HUGE difference, I will never own another machine without them. Thanks for watching.
Can anyone tell me if those new 'Big Bite' tires tear up lawns more than the previously used tire/the tires found on most competitors? Just wondering if I would have any problem on small, residential lawns with those tires. Great video.
They can if your not careful, but the old style tire could tear your grass up too. If you didn't have any problems with the old style then you will be fine with these. Thanks for watching.
The Raptor SD was replaced by the Raptor XD. Here is the video on the XD - ua-cam.com/video/bFkL2Cvvsv4/v-deo.html The XDX replaced the SDX, I do not have a video on that one. Thanks for watching
love my raptor X 54. the "big bite" tires are horrible! all they do is slip. the mower will barely back up and turn on dry flat ground. With that said finding tires in that size is nearly impossible
any information on the jerky steering? i have heard there is not resistance on the arms for steering one comment said bumps in the yard make it harder to steer straight line. and seriously what yard doesnt have bumps. i really want the xd 48 inch but this would be a deal buster
No I have not heard of any updates or improvements that Hustler has made to the steering. The one that I mowed with wasn't too bad, it just didn't have as much resistance as the older Raptors had that I was used to. I didn't have any issue mowing a straight line with it on my very rough terrane. I still think their steering is better than a lot of the competitors out there. Go test drive one and see what you think.
I just traded my older raptor for the raptor x. Though the steering is not as hard as other mowers I've tried, it still isn't difficult to drive straight. Unless your going full speed on a bumpy yard you should have no problems cutting straight lines. Best of luck!
Bought the X a few days ago. I am happy with it. It better keep me happy or I will turn it into a go-kart! Naw, It is well built. My only complaints are slight. The tires aren't as "Grippy" as I would like but that could still be because they're new and slick? Also i wish the controls weren't so close together. That is just personal preference though. Thouroughly checked out nearly every other brand and just on a whim bought this one without reading a review til AFTER. I can say, I didn't make a mistake. I feel good about it.
I have a video on the Raptor XD as well. If you watch it you should be able to pick out the differences in the machines. This video goes over the differences between the X and XL.
Don’t forget the deck lift system. I went to look at husky and saw it’s a grab handle vs a pedal. Might be buying a XD tonight because of that one reason.
I think sealed bearings are great for homeowners. Most homeowners don't maintain their machines like they should, so a sealed bearing will last longer than a greaseable bearing that doesn't get greased. I have yet to see a sealed bearing on any of these machines go out just because of normal wear. All cars and trucks nowadays come with sealed bearings, why shouldn't your mower?
Another great video Jonas. I see they finally took the MaxsGarajMahal MGM Belt Cover Porting seriously. As well as several other MGM modifications from the past 6 years. Glad they finally came around to give a better value for the end users. Keep up the good work.
Thanks Max. I'm just glad that Hustler is a company that actually listens to what their customers want and then tries to accommodate them the best they can.
Great overview, I just picked up this mower today. I hope it serves me well!
Awesome! Thanks for watching!
Hello, what do you think of the unit so far?

how much is it selling for in your area?

Appreciate the review. Buying it today. I have 1.2 acres to cut, I think ithe X will eat it up.

The tires look cool but I feel like they slip a lot more than the old tires. There are some times when I'm just turning and the wheel slips.
can you put a bagger in these?
Yes. Talk to your dealer.
Great straight to the point review!
Thanks for watching.
Hello Jonas, l like your videos. Have you a video on the XDX Hustler. I understand that's what took the place of the Raptor SD. Thanks

This is the Grassmaster that Hustler used on the Raptor SDs - amzn.to/2VuyPnX
@@PowerEquipmentMan unfortunately not the right size. The X has the 8 inch wheels unfortunately
I love the machine. But I hate the new tires. Every time I turn they slip. Very disappointed. I'm thinking about changing them out.
I have been hearing about issues with the tires as well. It will be interesting to see if Hustler changes them for next year. Thanks for watching

How do you know if you should have a machine with a serviceable trans?
If you are mowing more than 1 acre per week, I would recommend getting a machine with a serviceable hydro.
I want the likes with the ZT-3200 hydro. So much better.
If you wanted the 3200 hydro you would have to get the Fastrak - ua-cam.com/video/bWcbM_-tdRs/v-deo.html

What’s the actual cutting speed?
You could mow at full speed if your grass conditions will allow it - 7 mph
11/2/21, 42" is what I got for my property. Not 2big, not 2expensive (Gravely xtx42 (Tot: $4089.), just right......###3 blades are better!!

this is nearly identical to my z242 Husqvarnia. same engine same hydro gear same deck except suspension in front and better tires in back.

Can I ask your opinion of the sealed bearings? I’ve been eyeballing the XD, but the front axle, spindles and casters are all sealed bearings.
