Cya later CC, hello mr. Fraser...love to see it my man
Would love to see a Fraser Golf Institute and Golf Liberty team-up/reunion! Let's go!!!
Content from Ian, in any form, is always worth the watch
Great to see you back Ian. Best of luck. Will be following.
Love the new channel, Ian! But… as a Foresight employee… Bushnell does not own Foresight. Bushnell and Foresight are both sister companies under Vista Outdoor / Revelyst. It’s Vista / Revelyst that owns both of us. We are very happy to be partnering and sharing our technology with Bushnell.. and as you alluded to… some exciting stuff coming down the pipeline in the very near future!
👍🏼
Love to see the monthly witb’s continue on the new channel!!!!
Been following you for a long while. Great to see you’re independent now. Looking forward to a lot of quality content.
Completely agree with shorter fairway woods. They are just so easy to hit
Congrats on the new venture Ian. Best of luck. I predict success. I'll be watching. Cheers.
I look forward to this WEEKLY series of updates 😂
I did not realise Ian departed Club Champion. I am surprised at the move.
I worked for them for the best part of three years, it was time to get back to doing what I love to do.
I moved from a ventus tr blue 6x to a graphite design CQ 5x for a similar reason! That and finally moving to midsize grip vs std has helped that loft more effortlessly.
congratulations on the new venture!!! good stuff!!!
Hi Ian, love the content, what length do you play the 5 wood at and what sleeve setting?
42” A1
I’ve learned a bunch from Ian over the years. Good luck with the new venture.
Love the channel and this video.
I find myself going back and forth every couple years with driver setup. Start with a bomber weight forward head which gives me sexy indoor numbers but costs me 2-4 a round with lack of control, then switch to a more neutral driver to gain control and end up losing 10-20 yards, then get sick of having par 5s just out of reach and switch back.
Been a big fan for a long time Ian. Best of luck on the new endeavor! Happy Holidays.
Impressive the consistency with the 6 iron. 28 deg dynamic loft with 6 iron? My pro wants me at 22deg with my 7!
I love the detail you provide with your mind set and work each club with your game. Merry Christmas !!
Merry Christmas. I have the 223 and 225 in long irons. With project x ls 6.5. However, think they are slightly heavy as I have a lower back issue. What woukd you recommend trying like a stuff tip as I got the ball high anyway and keeps it straighter. 7 iron swing speed is around 93mph but can get to 100 if warmed up ha. Thanks in advance if you reply.
Good to see you producing your own content. I’m in!
I love seeing WITB from someone who can quite literally choose the best of everything. Definitely going to try out a shorter FW next season. That Franken 4 wood looks like it would be fun to hit.
For the Frankenwood, would you tip the shaft for a 4-wood (the loft) or 7 wood (the length and club weight)?
Loving it! ❤ greetings from Germany 🎉
Fun to watch as always. Keep us up to date!!
The video is great, you need to keep promoting your channel. Is not hard.
No way. Ian quit TXG/CC just so he could finally make a WITB without conflict of interest 😂
TXG was the greatest golf channel ever, hopefully this new channel goes that direction.
He starts up multiple companies and sells them off. Happened way before TXG with places like modern golf
@@SnoopyGolf I know a real OG when I see the little tidbit on Ian being a prior member of the Modern Golf team
I don’t think he “sold off “ Modern Golf. I think he decided to go on his own after working for Modern. He has enough contacts in the industry and possibly felt he could bring a different “customer experience “ to fitting. Obviously it worked…..
Club champion is absolute garbage anyways. Worst fitting experience ever. Absolute scam. I’m sure he didn’t get along with them.
Proud to be in the bag ! 🙏🙏🙏
Lots of valuable information here today. I brought my golf journal book out and took quite a few notes. I’ll share one valuable insight for me. Driver. Per my Arccos data it’s the weakest part of my game. Losing strokes on distance, accuracy and penalties. Mini driver is in the bag for me as my kind of fairway finder. I like the experiment of higher lofted/spin driver to bring that club back under control, living with giving up some yards while refining the driver swing. I’ll be watching throughout the 2025 season to see Ian’s evolution with the driver experiment and see where he goes with it as he refines his driver swing. Should be interesting!
Just saw the “final live”. Learned a lot from the TXG channel and definitely watching your future videos here!
Great content of your club selection & their set up, very informative. I also was quit surprised to see you went out on your own, another
new adventure, good luck! I will definitely be following you!. Looking forward to the next video.
Glad to be back watching your videos! Keep giving us THAT TECH!! Ha.
Love it !!!! New Titleist carry bag it appears as well ? Very interesting to hear your explanations for the driver and shaft switch wouldn't mind trying that option myself.
K* reminds me of the TW wedge from Tmag
Hey man congrats on the new gig! Curious question for ya. What kind of grips do you use and what size for a medium glove user like yourself vs a large glove user.
Brother Ian!! Congrats on a new venture.
I did same thing 2 years ago with driver. I put ego aside, had always played a lower spin head. Put in the g430 max and had a few of my best driving years and shot a personal best 68 (5 under) at Streamsong Black this year!
Really looking forward to what’s going to come out on this channel
Ian, are you available for a fitting in the future? If so, where in the GTA would it happen?
No, I’m not fitting in the GTA for the foreseeable future Mike.
Love my 243s and Smoke mini, thinking about selling the 4 and 5 and going w 245s as the 243s are not that easy to hit compared, been following you for along time love to see you venturing off on your own and starting a channel, life time subscriber here
I've been toying with the idea of a ventus red in my tsr3 10 degree for just the same effect. I demoed one and it was so easy and repeatable to turn over.
Good luck on the new venture Ian.
Just switched into 243s and they are one of the better irons I've hit in the last few year
I have the MCA BB 73TX in my Callaway mini driver, automatic for me, might be a decent profile match with ventus red in the driver
Lol, you’re a mind reader. I have one waiting to be built up, 100% going to try that in the mini driver.
Ian, would a ventus red stiff shaft be comparable to the ping tour chrome 2.0 stiff shaft?
Good luck with the new channel mate.
Ian does the wee metal bristle standard groove cleaners damage your grooves at all?
No, it’s fine.
Glad to see some club and equipment knowledge will also land alongside your new content menu. 👍
I have both the Vokey and Mizuno T24 wedges. I’ve found the T24 wedges superior in every respect, including spin and a soft, buttery feel.
Lots of people love Mizuno wedges.
It’s amazing what a softer tip does if you have positive AOA. It’s a cheat code where the stiffer black lead deflects more and moves strike to the bottom, that red will move it up the face without spinning it!. It’s made all the difference in my strike going more “mid” launch. The marketing material has to say something but it rarely has ever played out for me in practice.
Are you suggesting that the increased droop of the red Ventus Velocore+ driver shaft is better for Ian than the black?
@ I’m suggesting if you have an extremely high AOA 5 or more that profile is going to move strike up the face instead of down at the bottom where his usual miss is. Marketing aside it’s just a timing mechanism and what matters is how it moves dynamically through space. Droop is just handle stiffness but lead deflection is what impacts strike. That’s why puring a driver makes no sense . The shaft doesn’t bend statically in a straight line . It’s a squiggly one droops in the handle ,lags in the midsection ,and leads at impact.
@@ScottDreyfus Would a black profile be better for those with a driver angle of attack closer to 0 or even negative?
@ there is no exact formula. It’s all you based. I can’t guess at darts in the dark. If you have a specific question and launch data I can give you an educated guess but I’ve never seen you swing. I started learning the trade in 1993 though so I have a little experience 🤣
Stoked for more Ian! I too am tinkering with driver, mini driver @11.5, a shortened 4w, and then 4i. What hosel setting are you playing the shortened 4w at? Looking forward to the new content!
I hope Mikey is off camera haha
I've been making a bunch of changes this year. Maybe not as detail oriented as I'd like but i don't have the luxury of a fitter within no less than 3 or 4 hours from me. Mizuno has been winning me over.
I play an ST-G 5-wood and kicked the 3. Turned down to 17 (might need a shaft)
I got a couple S23 wedges to replace my aging Fourteens. They also desperately need a shaft change.
And I'm about to receive a ST-Max driver 9.5 with a RDX Smoke Blue which replaces a 2016 Taylormade M2 I'm not super enthusiastic to change lol
Nice 👍🏻
Merry CHRISTmas 🎁
I really enjoyed the videos of Ian getting lessons from Mr. Raflewski...especially outdoors .
Hopefully some outdoor lessons make it to the channel.
putting, chipping all situations, partial shots!
Maybe a swing coach on course diagnosing what Ian's swing is missing outdoors compared to indoors...for me alignment is a lot more difficult outdoors
Those OG headcovers go so hard
I remember Ian when you were hitting the G4 30 max driver. It seemed so effortless such a fairway finder. Yes you lost some distance but I totally agree with the path you’re taking. Might be worth looking back at that driver as well or maybe even the 430 LST
Saw the comments on the Club champion videos - glad I stumbled across your new channel !
How about tee height? There are so many options for tees these days. How about a segment on what tee length and height is best for new driver performance.
Awesome WITB Ian. Been following you since early days at TXG. Just subscribed today.
Can’t disagree with you on sticking with TSR3, your explanation about being more front weighted makes sense. As soon I saw the weight track up front I knew it would be less forgiving.
My TSR3 10 deg head playing at B1 is awesome. During my custom fit my CHS on trackman indoors was 96-98 mph which I think is about 100 mph on GCquad. Got fit into hzdrs Red CB 50 g 6.0. Love it.
Enjoyed the video. Fun to hear the what’s and whys of your set makeup.
Im playing two drivers this year. A TSI 3 8 degree and a g430 max. A bomber and a fairway finder.
Good man. Phil used to sometimes play with two drivers.
Hey ian congrats and good luck with new channel. Id love to hear more about CG location and how that affects flight, in regards to your conversation with jim furyk the other day.
Also would love to hear your opinions on single length irons or the new combo from avoda. Thanks and good luck
As Steven Yellin says. When will you be done with your swing and get out of swing prison. Sounds like a prolonged period of only face contact, ground contact, start direction, knowing your patterns and carry with each club, improving your strategy and learning to get the ball in the hole quicker would be beneficial. A "better" golf swing or 5 mph more club speed will help with lower scores?! Or the 6 inches between the ears sharpening what you already have.
I play a 16.5 wood at 7 wood length too!
Cabot Golf Resort quarter zip. Were you on a golf trip with an old friend recently by chance
Go on Ian lad well done going it alone. Keep it coming. Hope you’re not missing Mikey too much 😂. Merry Christmas thanks for the hard work and content this year.
I have the same setup with my driver, and it's fantastic 👌🏻
What did I miss here? No more TXG/CC??? Subbed either way. Where Ian goes, I will follow.
He sold TXG to CC, and left CC after a few years of remaining on.
What are those white dots on the driver club face? Mine doesn't have them and I never seen them.
For his simulator
Thank you
Have you tried the Mizuno gloves?
Actually never tried them.
@@FraserGolfInstitute Mizuno gloves are my go-to now. For me they work a treat. Made in Japan.
Great as always Ian! Cant wait for Ian’s witb when the Qi35 launches then the updated version when the G440 makes an appearance
Love the 2 Lob Wedges and the extra driver head. K Star is so hot right now, like Hansel. How long do you give the driver shaft? Until the PGA Show? . Love the Mizunos! Vosh can you hear me. ❤🔥
Love a WITB from you, great to see you going back to the draw I think that is your natural shape. with your 5W what would you class as standard 7W length?
I also still game my TSR with my GT in the head cover in my bag but it’s the same specs. Thought that was funny
WITB Legend….possibly the greatest 😂
Weekly or monthly edition Fraz?
Let’s say monthly, for now!! 😉
What length is the driver? You mentioned you tried a shorter driver, what did you not like about it?
FUCKING IAN IS BACK LADS LETS GOOOOOOO
You’ve had those BirTees as a constant in your video from feels like day one. I’d like to see you analyze the difference in spin Vs a Prolength Tee and Vs something like a Zero Friction tee. I’ve noticed vast differences in spin and trajectory going from indoors to outdoors and using different tees.
Looking forward to Ian's monthly WITB.
We are with you Ian!
I’ve been fit for AI Smoke fww’s recently and I just can’t with them. Face it too shallow, they want to hook and I’m giving up too much distance. That Titleist 4W head in the 7W length looks exactly like what I need.
What length is driver?
45.25”
I went from TSI3 to TSR when my fitting for GT3 showed me it wasn’t my ideal CG.
lol. Already with the WITB video. Look forward to seeing the update in January
Love to see you doing your own thing Ian, all the best in 2025!
Subbed before asking 😂 Fras = follow
What is the best exercise to stop my path being so far out to in. Been trying to neutralize it for years and just haven’t found something that works besides really swing weight heavy clubs
The deWiz trainer. Also get the HackMotion with the Pro package. Gold.
Congratulations on your new direction, Ian.
I’m curious about PXG’s Secret Weapon mini-driver. It has made it to the conforming list, so it should make its appearance in the next month or two. The Taylormade Brnr has been a real soldier in the bag, especially off the deck.
Love the sole on the K*
Ian, did you get away from Champion's Golf. If so kudos to you!
Every Batman needs a Robin, Ian.
Who’s interviewing?
Please, no wunderboy
What's up dude glad to follow you on your new Channel 😊
My Liege,
Did your driver struggles in Jacksonville lead you back to the TSR 3? You’re absolutely money with that driver. Love the new content and channel. Great work as always.
So this ones lasting 4 weeks?
What's your playing index? This is a very complicated set.
I am currently 2hcp
What loft is the mini driver?
11.5
What degree is your Mini driver?
Ah yes, the first of many LOL. Merry Christmas
Glad to see the TSr3 back. Sorry but the GT is a MISS in my opinion. Hated it in my fit
Why in the bag baby!
Bring back the Sim 2 fairway wood!!! OG style!
Love those, they are in my set back home in Scotland
