So I went from TSR 3 9 deg to GT 3 9 deg and used the same Ventus Blue Velacore 6x shaft. No amount of adjusting helped it either,, and just like you, I had a two way miss. My Pro swapped the 9 deg out for the 10 deg and it’s now the longest and straightest driver I’ve ever owned. Good stuff Ian!
Love the new channel, Ian! But… as a Foresight employee… Bushnell does not own Foresight. Bushnell and Foresight are both sister companies under Vista Outdoor / Revelyst. It’s Vista / Revelyst that owns both of us. We are very happy to be partnering and sharing our technology with Bushnell.. and as you alluded to… some exciting stuff coming down the pipeline in the very near future!
lifetime golfer and club builder here. your bag review validated my set make up that i have arrived at many years ago... driver, safety driver (2w), 4 wood at shortened length, 3 hybrid (21*), 4-P, gap and 56*. I needed the hybrid as have too much gap between 4 wood and 4 iron. Don't have enough speed I guess for the 4 iron! And never really got on with 60's, so none of those.
Ian, congratulations on your new path. I’ve subscribed to your content from the beginning. Your knowledge, content, presentation, humor, and ability to teach/coach is superior to other similar channels. I’m a former D1 Strength & Conditioning Coach and the ability to impart what you know to others affecting them in a positive way is what separates good coaches from great coaches. I’m now connected to the golf industry with exercise and swing aid products I’ve developed. So, looking forward to the future of your channel.
Love the channel and this video. I find myself going back and forth every couple years with driver setup. Start with a bomber weight forward head which gives me sexy indoor numbers but costs me 2-4 a round with lack of control, then switch to a more neutral driver to gain control and end up losing 10-20 yards, then get sick of having par 5s just out of reach and switch back.
Great vid ,mate , look forward to watching the channel. On another note...i had the TSR3 and i seemed to spin it up so much that it didnt go past my ltdx 3 wood...bizarre...so Paradym TD seems to be helping....now where are this new cobra 3d printed 😄
Great content of your club selection & their set up, very informative. I also was quit surprised to see you went out on your own, another new adventure, good luck! I will definitely be following you!. Looking forward to the next video.
Lots of valuable information here today. I brought my golf journal book out and took quite a few notes. I’ll share one valuable insight for me. Driver. Per my Arccos data it’s the weakest part of my game. Losing strokes on distance, accuracy and penalties. Mini driver is in the bag for me as my kind of fairway finder. I like the experiment of higher lofted/spin driver to bring that club back under control, living with giving up some yards while refining the driver swing. I’ll be watching throughout the 2025 season to see Ian’s evolution with the driver experiment and see where he goes with it as he refines his driver swing. Should be interesting!
I love seeing WITB from someone who can quite literally choose the best of everything. Definitely going to try out a shorter FW next season. That Franken 4 wood looks like it would be fun to hit.
Love it !!!! New Titleist carry bag it appears as well ? Very interesting to hear your explanations for the driver and shaft switch wouldn't mind trying that option myself.
Almost the same as my bag! I play TSR2 9 Degree Pro Force V2, Mizuno 223’s, vokey SM9s! Thinking about trying the new GT mini driver for this year as playing my TSi2 #3 & 5 woods still! Can’t beat titleist & mizuno fraz 😎
I've been toying with the idea of a ventus red in my tsr3 10 degree for just the same effect. I demoed one and it was so easy and repeatable to turn over. Good luck on the new venture Ian.
I moved from a ventus tr blue 6x to a graphite design CQ 5x for a similar reason! That and finally moving to midsize grip vs std has helped that loft more effortlessly.
I don’t think he “sold off “ Modern Golf. I think he decided to go on his own after working for Modern. He has enough contacts in the industry and possibly felt he could bring a different “customer experience “ to fitting. Obviously it worked…..
Go on Ian lad well done going it alone. Keep it coming. Hope you’re not missing Mikey too much 😂. Merry Christmas thanks for the hard work and content this year.
Love my 243s and Smoke mini, thinking about selling the 4 and 5 and going w 245s as the 243s are not that easy to hit compared, been following you for along time love to see you venturing off on your own and starting a channel, life time subscriber here
I did same thing 2 years ago with driver. I put ego aside, had always played a lower spin head. Put in the g430 max and had a few of my best driving years and shot a personal best 68 (5 under) at Streamsong Black this year!
Awesome WITB Ian. Been following you since early days at TXG. Just subscribed today. Can’t disagree with you on sticking with TSR3, your explanation about being more front weighted makes sense. As soon I saw the weight track up front I knew it would be less forgiving. My TSR3 10 deg head playing at B1 is awesome. During my custom fit my CHS on trackman indoors was 96-98 mph which I think is about 100 mph on GCquad. Got fit into hzdrs Red CB 50 g 6.0. Love it.
I like Club Champion. Excellent fitting and their business model of ‘the right club for the right golfer’ really rings true to me. Just because ‘the right club’ also happens to mean ‘whatever club we can make the most money off of’ and ‘the right golfer’ is whichever golfer you are currently doing a fitting for does not mean we should all bag on them.
Stoked for more Ian! I too am tinkering with driver, mini driver @11.5, a shortened 4w, and then 4i. What hosel setting are you playing the shortened 4w at? Looking forward to the new content!
I hope Mikey is off camera haha I've been making a bunch of changes this year. Maybe not as detail oriented as I'd like but i don't have the luxury of a fitter within no less than 3 or 4 hours from me. Mizuno has been winning me over. I play an ST-G 5-wood and kicked the 3. Turned down to 17 (might need a shaft) I got a couple S23 wedges to replace my aging Fourteens. They also desperately need a shaft change. And I'm about to receive a ST-Max driver 9.5 with a RDX Smoke Blue which replaces a 2016 Taylormade M2 I'm not super enthusiastic to change lol
Hey ian congrats and good luck with new channel. Id love to hear more about CG location and how that affects flight, in regards to your conversation with jim furyk the other day. Also would love to hear your opinions on single length irons or the new combo from avoda. Thanks and good luck
Love the 2 Lob Wedges and the extra driver head. K Star is so hot right now, like Hansel. How long do you give the driver shaft? Until the PGA Show? . Love the Mizunos! Vosh can you hear me. ❤🔥
Subbed about an hour ago. Cancelled my sub somewhere else. Ian is the man. Hopefully we'll see some fittings, like with The Rocket, on this channel as well.
I remember Ian when you were hitting the G4 30 max driver. It seemed so effortless such a fairway finder. Yes you lost some distance but I totally agree with the path you’re taking. Might be worth looking back at that driver as well or maybe even the 430 LST
Hey man congrats on the new gig! Curious question for ya. What kind of grips do you use and what size for a medium glove user like yourself vs a large glove user.
Merry Christmas. I have the 223 and 225 in long irons. With project x ls 6.5. However, think they are slightly heavy as I have a lower back issue. What woukd you recommend trying like a stuff tip as I got the ball high anyway and keeps it straighter. 7 iron swing speed is around 93mph but can get to 100 if warmed up ha. Thanks in advance if you reply.
Hi Ian: great channel! For your mini, are you using the 11.5* or 13.5* ? you mentioned it plays 43.75" , so with the Callaway driver adapter, it would measure 42.5" from tip to grip? Thanks!
I really enjoyed the videos of Ian getting lessons from Mr. Raflewski...especially outdoors . Hopefully some outdoor lessons make it to the channel. putting, chipping all situations, partial shots! Maybe a swing coach on course diagnosing what Ian's swing is missing outdoors compared to indoors...for me alignment is a lot more difficult outdoors
My Liege, Did your driver struggles in Jacksonville lead you back to the TSR 3? You’re absolutely money with that driver. Love the new content and channel. Great work as always.
Love a WITB from you, great to see you going back to the draw I think that is your natural shape. with your 5W what would you class as standard 7W length?
It is scary how similar bags we're having. Instead of Franken Four I have Franken Hybrid, an old Titty 17 deg opened close to 19 with a sawed-off tight Diamana. It's a missile launcher for windy links. Laguna instead of Newport, though.
How about tee height? There are so many options for tees these days. How about a segment on what tee length and height is best for new driver performance.
It’s amazing what a softer tip does if you have positive AOA. It’s a cheat code where the stiffer black lead deflects more and moves strike to the bottom, that red will move it up the face without spinning it!. It’s made all the difference in my strike going more “mid” launch. The marketing material has to say something but it rarely has ever played out for me in practice.
@ I’m suggesting if you have an extremely high AOA 5 or more that profile is going to move strike up the face instead of down at the bottom where his usual miss is. Marketing aside it’s just a timing mechanism and what matters is how it moves dynamically through space. Droop is just handle stiffness but lead deflection is what impacts strike. That’s why puring a driver makes no sense . The shaft doesn’t bend statically in a straight line . It’s a squiggly one droops in the handle ,lags in the midsection ,and leads at impact.
@ there is no exact formula. It’s all you based. I can’t guess at darts in the dark. If you have a specific question and launch data I can give you an educated guess but I’ve never seen you swing. I started learning the trade in 1993 though so I have a little experience 🤣
You’ve had those BirTees as a constant in your video from feels like day one. I’d like to see you analyze the difference in spin Vs a Prolength Tee and Vs something like a Zero Friction tee. Cya later CC, hello mr. Fraser...love to see it my man

Just saw the “final live”. Learned a lot from the TXG channel and definitely watching your future videos here!
Immediate sub, been a fan since the TXG days. Pleaseeeeee tell me some of your content will be club reviews, we've got nowhere else to go!
Long time follower, excited for your new channel!
I’ve learned a bunch from Ian over the years. Good luck with the new venture.

Completely agree with shorter fairway woods. They are just so easy to hit
congratulations on the new venture!!! good stuff!!!
Glad to see some club and equipment knowledge will also land alongside your new content menu. 👍
time for a mattyboi reunion
Great content of your club selection & their set up, very informative. I also was quit surprised to see you went out on your own, another
new adventure, good luck! I will definitely be following you!. Looking forward to the next video.
I love the detail you provide with your mind set and work each club with your game. Merry Christmas !!
Just watched the Qi35 fit... looks like some of those ideas gave been incorporated
Good to see you producing your own content. I’m in!
Glad to be back watching your videos! Keep giving us THAT TECH!! Ha.

I moved from a ventus tr blue 6x to a graphite design CQ 5x for a similar reason! That and finally moving to midsize grip vs std has helped that loft more effortlessly.
To combo these based on the stock specs if you wanted to blend at the 5 and 6 would bend the 245 1 degree strong?
Congrats, pal. As ever, great stuff to be learned here.
Saw the comments on the Club champion videos - glad I stumbled across your new channel !
For the Frankenwood, would you tip the shaft for a 4-wood (the loft) or 7 wood (the length and club weight)?
No way. Ian quit TXG/CC just so he could finally make a WITB without conflict of interest 😂
TXG was the greatest golf channel ever, hopefully this new channel goes that direction.
He starts up multiple companies and sells them off. Happened way before TXG with places like modern golf
@@SnoopyGolf I know a real OG when I see the little tidbit on Ian being a prior member of the Modern Golf team

Great as always Ian! Cant wait for Ian’s witb when the Qi35 launches then the updated version when the G440 makes an appearance
I did not realise Ian departed Club Champion. I am surprised at the move.
I worked for them for the best part of three years, it was time to get back to doing what I love to do.
Great new channel. What grips are you using? I have arthritis in my hands and am looking for something new.
What's up dude glad to follow you on your new Channel 😊
Love the Mizuno 245/243 choice! Why not a TSR2? Guess it’s not right to left issue for you? Also, what do you do for grips?
Really looking forward to what’s going to come out on this channel
