  • Harley-Davidson changed the future of motorcycling with the introduction of the Knucklehead. Not only are original Knuckleheads hard to find and highly sought after, but they are also one of the smoothest bikes Harley-Davidson ever built! You can find your chance to win this 1939 Harley-Davidson Knucklehead restored back to showroom condition at wheelsthroughtime.com/win-this-bike

Matt- Your father's contribution to the preservation of motorcycle history will never be forgotten in our antique motorcycle community of NE Ohio. I can relate to what you're going through because I lost my father in 2005. He told me stories about his 1920s 74 cubic inch JD that he rode back in the 1930s. One time he towed an Indian Chief home from PA with a friend using a rope. It started raining on their way back and Dad's friend ended up getting covered from head to toe with mud. Dad bought me trail bikes when I was a kid and is the main reason I came to love motorcycles so much. God bless!

Bill Ham test rode a 61 cubic inch Knuckle. The test was conducted at Muroc Dry Lake (later Edwards Air Force Base). Ham rode it continually. Outside of a nearly-molten primary chain, the bike ran flawlessly. The first bike I ever rode was a 1939 Knuckle. Thanks for the informative video. Great bike!

The sound we never get tired of! Please record the exhaust sounds from the rear of the bike...As recording the engine and exhaust sounds from the side of the bike, this to my ears promotes the engine sounds and less than the best of that sound we never get tired of...m..recording challenges, please, standing behind the bike sweep 1/4 of a circle forward to the right and back to center, then sweep 1/4 to the left and return. I believe the best harley sound is on the saddle, and second best is hearing the harley from behind as they leave the location and run the bike up in every gear shifting at the perfect gear change timing...blessings...m

I believe you can. Read the rules facing similar problems as I'm based in australia. You would have to pay for shipping etc. So for me that's about 7k to just do that. But the alternative is about us20k in prize money if you don't take the bike.
And if I won, my choice would be better to leave a restored bike like that in a museum for later generations to enjoy and I take the money and build myself a shovel or something

Even in the 21st century, Harley didn't learn to put the traction to the right and not leave it behind the clutch! Only the Types Of Sportster is correct! Indian, Triumph, Royal Enfield, they've all changed only Harley is still struggling with this absolutely outdated method!
